Im 45 & still get occasional spots and have combination skin - would like it calm.down it abit - its been trial & error with other cleaners Confused

d270r0 · 31/05/2017 21:29

Non tester... my biggest facial issue is that I am prone to spots. They randomly appear in various places on my face... the last one was huge and painful on the corner of my eyebrow! It is embarrassing especially in my job as I work with young people and sometimes wonder if they notice and say things behind my back.

CointreauVersial · 31/05/2017 21:33

Non-tester.

Biggest facial issue for me at the age of 50 is sagging skin (jowls). I don't have too many wrinkles or spots, but everything is less "firm" than it used to be. I might have to employ a bulldog clip behind each ear.....

Your first impressions: I have used Cleanse and Polish before and liked it. I live the smell and texture and I love that it removes eye makeup.
I have never used a Liz Earle moisturiser and on first impression I did not like the Superskin moisturiser. It smelled very "natural" as in a bit like veg peelings, but that is better than being over perfumed. The smell did not linger on my skin thankfully. The cream was a bit thick for my oily skin.
I have oily skin so I use a Clarins oil at night which helps control oil production. In the morning I use a face wash, then SPF and primer. I don't use a separate moisturiser as I find these are hydrating enough for me.

After over a week of use:

Cleanse & Polish™
My skin was clearer within days. My only problem was that it exacerbated pre-existing eczema on my eye lids so I stopped using it on eyelids for a few days to let my flare up settle down. I have been using it to remove mascara since then without any problem

Stars out of five (where 5 is excellent and 1 is very poor)
A natural product that works 5
Suitable for all skin types 4 I think it could be too drying for some
Simple to use 5

Would you recommend Cleanse & Polish™ to your friends? Yes!

Superskin™ Moisturiser with Natural Neroli
No instant results except oilier skin. I just don't think it is right for my skin type. It is a very thick cream and I can imagine it being great on dry skin but for me it was no use. I tried only using it at night but it was still too heavy. The smell didn't grow on me at all.
Stars out of five (where 5 is excellent and 1 is very poor)
A natural product that works 2 - it was natural but didn't work for me
Suitable for all skin types -1
Simple to use -5 (it's a face cream, not much to it!)

Would you recommend the Superskin Moisturiser to your friends? Only if they had dry skin

NON TESTER

BIggest facial issue for me is tired and dull looking skin. I also suffer from frequent outbreaks around my chin area. Have tried a variety of different products, both premium and more budget brands but nothing seems to work in the long term.

My biggest issue is uneven skin tone including areas of dry skin, dark circles under my eyes, and red patches. I also suffer from seasonal eczema which makes using my usual solution to the above problems (tinted moisturiser) difficult.

Stuffofawesome · 31/05/2017 22:17

non tester. Open pores, dry skin and sebaceous filaments my problem

HesterGreysGarden · 31/05/2017 22:18

Non tester. My biggest facial skin issue is a slight discolouration across my nose - kind of like freckles - which I developed during my second pregnancy. I am happy to celebrate all the other ways that my body has changed after having babies, but I just can't get used to these marks. I find I'm wearing much more foundation than I used to so I can try to hide them.

mata777 · 31/05/2017 22:20

Nontester. Spots - as 37 years old I should not have them...

ageing skin, including age spots :(

Itsnothingoriginal · 31/05/2017 22:37

Non tester (so gutted not to get chosen for this Sad)

I still have really oily skin in my early 40s and often get large spots. I need something for aging skin but also suitable for a face that I could quite easily cook a fry up on!! Have heard good things about LE but worry about spending lots of money on a product that won't help with the oil or break outs!

lorka · 31/05/2017 23:10

Non tester - my biggest issue is dry skin which tends to flush across my cheeks. Would love to win some Liz Earle products to improve the look of my skin.

raspberryblush23 · 31/05/2017 23:10

Non-tester. My biggest issue apart from the beginnings of wrinkles is sensitive eyes.

theresamustgo · 31/05/2017 23:13

Non tester - really dry skin towards my ears and spots around my mouth. Yuck!

CFranS · 31/05/2017 23:16

Non-tester - my biggest facial skin issue is my combination skin - dry forehead!

Bettyspants · 31/05/2017 23:20

Non tester. In my forties and still battling with spots...my skin looks and feels oily very easily , I constantly apply powder throughout the day. Despite the gloss I also get dry patches and have some noticeable wrinkles that I had hoped I'd avoid due to the greasy skin Confused

Binglesplodge · 31/05/2017 23:25

Non-tester - my biggest facial issue is redness. My skin, especially on my nose, is very thin and prone to redness that is difficult to cover with makeup. I've tried hundreds of products hoping to find one that calms redness which isn't caused by irritation, just by complexion!

amprev · 31/05/2017 23:51

My constant skin gripe is that it looks dull - I buy products which promise to brighten but I never see much difference. I know I should drink more water!

Patapouf · 01/06/2017 00:01

Non-tester here: My biggest skin issue has got to be balancing my skins propensity for dryness with my oily t zone/acne prone skin (as well as trying to prevent premature aging). Not really just one problem Grin

del2929 · 01/06/2017 00:47

NON TESTER= uneven skin tone- blemishes- dark circles that just dont go no matter what potion i try. urgh! help me.

GerrysSuccessor · 01/06/2017 07:11

Non tester. My biggest issue is my skin looking generally tired and dull. I used to have lovely skin, then hit 30 and it all went down hill. Not in terms of wrinkles just managing to look dull and shiny at the same time!

StewPots · 01/06/2017 07:59

I have the most horrendous breakouts every few weeks, all around my chin and mouth! They look so awful and make me feel like hiding away in a cupboard until they are gone!

Then I get really dry skin following this, so have to moisturise around 3 times a day sometimes to stop it from flaking. Drives me mad, so I'm always on the lookout for anything that improves this infuriating cycle!

My first impressions were good. Lovely packaging. Pump action bottle is a great feature, less waste. I liked the storage bag, good for travel. The moisturiser jar looks classy and expensive.

I liked the texture of the Cleanse and Polish, it's very different to my usual cleanser. I've never used LE products before. It smelt fresh and 'clean', in fact both products did.

For reference, I currently used Emma Hardie Moringa Balm, which is a high end (and expensive!!) hot cloth cleansing routine.

Cleanse and Polish.

I did like the product, I really did but it's simply not as effective as the Moringa Balm and I didn't notice instant results. It left my skin soft and cleansed and not at all tight, but did not take all traces of a full make up off, especially round the eyes. My current product does. I will use the product up, but only use it when I haven't been wearing make up or in the morning and I wouldn't repurchase over my current. I couldn't use the cloth after 2/3 washes as it sensitised my skin too much.

A natural product that works - 3
Suitable for all skin types - 5 (cleanser) 3 (cloth)
Simple to use - 5

Would you recommend cleanse and polish - yes, overall.

Superskin Moisturiser

I was neutral re the smell overall. Loved the packaging, as stated above. Overall, I have found the moisturiser too rich for my skin (mid 40's) and had a break out on my chin. I wouldn't feel confident to apply make up after using the product and it has no SPF, but too rich to apply that too! I've been using it as a night cream though.

I currently use Nuxe products and they are so soothing to the skin, which I didn't find here.

A natural product that works - 3
Suitable for all skin types - 3
Simple to use - 5

Overall, lovely products but I wouldn't repurchase, but that might be because the products I already use are 'high end' and it's taken me a while to find them, I don't know.

Biggest skin issue is dry skin, wrinkles and a couple of spot scar marks on my forehead. I feel like I almost need a separate moisturiser for this part of my face as the rest of my skin isn't as dry - or wrinkled.

CrispyBathTowel · 01/06/2017 09:21

My biggest facial skin issue is that my skin seems to have lost its 'glow' since DD was born nearly 11 months ago. She is thankfully a good sleeper so far so I can't even blame tiredness Grin

My skin looks a lot duller and dryer and I just can't seem to get any rehydration back into it. This is helping to emphasis fine lines and wrinkles and is just making me looking generally a bit lacklustre and tired.

I'd love the opportunity to win some Liz Earle products to see if they can help restore some flow and life back into my face.
