Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.
Currently breastfeeding 13 week old baby number 3. Also have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. I am a full time mum who works out a lot, mostly with weights. My husband and I also own a couple of pharmacies so it's always nice to try new products to recommend to customers from personal experience. I'm usually fit and healthy but during pregnancy I suffer from spd. After this birth I have experienced lower back pain and the usual upper back pain from bad posture breastfeeding, unavoidable really. I have also been waking in the morning with a stiff neck. Lately, I've been over doing it in the gym, not stretching enough in a rush to collect and feed the kids so I've had a bit of muscle pain!

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

I found the patch easy to apply. I've used them on my lower back, neck, hamstring and knee. Each time the patch lasted until it started to peel off, usually after about 4 hours. I was surprised how well it adhered to my knee and did not fall off throughout the day.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

Brilliant! Really eased the pain and helped mobility in my neck and knee. It really soothed tight hamstrings too.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

Definitely. I now keep them in my gym bag, stiffness and muscle pain are inevitable for me! It's great to be able to continue with your day and still ice the area. I know rest is essential for an injury but as a full time mum with 3 under 5 years old, it's not a luxury I have.

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

I already have! My 9 weeks pregnant friend tried one and found it affective. I have also been recommending them to customers in the pharmacy and friends at the gym.........I should be getting Commision!

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

Yes for the 4 pack, if possible it would be more attractive if it was under £5 ( from customer feedback). I wouldn't be tempted to buy a single patch. For longer term pain, like those experienced during pregnancy, a larger value pack would be better, perhaps a 12 pack.

Thank you for choosing me to test the patches.

  1. I'm currently pregnant but have suffered with sacroiliac joint dysfunction for a few years, so my back pain is not a result of pregnancy. I usually manage it with ibuprofen and TENS machine, both of which I cannot use while pregnant.
  1. Very easy to apply. I left it on until I needed to replace it or remembered it was there, generally I would forget about it as they were very comfortable.
  1. Yes. It didn't get rid of the pain entirely, but nothing ever does during a bad flare up. However it made it a lot more bearable and improved my mobility.
  1. Yes, I plan to keep them on standby. I find that an ice pack has a similar effect but is not always practical and can be messy, so definitely plan to have them available when I'm out and about.
  1. I already have done! I have several friends who are also pregnant and have recommended the patches to them.
  1. Honestly I think they are too expensive for what they are and as a breastfeeding mum on maternity pay I would struggle to fit them into a tight budget. I will buy them but they won't be an everyday item, more for emergencies only.

Q1- I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant & also breastfeeding my 12 month old. I wanted to try the patches as I prefer using more natural remedies if possible & don't like the idea of taking drugs for pain if there's a risk they'd get passed through the placenta or into my milk. I started having back pain around the time I applied to test this product. It's made everyday tasks so much more difficult - carrying my daughter, changing nappies, pushing the pushchair etc. I also have a 3 year old son & was really struggling getting down on the floor to play with him.

Q2- The patch was incredibly sticky. It was also quite difficult to apply so it stayed flat. Depending on how hot I got,it did stay on very well! (Think I may have sweated it off a couple of times though)

Q3- The patch definitely helped to a degree. Initially I'd feel as though nothing was happening & then all of a sudden I'd realise there was no pain! I also went through a couple of weeks of having really bad water retention in my hand...a patch on there really soothed it. (I subsequently was diagnosed with PGP & my symptoms were much worse than the backache I had initially. At this point there was little relief from the patches so I've been using a support belt & osteopathy instead).

Q4- I'd probably use them again in the future but see also my answer below about value for money.

Q5- Yes, I'd recommend them.

Q6- No. I'd probably buy them if they were on special offer but I'd want a much bigger box. Our test box contained 12 patches & this made me much more likely to whip one out when I was hurting. If I only had 1 or 4 in a pack I'd end up rationing them & not using them. Although having said that it's the kind of product that I'd have bought when pregnant the first time round...think I'd be more likely to just get on with it to avoid spending cash this time!

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.
I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and running round after a three year old, during this pregnancy I've had lower back pain/discomfort, especially when trying to lie down and go to sleep or when getting up from a sitting/lying position.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?
I found it very easy to apply after the first few tries and the effects lasted upto about 4 hours

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?
Yes, I loved putting them on

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?
Yes definitely

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?
Yes, already recommended them to my mum (who isn't pregnant if Breastfeeding but doesn't like taking drugs unless absolutely necessary)

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?
No, this is too expensive to consider using regularly throughout pregnancy/Breastfeeding

ChangeIsNear · 04/08/2014 23:28

Has anyone used these patches on engorged breasts when attempting to dry up milk supply?

xclaireyx · 05/08/2014 10:31

Q1 My son is now 4 weeks old and I am breastfeeding. I wanted to try these patches as I thought they might help during the early stages of labour.

Q2 The patches were fairly easy to apply, I used them on my lower back so I did need to get my partner to help but this was fine. I was disappointed with how well they lasted, I found that the edges stuck to my top which meant that they then started to roll up and come unstuck very quickly. I tried a couple of patches to check if it was just applied wrong but it did this repeatedly.

Q3 I wasn't able to keep them on long enough to really say.

Q4 I don't think I would if it was for my back which is what I tend to use this kind of product for, however, I might consider using them for other areas as they were fairly easy to apply in the first instance and clean.

Q5 Possibly but as above it would depend on what they were being used for.

Q5 I think this price is expensive and would put me off from buying them.

Bubbles85 · 06/08/2014 13:06

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

Breastfeeding a 7 month old. I wanted to try the patches as I suffer with post pregnancy back pain, especially in the mornings and I can't take painkillers. My back really hurts and it's something I just have to grin & bear. My back is steadily getting better but my daughter is steadily getting heavier for me to pick up. It's a loosing battle!

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

I asked my husband to apply it as it seemed a bit tricky to do on my own. It lasted over an hour.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

Yes my back ache was definitely dulled while wearing the patch so it worked well for me to apply when I woke up in the morning.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

Yes I would but not daily - purely as I can't afford to do that!

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

Yes I have quite a few friends like that with bad backs who are looking for relief.

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

It's quite a lot for something that is not reusable. But I would get again if I was desperate!

Zarya · 06/08/2014 14:07

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

I am a new mum, currently breastfeeding a 3 week old and am experiencing pain in my lower back and shoulder blade. This makes it difficult to find a comfortable position when breastfeeding, and has been keeping me awake at night. Since my DS is doing a good job of that as well, I need something to let me sleep!
Because of taking paracetamol prescribed by the hospital so much after a difficult birth, I wanted to try something non-drug based and thought this patch might be a good idea.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

The patches are easy to apply, as long as you can reach the affected area. I found it difficult to use in some locations, and had to ask for help. The patches lose there stickiness if they are moved two or three times.

I also found that they didn't stay well on areas that move around. So when I used it on my lower back during the night, I woke up with it stuck to the bedclothes.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

Using the patches did help to relieve the pain, and even when it was removed I found that there was still a cool sensation where the patch had been. The feeling helped to relax the muscle, but does take a few minutes to activate.
Another advantage is that you can also take painkillers while using them. So when I had particularly bad back pain, and the pain killers were not working well I used one of these patches too.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

I do like these patches, but it does depend on where the pain is. They do not penetrate deeply, so do not work on some muscle groups. For instance, these don't work on period cramp pains.

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

Yes, these do help bring relief, and are a nice alternative to not having to take pain medication when it is not possible. They are also less messy than other alternatives to drug based pain relief.

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

I am unlikely to purchase these at that price, and would likely wait until they were on offer. The cost means I would use them sparingly, when the other options are not viable.
There are other alternative topical pain relief/medications which are cheaper to purchase, and as effective. And as another reviewer pointed out paracetamol is also much cheaper.

nomoretether · 06/08/2014 16:45

Q1 - Currently pregnant. I wanted to try the patches as I'm a big fan of the heat patches when I have a period and have struggled with various aches and pains with pregnancy. It feels safer than taking pills.

Q2 - application was fine but they didn't seem to stick very well, certainly not as well as the heat patches.

Q3 - yes they did and they were also good as an alternative to ice on my swollen ankles!

Q4 - yes I would buy them again if the adhesive was improved

Q5 - I have already recommended them to friends

Q6 - they are expensive but priced about right for similar products on the market

GingerLemonTea · 06/08/2014 16:55

Thanks for choosing me.
Q1. I am currently breastfeeding a 7 week old. He is a big baby & I am experiencing an ache across my shoulders & upper back. It's daily, but feel it's unavoidable at the moment. I wanted to try the patches to see if they would relieve the pain quickly & without taking pills.

Q2. It was tricky to put on, much easier if someone available to help. The pain relief lasted about 2 hours.

Q3. Yes the patch provided pain relief & was lovely & cooling in this heat.

Q4. Yes, I would definitely use the patches again for similar aches & pains.

Q5.Yes I would definitely recommend them to friends or relatives.

Q6. I think they are good value for short term problems requiring instant relief. They could become quite costly though in the long term.

HeartStarCircleSquare · 06/08/2014 16:55

Sorry I am so late replying!

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

*I am breast feeding and wanted to try them due to back ache that started in pregnancy (and has yet to go away). I also have a lot of hip pain and wanted to try them on this.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

It's a bit of a fiddle to apply and get straight, luckily I'm only breast feeding I'd have had a difficult time while very pregnant to apply to my back without help. I think they lasted about 3 hours

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

the patches are fabulous and really work as they are supposed to, I've used them on back and hip pain and works equally well for both

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

I'd like to but I find the cost prohibitive

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

I absolutely would

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

*It isn't that it isn't good value..because they do work..but for something that only lasts a few hours, it is hard to justify if you are on a budget.

Kelsnack · 06/08/2014 16:59

Q1 - currently 37+4 pregnant with second LG. was experiencing lower back pain from quiet early on and was looking for something to help with this. Usually I react to most creams and wanted to avoid ising medicine unnecessarily.

Q2 - found it easy enough to apply the second time around. First attempt, got a bit tangled and sticky! But after that it was a piece of cake. It lasted about 3 hours.

Q3 - yes it did. Helped a great deal

Q4 - yes definitely use them again. Great alternative to medicine and other forms of painkillers. Will likely be using them while breast-feeding too.

Q5 - yes I do consider it value for money. More likely to buy a pack rather than a single patch just to ensure I have them to hand when needed.

Samichuboo · 06/08/2014 17:15

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.
I am breast feeding, 2month old. Suffered with severe pelvic pain in previous pregnancy and found that alternating between cold and hot worked for me but using ice all the time was not practical. Fortunately not had problem this time but still get some lower back pain especially if sat/stood for prolonged periods which often happens when feeding.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?
Needed help to apply to back, sometimes caught on cloths and moved if I shifted when sat. Could keep on for nearly 3 hours.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?
Did help and more practical than ice.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?
Would use again

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?
Would recommend to use if going out as more des creepy and comfortable

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?
Quiet pricey as something to use on a daily basis but definately when going out

TremoloGreen · 06/08/2014 17:27

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.
Breastfeeding and also have daily muscular upper back/shoulder pain caused by strain and postural problems. I want to avoid taking painkillers every day.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?
It is easy enough to apply to my shoulders but I had to have help putting it in the middle of my back. The cold sensation lasted 40-60 minutes but the pain relief for 2-3 hours.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?
Yes, it totally killed the pain, it was as effective as paracetamol or ibuprofen.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?
Maybe, I'm not sure about the cost though. I'd like to see deep heat patches as I usually prefer that sensation.

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?
Yes

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?
No, not when compared to the price of gels and painkillers. I wouldn't pay this for a product I had to use long-term, for short-term relief and to avoid using painkillers, I might.

Karennza · 06/08/2014 17:27

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

I am breastfeeding an eight month old, and furthermore thought it was worthwhile to investigate a holistic range of pain-killing options, rather than just running for paracetamol and/or ibroprofen all the time.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

It was relatively straightforward to apply it. I found it easy on my shoulders, down each side of my back, and on my neck. However, a lot of my back pain is located in my lower, central back, and I had to have help when using the patches in this area.

The effect of the patch was pretty quick; however, in most locations it quickly rode up over itself. Trying to fix it ultimately proved fruitless. It didn't last long, therefore - I'd say on average only 15 - 20 minutes.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

It's difficult to give a complete answer to this, as it was rendered ineffective. On the whole, though, I'd say yes: it did help. At the very least, the cooling sensation served as a distraction from the pain.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

Yes - at least, if the 'riding up' element were fixed. As noted above, I found them effective whilst they lasted, and would thus be happy to use them again. At this stage, though, I'd only bother if I had shoulder pain, as my bra strap secured the pad in place. I would use the product elsewhere - and therefore buy more of it - but only if the security issues were sufficiently rectified.

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

I would, but again - for the aforementioned reasons - only for people with something like shoulder pain.

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

I think this is pretty steep even for a product that works well, to be honest, and at present the riding issue of these patches makes the price seem way too high. I'd probably end up paying it if I were pushed, but only for pain as described above and only if it were pretty severe. Indeed, once I have stopped breastfeeding, at said price I may be inclined to resume the use of painkillers for such problems.

Overall I thought it was a good product, but it definitely needs tweaked and it would be wise to reconsider the cost.

nomoreminibreaks · 06/08/2014 17:32

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

I'm breastfeeding and, although I was suffering from coccyx pain at the time of applying, that subsided by the time the patches arrived. I do, however, have some ongoing hip pain that I have used the patches for.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

It was easy to apply but apart from the initial cold feel I didn't notice it much.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

I think so, a little.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

I'd be tempted but the cost would put me off. I guess if I was really suffering I'd use them as it would be far easier than reapplying gel/ice packs.

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

Yes as one option, though I can't imagine they'd deal with very bad pain.

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

No, this seems like an awful lot of money.

titchypumpkin · 06/08/2014 17:33

Q.1. I'm breastfeeding a 14 month old. Between carrying her around and her 3 year old bigger sister I get lower back ache. It's more of a niggly pain than a really debilitating pain but annoying enough!

Q.2. Yes I found the patches easy to use, they are floppier than expected but once I got the hang of it I could put them on myself. I think if it was higher up my back I'd need help putting it on though. It lasted between and hour and two hours.

Q.3. Yes it was nice and cooling and soothing.

Q.4. If my back gets worse I would consider getting them again, but for now just trying to go easy on my back and having hot baths etc is probably just as effective.

Q.5. I would probably mention that they're worth having a go, but wouldn't really rave about them because of the cost and the fact they don't last that long.

Q.6. I think they are quite expensive. I'd probably buy them again if I got a more serious pain but not as a matter of routine as the cost would really add up.

JBoston · 06/08/2014 17:34

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

R: I am a breastfeeding mum, I am currently breastfeeding my 1 year old little girl. I suffer with back ache, lower back ache. As it is a constant ache it can make it difficult to carry my little girl and makes general day to day tasks quite difficult.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

R: I found it quite easy to apply the patch and found that the cooling sensation lasted longer than the 3 hours stated. However they can roll up very easily and can be difficult to keep them in place once they have been applied. However very impressed by how long the cooling lasted.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

R: YES! They were very effective and fast acting. I have used on my lower back and also on my upper back and also on my thigh. I found them very very effective.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

R: Yes, most definitely.

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

R: Yes I would.

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

R: Considering how long they last for yes I do think they are, however larger economy packs may be better if needed for an ongoing problem. As if needed every day it could become rather expensive. It is however worth it. :-)

Have been using these to relieve painful boobs whilst waiting for milk to dry up. Bloody brill, better than smelly cabbage.

Maybe they good for when milk comes in too??

Pinkcatgirl · 06/08/2014 18:10

Q1: 21/40 pregnant so unable to take much other than paracetamol and can't even have a hot bath! I've had lower back pain since about 8 weeks pregnant and especially with having to lift and carry a 2 yr old about its quite painful most days of the week.

Q2: they stuck to me fine but did tend to fold over onto themselves as applied. Def easier when another person is around the help get in the right place. Didn't move around once on.

Q3: yes I did find the cooling sensation distracted me from the pain if nothing else! After about 30 mins I'd realise the pain was much better.

Q4: I will def keep on using the ones I have... The pain comes and goes so this week have used most days... Whether I carried in using them would be cost dependent.

Q5: I think over £1. 35 a patch (£5.49 for 4) would make me think twice before buying especially as pregnancy lasts months and could well be needing most days... I've handed in my notice so will be living on 20% of my prev income! Last time I breastfed for 12 months plus and experienced a lot of joint pains daily. Effective treatment would need to be realistically priced for long term use.

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

I am 24 weeks pregnant and I have been suffering lower back pain. Some of this is down to sitting in an office most of the day and it has been a full ache

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

It was easy to apply but apart from the initial cold feel I didn't notice it much. It lasted around 3 hours. The effect was immediate

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

Yes it did and I felt like a kid at Christmas when I was able to put a new one on

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

I would like to but it would depend where I am financially

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

Yes I would I think they are a great drug free alternative

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

No, this seems like an awful lot of money. However I may have to pay it for the relief when they are applied.

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

I am currently breastfeeding my 6 month old. She is going through a clingy phase so I spend a lot of time carrying or wearing her in the sling, and what seems like hours rocking her to sleep at night. By the end of the day, my back is in agony and I'm desperate for some kind of relief but am reluctant to take pills lest they affect her through my milk.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

The patch was fairly easy to apply, and the cold sensation was pleasantly ticklish to start. However I felt like the patch was peeling off so I was constantly smoothing it down. It would be great if there was a way to stick the patch down other than the gel itself.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?

Yes, the patch was very effective at helping with the back pain. I also have De Quervain's Tendonitis and would like to use it on my wrist/thumb but am not sure if it can be cut to fit without affecting the efficacy.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?

If I was still breastfeeding or became pregnant again I would definitely use the patches if I was out and about. At home I'd probably use an ice pack.

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?

Yes I would if they would be willing to spend that kind of money.

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?

Not particularly. They are very expensive per patch so I would use them only if I didn't have access to a bag of frozen peas! For someone who is able to take painkillers, a packet of 16 paracetamol is infinitely cheaper than the patches.

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.

I'm in my third trimester with child 3. General back pain of being in 3rd trimester.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?

Patch easy to apply but wouldn't stick! It relieved my back pain but I had to tape it on with tape. Lasted a good few hours.

Breastfeeding. Have 3 under 3.5 and have breastfed all of them with a preexisting back problem so have taken a battering in the past few years with kids.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?
It was quite difficult to peel the patch from the pad without it wrinkling up, and then it was quite slimed so seemed to slip about quite a bit. It lasted anything from 15 minutes to 2 hours

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?
It felt and smelt refreshing, and seemed the cooling effect helped ease the top back pain but not bottom

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?
I'm not sure I would purchase these personally

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?
Yes as they are worth a try

I think this seems quite steep

Q1 Please say whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding etc and why you wanted to try the patches. Please describe how the muscular aches and pain affect you on a day to day basis.
I am breastfeeding my almost three year old and have occasional headaches with unilateral neck and shoulder pain. I can go weeks without one then have several in a fortnight. No rhyme or reason to them, but when they strike they are nasty and give me nausea, vision disturbance, photophobia. I'm not able to take care of DS when I have one.

Q2 Please describe the application of the patch- how was it to apply? How long did it last?
I had to ask my mum to help me site it on my shoulder as it was too tricky to do it myself, especially as I was nauseous and in pain. I went to sleep with it and it had come off when I got up the next morning so this is hard to say.

Q3 Did the patch help relieve muscular aches and pains?
I don't think so.

Q4 Do you think you'd buy the patches again or continue to use them if you had a similar muscular ache or pain?
Probably not. I tend to believe that most muscular pain responds better to heat than cold.

Q5 Would you recommend them to friends or relations who are also pregnant or breastfeeding or unable to take oral painkillers?
Possibly.

Q5 Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patches cost £1.65 for a single patch and £5.49 for a 4 pack: do you consider this to be good value for money?
It's a cost which would make me think twice, but if the product stopped my headaches then for sure!
