We have been asked by the team at Farrow & Ball to find 10 MNers to attend an exclusive event with Farrow & Ball in London (Chelsea) on Thursday 13th November - between 11am and 1pm and to then have a host of goodies (worth up to around £200 - depending on what you need) from Farrow and Ball to help achieve their dream room!

We're looking for folks who are ready to do up a room (and/or furniture within a room) but who are in need of some help with colour schemes and the preparation.

At the event there will be an inspirational colour talk from their International Colour Consultant Joa Studholme who will be available to give advice on schemes and colours with attending MNers.

After the event you will receive the following - all specific to the room/ items you want to decorate:

Farrow and Ball primer and undercoat - if needed
Farrow and Ball inspiration booklets
Farrow and Ball paint - up to 10 litres in your choice of colour (could also have eggshell if that's suitable)
Farrow and Ball paint brushes

And asked to use them in your chosen room - no help with the actual work will be given - it's a DIY project with support! You need to be ready to go with this project before Christmas.

Please note, at the event, lunch will be provided as well as drinks and you're welcome to bring small children if necessary.

In return we will need MNers to add feedback - and photos from both the day and your efforts at home to a thread on MN and we'd also like you to send us some before, during and after photos of the transformation.

MNers who are selected to take part will be also asked to make a video diary of their experiences and end result - featuring themselves/their family using the Farrow & Ball products and tips. The event will also be filmed by MN and some MNers will be selected to have a MN Video crew visit their home post make-over for a couple of hours to do some filming/ interview you on film. The photos and edited video may appear on the Farrow & Ball website/YouTube, be hosted on the MN YouTube channel and possibly appear elsewhere.

All who take part and who add feedback as required will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win £200 of vouchers for Farrow and Ball.

If you'd like to apply please add your details here and we will be in touch

thanks

I would absolutely love to do this. The best bit for me would be meeting Joa Studholme. I tend to be a bit neutral with colour, but would live to do something 'wow' with my soon to be TV/family room (currently unused dining room as we tend to perch around our small kitchen table). And read 'dumping ground' for dining room!

Quite fancy doing something dark and mysterious (room will not have much natural light). But would need hand-holding on the colour design to make me go through with it. Fingers crossed I get picked...

Our decorator said the same Adorabelle so I let her buy the stuff she approved of (colourmatching to the shades i'd picked).

The following year I ignored it and tried F&B emulsion myself. I think it took six coats. And was marked within a week. Never again. I should have listened Sad

Talk about trading on people's aspirations. Everyone thinks it's posh. It so isn't.

Does anyone know if the 10 people selected for this event have been notified?

WhoLetTheDogsOut · 10/11/2014 13:33

I was wondering that too Selling. I'd love to be picked, but it would be good to know either way as it's only 3 days away.

MNHQ have the lucky 10 been chosen already?

AnnMumsnet · 10/11/2014 14:12

Hi - yes they have - sorry if you weren't picked....

I'm sad not to be picked but will love to read about all the colour tricks that the lucky MNetters learn.

Am also watching the thread with interest as am desperate to know how to cover up our new house's black walls!

WhoLetTheDogsOut · 11/11/2014 18:08

Also sad not to be picked, but looking forward to seeing the finished rooms!
