We have been asked by the team at Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes to find 250 MNers to try their handy sized pack of wipes.

Sani Hands say “With increased public awareness of the importance of hand hygiene and the transfer of germs, people now more than ever want to minimise the risk of picking up germs and bacteria, particularly while out and about. Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes kill 99.99% of bacteria and germs in seconds, and keep hands protected for up to 6 hours. With 80% of communicable diseases transferred by touch, most bacteria on our hands is on the fingertips and under our nails. Sani Hands antibacterial wipes are proven to be the most effective and hygienic alternative to soap and water. The unique textured surface improves dirt removal while the added moisturisers make them gentle on your hands

They are a perfect for busy days out with the children, and are also popular with commuters, holiday makers and office workers.”

Testers will be sent a pack of Sani Hands Antibacterial Hand Wipes, each handy sized pack contains 12 wipes.

Sani Hands are available to buy from Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Waitrose stores and further information can be found at www.sanihands.co.uk/. The RRP is £1.20.

Selected testers will be asked to try the wipes with their family (perhaps on a day out or holiday or even on a trip to the supermarket) and then asked to share their feedback on a thread on Mumsnet.

Everyone who takes part and shares their feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get a £300 supermarket voucher (for supermarket of choice, from a list).

If you’d like to take part, please add your details here.

We will be in touch with selected testers soon - please note we are looking for feedback by the end of August, please only apply if you’re around during August to receive the wipes, try them and then add feedback on Mumsnet.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Applied.
While I agree that some germs are beneficial sometimes you are not in a position to wash your hands, like when having a picnic with your children in the middle of a walk out in the woods after picking up dirty leaves and interesting stones.

I wonder how many people actually pick up a bacterial infection when they're out and about compared with the number of antibacterial products sold?

Chosen! I agree that washing your hands are best but in some cases you can't and these are useful until you are able to wash your hands properly!

I work in the community and don't always have access to water and soap so this will be ideal for me. Thank you Smile

Really pleased to have been chosen for this trial.

To the posters that hate the idea of antibacterial hand wipes: Yes soap and water is ideal, but as others have said it's not always possible so these wipes would be ideal.

I travel by public transport every day as I don't have a car anymore. The handrails are filthy and have all sorts of nasty bugs on them : link to one study - there are loads more if you google it.

Over the summer I've been taking my daughter on the bus to go to the park (no soap and water available) and then having a packed lunch after, or just snacks in general. In that situation we need something to clean our hands and kill off above mentioned germs. I have also noticed I have picked up more colds and stomach bugs since using public transport that I ever did previously. I have seen people sneeze into their hands then grab the handrail. I have seen (and smelt) some people that obviously don't wash themselves or their clothes on the bus. I highly doubt they would be scrupulous about hand washing after going to the toilet, they also hold the hand rails getting in and off the bus. Etc.

Also in public toilets you wash your hands then put clean hands on the germ ridden door handle to open door and you are back to square one.

I am all for not sanitising everything to within an inch of its life. I certainly don't disinfect every surface of my house (or add it to the wash as was mentioned on previous MN threads), but I do see the need to use antibacterial products sometimes - particularly when out and about.

They usually put feedback thread up after a week or so of people getting the product. They usually email a link with the thread.
