Adventurous MNers needed to test-drive the new Toyota RAV4 – NOW CLOSED

KatieBMumsnet · 23/07/2013 13:43

Following on from the recent Toyota Auris test-drive we're now looking for 8 Mumsnetters and their families to put the new Toyota RAV4 through it's paces!

Here's what Toyota says about the car: "With the all new RAV4, growing up doesn't mean you have to lose your spirit of adventure. Responsive and agile, it was born for exploring, making this the perfect family car for everyday adventure."

For more info on the RAV4 - and to check it's suitable for you and your family's needs please visit the Toyota website.

This test drive is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child aged under 16.

The test drives will be split over 2 waves - 3rd- 16th August and 17th- 31st August. So please only apply if you're around for the duration of one of these waves, and indicate on the sign up form which dates you'd prefer.

Those of you who are selected to take part will need to pick the RAV4 up from one of the following locations:
Bristol
Leeds
Essex
Sunderland
You can either leave your own car at the dealership or arrange for the car to be collected from your home after the test drive.

We're looking for families who can demonstrate everything the RAV4 has to offer. So if you're off on a summer holiday in the UK, would like to take your family on one of the Route 125 adventures or even if you feel your day to day driving can give the RAV4 a real challenge let us know on the sign up form (link below).

Testers will be required to post regular feedback (at least twice a week) on a thread on Mumsnet and also take photos of the test drive. We'd also really like it if testers could try at least one of the adventures from the Toyota RAV4 Route 125 website during the 2 week period (or even create your own adventure!) Photos and comments may be used on Toyota's pages on Mumsnet and possibly elsewhere.

Additionally, we'd like 4 out of the 8 testers to take video feedback throughout the test drive on their smart phone. The videos will need to showcase all of the features the RAV4 has to offer, specifically how it is ideal for everything from summer family adventures, to the weekly supermarket shop. Each of the testers making videos will receive a £30 Love2Shop voucher as an additional thank you!
The videos will be used on Toyota's pages on Mumsnet, hosted on YouTube and possibly elsewhere.

Small print:
In order to take part in the test drive you (and anyone else who will be driving) must:
~ be a UK resident
~ be aged 21 years old or over
~ hold a valid UK driving license
~ have no convictions for dangerous driving.
A driver declaration form will need to be completed; proof of identification and a valid driving licence (both photocard if applicable and paper part) will also need to be presented upon collection of vehicle and continue to be valid before the winner can take the test drive.

So, if you think you and your family can put the RAV4 to the test over the summer holidays please sign up here.

We'll be in touch with those selected by 30th July.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

I have also signed up as off camping and another trip to visit family which both take in toyota route 125 journeys!. I would love to be able to pack all my camping gear in to a rav4 - we currently manage with a peugot 107! It will be me, dh and ds who is 2. Lets see if a rav4 can survive a toddler!

I signed up, but I noticed it only gave you an option to choose ONE vehicle, rather than two. I would like to drive an automatic, but it wouldn't let me choose just the automatics, but rather one or the other. Looking back now I should have put it in the comments section, but being a numpty, I forgot. I would be quite happy to drive either of the automatics.

Would be an amazing opportunity! Haven't had a car for 5 years after becoming a carer for my Mum, now am actually looking to buy so this would be a great way to get back in the saddle but without the horse ;)

signed up...pick me!!! Want to buy a car soon, probably second hand but was veering towards a Honda CRV and DH wanted me to consider the Rav4 so this owuld be perfect!!

Would prefer a manual to an automatic. But either will do.

Sad Would have loved to have taken this on our week away but we don't get back until the 18th so miss the drop off date by 2 days. Guttted, especially as we're following some of that route 125 too.

Love toyota. Both my cars Toyotas from Sunderland dealership so would like to swap my verso for a rav for a while to see if I can cope with downsizing to 5 seats. Love travelling and a test drive gives me an excuse for an adventure ;o)

Do you want us to take one to Iceland to test? Would save us a fortune in hire car costs. We would put it properly through its paces for you, crossing rivers and what not.

Biggest mistake I ever made selling my rav4 back to sunderland I now have their new sport auris and its rubbish, just so bloody noisy even the kids want the 2011 plate yaris back even though their knees were near their chin in the back. Enjoy all those who are testing the older rav4s like mine were lovely, just as long as they haven't made them noisy like they have the new auris&yaris

No email here either, LackaDAISYcal. I was so hopeful I'd be lucky this time - I thought I must have ticked all their boxes. Maybe DD is too young, or something.

Oh well, nevermind. I'm sure my luck will improve eventually! Wink
