This is the thread for the Ambrosia Taste Team Testers who have been notified by email that they have been selected to try out the mini pots of custard or rice pudding with their children*

Ambrosia say; "our mini pots of custard or rice have calcium and vitamin D, which are needed for normal growth and development of bone in children. We believe our mini pots are perfect for small appetites. They contain no preservatives or artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners, but are full of dairy goodness. They have a long life and don't need to be chilled, so they are perfect for stocking up on reserve and for use out and about too. They are a perfect pudding solution that children will love!"

For all ingredients please see here

Ambrosia Taste Team Testers, please share on this thread your responses to the following questions:

Were you sent rice pudding or custard and how old is the child(ren) who you tried them with?
Overall, did you enjoy the Ambrosia mini pots you received? Did your child(ren)?
Would you buy any of the mini pots again?
Do you think you would recommend the mini pots to your friends and family (if it came up in conversation)?
How did you serve the mini pots (on their own or with something else)?
When would you / your family be most likely to eat the mini pots?
Would you include a mini pot in your child’s lunchbox or on a picnic?
Would you say that the mini pots are good value for money? (Each pack of 6 has a recommended retail price of £1.49)

All selected Ambrosia Taste Team Testers who provide feedback will be entered into a prize draw** where one Ambrosia Taste Team Tester will be selected at random to win an £100 gift card for John Lewis. See prize draw T&Cs here.

Were you sent rice pudding or custard and how old is the child(ren) who you tried them with?
We were sent rice pudding for my 3 year old to try.
Overall, did you enjoy the Ambrosia mini pots you received? Did your child(ren)?
She wasn't keen at first, but then she quickly finished the pot.
Would you buy any of the mini pots again?
They are a perfect size I recently bought the larger pots for her lunch box, but they were too big for her to eat in a short amount of time straight after her sandwiches, so these are perfect.
Do you think you would recommend the mini pots to your friends and family (if it came up in conversation)?
yes they are a great snack and size for little ones.
How did you serve the mini pots (on their own or with something else)?
she has only had them on there own at the moment.
When would you / your family be most likely to eat the mini pots?
As a snack or pudding.
Would you include a mini pot in your child’s lunchbox or on a picnic?
yes, she recently started nursery and they are perfect.
Would you say that the mini pots are good value for money? (Each pack of 6 has a recommended retail price of £1.49)
they are average.
The only comment I would make is that when you break them apart, the plastic is very sharp and i had to ensure she didnt hurt herself on it. If sending in a lunch box I would have to cut the edges to make them more rounded.
Enjoyed testing them, thank you.

titchypumpkin · 04/11/2014 10:54

MNHQ are Ambrosia going to send them out to those of us that haven't received them yet and will the deadline for feedback be extended???

Custard, tried with DS1 (6) and DS2 (4)

Would you buy any of the mini pots again?

Yes

Do you think you would recommend the mini pots to your friends and family (if it came up in conversation)?

Either on their own or on a hot pudding (added them to apple crumble which cooled the crumble down quickly enough for DSes to scoff straightaway - bonus points from them!

Either lunchtime as part of a lunchbox or dinner dessert

Would you include a mini pot in your childs lunchbox or on a picnic?

We got custard. Tried them with 3 year old and 10 month old and me.
Overall, did you enjoy the Ambrosia mini pots you received? Did your child(ren)?
I enjoyed the pots, and both of the children did too. They were a bit on the small side for the 3 year old though - they were gone in a minute! Perfect size for the baby though.
Would you buy any of the mini pots again?
I'd buy them if they were on offer but I'd probably be just as likely to buy the normal sized pots of ambrosia custard (which I have purchased in the past).
Do you think you would recommend the mini pots to your friends and family (if it came up in conversation)
Yes I might do.
How did you serve the mini pots (on their own or with something else)?
On their own.
When would you / your family be most likely to eat the mini pots?
After dinner.
Would you include a mini pot in your child’s lunchbox or on a picnic?
Yes. They're handy as they don't have to be refrigerated.

billybear · 05/11/2014 19:22

still no rice pud or custard to test why our we waiting all together now ....

LizzieMint · 05/11/2014 21:05

I've given up and had to go and buy some custard before the children revolted. Wink

ChessieFL · 06/11/2014 20:27

Glad it's not just me, was wondering if our postman was a custard thief!!

Caillou · 07/11/2014 18:07

Still no custard here either, but I have resigned myself to accept that they probably will never turn up :(

sealight123 · 07/11/2014 18:59

Am I the only one that hasn't got the pots yet? :( waaaah

LizzieMint · 07/11/2014 19:00

No, there's quite a few of us sealight Sad

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 07/11/2014 20:15

Were you sent rice pudding or custard and how old is the child(ren) who you tried them with?
My product didn't arrive, but I bought the custard mini pots to try with the DDs anyway.
Overall, did you enjoy the Ambrosia mini pots you received? Did your child(ren)?
Yes. They were most popular with DD2 (1) and DH, but they were the perfect size portion for DD1 (3).
Would you buy any of the mini pots again?
Yes, as long as a mini pot was cheaper than a small pot.
Do you think you would recommend the mini pots to your friends and family (if it came up in conversation)?
Yes
How did you serve the mini pots (on their own or with something else)?
I served them on their own to the DDs, but DH poured his over a brownie.
When would you / your family be most likely to eat the mini pots?
For pudding in the evening.
Would you include a mini pot in your child’s lunchbox or on a picnic?
Yes. They're much more suitable than a yogurt for a lunchbox, because they don't need to be kept chilled and if they don't get eaten at lunch, they're still good to eat another time.
Would you say that the mini pots are good value for money? (Each pack of 6 has a recommended retail price of £1.49)
I think they're a little expensive.

DD1 would like the mini custard pots to be available in chocolate flavour.

Hmassey · 07/11/2014 20:45

Im still waiting to sealite cant c is receiving them 2bh

traceofinsanity · 08/11/2014 20:19

Were you sent rice pudding or custard and how old is the child(ren) who you tried them with? We had the rice pudding and my 4 yo daughter and almost 2 yo son had them (and me and mother in law Grin)
Overall, did you enjoy the Ambrosia mini pots you received? Did your child(ren)? Yes and Yes, very much
Would you buy any of the mini pots again? Yes probably, they are a good stand-by option since they last for so long in the cupboard, particularly for lunch boxes if I run out of yoghurt / for a change.
Do you think you would recommend the mini pots to your friends and family (if it came up in conversation)? Yes probably
How did you serve the mini pots (on their own or with something else)? On their own
When would you / your family be most likely to eat the mini pots? Mostly will put in lunchboxes, but also as a treat for pudding
Would you include a mini pot in your child’s lunchbox or on a picnic? Yes
Would you say that the mini pots are good value for money? (Each pack of 6 has a recommended retail price of £1.49) Yes

The only negative comment I have is that I didn't like the lids. Occasionally when I pull the pots apart, if i'm not careful the lid starts to come away from both pots (or maybe I'm just a bit ham fisted Blush)

starlight36 · 09/11/2014 17:29

Were you sent rice pudding or custard and how old is the child(ren) who you tried them with.
We were sent rice pudding. My daughter almost four and son 22 months were the intended testers. My husband and my daughter's friend (4) have ended up being the actual testers.

Overall, did you enjoy the Ambrosia mini pots you received? Did your child(ren)? Unfortunately our pack arrived with four pots burst with their contents splattered over the cardboard box. This immediately put my daughter off the pots and when she reluctantly tried them probably was not tasting them fairly. She decided she didn't like the texture and therefore wouldn't really taste them. Her reaction then put my younger son off. I waited a week to try again but they were still reluctant to try them. My husband loves them and my daughter's friend has taken some to her home as she loved them.

Would you buy any of the mini pots again? Not at the moment. I might try them again when my children are a bit older. I might look out for the custards as the convenience of being able to store them in a cupboard and use them out and about is brilliant.

How did you serve the mini pots? On their own.

When would you / your family be most likely to eat the mini pots? If the children had liked them I thought we'd use them as a dessert for meals outside the house (picnics / packed lunch on a day out / visit to family who wouldn't prepare a child friendly dessert).

Would you include a mini pot in your child's lunchbox or on a picnic? Yes, if they liked them.

Would you say that the mini pots are good value for money? (Each pack of 6 has a recommended retail price of £1.49). Yes

madamginger · 10/11/2014 10:10

Would you buy any of the mini pots again?
Yes!

Do you think you would recommend the mini pots to your friends and family (if it came up in conversation)?
Yes

When would you / your family be most likely to eat the mini pots?
At lunch

Yes

Probably not.
