To help celebrate the launch of the new "menu pour enfants" at Café Rouge they have asked us to find 150 MN families to try out their new menu with their DC at one of their restaurants. This offer is open to people with at least one child aged up to around 10 who would be eating from the kids' menu.

We're looking for MNers able to go to one of the restaurants on this list* - with your child - for lunch from 12pm or dinner and to then report back to a thread on MN.

Here's the menu
And more on the offer for kids here

We're looking for feedback in August so please only apply if you're able to go to Café Rouge in August and are able to give feedback in August.

Café Rouge say "Using only the finest ingredients served in a stylish and relaxed environment, Café Rouge’s carefully designed menu has been created to tickle even the pickiest youngsters’ taste buds. To cater for fussy eaters, Café Rouge is offering easy first courses of warm fougasse bread finger with d’signy butter and crudités with a tomato dip. Other (hopefully) tantrum-busting dishes include the new tasty Macaroni Cheese, Le Burger which uses the best Aberdeen Angus beef and the sautéed ‘Poulet Ooh la la’ with all the trimmings. For children who like to eat like an adult, there is a selection of mouth-watering desserts such as traditional French crêpes with chocolate sauce or children can get their ‘five a day’ the Café Rouge way with a simple bowlful of fresh fruit salad. Ice cream is a classic summer indulgence and is available in six tempting flavours. All of the petits enfants favourite dishes can be washed down with flavoured milk, bottle green cordial or a selection of soft drinks. We look forward to hearing your verdict!"

If selected you will be sent a voucher for £50 and asked to book and visit for lunch from 12pm or dinner. You will need to make your own way to Café Rouge. We will then ask you to add your feedback on a thread on MN as well as adding a review to your own MN Local Pages.

Everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw where TWO MNers will each win a £75 voucher for Café Rouge as a thank you for sharing their feedback.

If you'd like to take part please add your details here

Done, we never eat out due to cost so this would be a real treat especially as not going on holiday this year

I love Cafe Rouge! They really seemed to drop their game about 5 years ago with quality, but the last couple of times I've been it's back on track.

I love naice places that want to encourage children, I'm hoping we can try it out.

Nothing gluten free not even one option. We eat out a lot but with three of us gluten free we'll be sticking with carluccios or pizza express which is a shame as do and I had our first ever date at cafe rouge in Hammersmith in 1997!

The veggie options are truly awful: cheese on toast with chips or pasta and sauce. It's just refined carbs and fat and not even any veg on the side. I would only do that at home if we were in a massive rush and I knew that they'd eaten something better earlier in the day. Couldn't you do something a bit more nutritious? Even omelette with the same sides that the chicken options have would be a better balance of protein and veg.

BTW Miss Smiley the chicken breast is marked gluten free.

Done, chose Windsor as ventured there last year (DD1 in Panto there) and not yet tried to shops and only a couple of restaurants.

Looks fun - but for those who grumble most product events are London-centric, just need to point out that a) Haywards Heath is seriously pushing the boundaries (literally and metaphorically) of what is London and b) that means there are only 2 v central London options compared to a great variety across the rest of the country (which is A Good Thing - I am not complaining!)

Fingers crossed: taking the dcs on the bus for a lunch or dinner outing in the West End would be a fantastic Family Day Out for August Grin

Why isn't the Norwich one on the list?

Well Cafe Rouge are clearly not interested in what those of us oop north think. None of their restaurants between Manchester and Edinburgh are included and sadly a £50 voucher doesn't make it worth our while to travel 2 hours for a meal out. Why not include Newcastle, or Leeds, or Durham or Harrogate?

The meals aren't exactly very French are they? chicken and veg, chicken goujons, breaded fishcakes, bangers and mash, pasta, burger and chips and a cheese and ham toastie? not one veggie gluten free option either.

LineRunner · 29/07/2015 15:16

The chicken we had was basically just bones.
