This is the feedback thread for the 30 Mumsnetters who have been testing the Tefal one-pot digital cooker Cook4Me Connect (RRP £319.99).

Here’s what Tefal have to say about the product: “You don’t need to be a masterchef to achieve delicious meals in no time! Tefal have innovated again, and now give you Cook4Me.

Cook4Me is a one-pot digital cooker, ideal for parents looking to make fast and fresh meals:
- It is easy to use and intuitive: Cook4Me comes with 50 built-in recipes, and features a digital screen with guided cooking steps.
- Cook4Me cooks under pressure, which means you will save a lot of time. For example, after browning and pre-heating, it cooks a Chicken Tikka Masala in 3 minutes, a Thai Green Chicken curry in 4 minutes and a Risotto in 9 minutes (and no need to stir!)…
- It is the ideal all-in-one cooker, with up to 6 cooking manual modes: not only does it pressure cook, but it also steams, browns, simmers, gentle-cooks and automatically keeps your food warm. Its dishwasher-safe bowl can feed 6 people, perfect for the whole family or for batch-cooking.

Cook4Me comes in a standard version, with 50 built-in recipes (RRP is £269.99), and in a Connected version, that works with My Cook4Me app, giving access to over 100 recipes (RRP is £319.99).”

Testers, please ensure that you’ve tested the digital cooker using both the recipes and the manual/ingredients modes and then give your feedback by answering the following questions as well as completing the survey we will email to you.

  1. How easy or difficult did you find Cook4Me Connect to use?
  2. Which recipes did you try? What did you think of them?
  3. What were your thoughts on the cooking results of the Cook4Me Connect?
  4. Would you recommend the Cook4Me Connect?

All who give their required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Non-testers, please answer the below question. All non-testers who answer the below question will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

  • Is there a recipe you’ve never dared to cook and would really like to be able to make in the Cook4Me?

Thanks and good luck!

Chicken Cordon Bleu for me looks so yummy but getting the right amount of succlency in the meat is difficult !

Mummy2aRockstar · 13/07/2017 13:25

Non tester - I'd love to try making an authentic Thai green curry.

crosscat12 · 13/07/2017 13:46

Non user i can never make a perfect rissoto it edible but never quite right

5blackbis · 13/07/2017 14:34

My mum use to cook pea and ham soup using pigs trotters, i would love to try and cook that

LiveLifeWithPassion · 13/07/2017 15:49

I made the Dahl recipe and it was really good. I did add garlic and fresh coriander to it as that's how I like Dahl.
I made the recipe for 6 so plenty of leftovers.

I also tried making a peach cobbler as I saw a recipe for it. It didn't really work well as I kept getting an error message saying to clean the lid and then to add more water. The lid was clean and I did it again, but I didn't think a watery cobbler sounded very appetising.
The cobbler bit failed but the fruit with a bit of cream, was fab.

Has anyone tried a simple dessert? Apart from a rice pudding recipe on the net, I've not really come across any. The Cook4Me ones are too faffy for me. Though I might try a steam pudding in one basin rather 4.

Non tester: I have never had or cooked a risotto, they look lovely but difficult to make.

SpandexPandas · 13/07/2017 18:20

Non tester: I would love to make a risotto. I've never ever ever been able to make it, my cooking skills are average at best. I bet it would be really easy to so in the Tefal!!

cake17uk · 13/07/2017 18:30

Non-tester - I've lways wanted to try making a risotto, but worried it would go too stodgy or not cooked through properly

TefalTester123 · 13/07/2017 19:10

Tried the pesto chicken risotto at lunchtime. Added some red pepper and green beans as they worked well with rice dishes yesterday. Thought it needed a bit more pesto, and some seasoning. Should have stirred more pesto in at the end.

Anyway, very good, and would never have considered bothering to make this for lunch before the Cook4me.

Just cooked some rice for dinner and put some grean beans and brocolli (stalks down) on top of the rice. They've come out really well. On stay warm now while I defrost a chill that was in the freezer.

Loving this machine.

TefalTester123 · 13/07/2017 19:54

Scrap some of that last post. When we got it out of the pot the brocolli turned to mush!

MrsG841 · 13/07/2017 19:59

Non Tester:
I would love to try and cook crispy duck pancakes ... It has to be my favourite takeaway

JenniferAnistonsHair · 13/07/2017 20:50

I'd love to try any kind of lamb dish in the Cook4Me. I always worry I'm going to ruin lamb by overcooking it, so I avoid it...but it is one of my favourite foods, so would love to be able to find a way to cook it!

compstruck · 13/07/2017 22:19

non tester, I'd love to make a souffle, I am not very brave, but if this could do that I'd be really impressed

robyn297 · 13/07/2017 22:29

Non tester - I would love to make a sage and butternut risotto, I can never make a good one myself.

theresamustgo · 13/07/2017 23:03

Non tester: a really slow cooked belly pork with black bean sauce would be grand.

jamielmdjs · 13/07/2017 23:34

non tester - thai green curry. Never had the confidence to get it right

baberooo · 13/07/2017 23:36

I would love to try the pulled pork recipe but I can never get it moist and juicy, I have always wanted to learn how to cook it perfectly as my family love it.

sbruin1122 · 14/07/2017 01:25

creme brulee

snare · 14/07/2017 07:47

Non tester - I would make a risotto :)

sjl19 · 14/07/2017 08:07

Non tester: The sweet chilli salmon that PurpleCrazyHorse has made looks delicious so i would want to try and make that one. Salmon isn't something I usually cook at home.

omgitslani · 14/07/2017 08:12

Non tester - I notice that there is a setting to make a butternut squash risotto on here. I have always wanted to try a risotto but have been too scared of ruining the risotto rice! This would be perfect.

lorrainej162 · 14/07/2017 09:07

Non tester
I've never made a risotto before, but would love to try the pesto chicken risotto.

Loftzilla · 14/07/2017 09:38

It sounds as though it would be great for baked beans. When opening a can of beans once, I remember thinking it must be possible to make your own but I still haven't tried!
