I thought the same when I saw the ad. V yummy, V mummy, V vomitty. Please cease and desist. That is awful, awful, awful and instantly cheapens the brand.
Just stop. Please.

I tried the white version. It was delicious. Crisp and light but still felt naughty enough! I would highly recommend this and have subsequently bought this wine for myself. It does. To feel or taste like a lower alcohol version. ?Vie time for me is after a hard week at work, kids in bed, sit down with a chilled glass,, mmmm! Thanks so much blossom hill! I have found my new, slightly less fattening tipple x

Just popping on (even though I wasn't selected for this one) don't like sweet low alcohol pop anyway to agree about the dreadfulness of that ad.

Do women aspire to identify themselves as a 'sweet bubbly sober-ish yummy mummy' - really? Maybe they do Confused

Sorry I'm late to the party!

  1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

White. I thought it was ok, but thought it had a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. I've drunk worse though. That probably says more about me than it does about the wine.
  1. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? A bit like Lambrini.
  2. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? Probably not. My friends who like wine would generally prefer a drier white, I think. I think it tasted 'cheap'. Sorry!
  3. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? Later on in the evening, after I've already had a few.
  4. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? No, I didn't.
  5. Any other thoughts you'd like to share? I was a bit disappointed to be honest. I like sweet wines and I was hoping to find a new favourite. I didn't, I'm afraid.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the white which was lovely, I tried it with dp and he enjoyed it too.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
I would describe it as a smooth fruity wine.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend it and I have to a friend who is always dieting but loves wine, she was really interested in it and will be trying it.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
The perfect 'Vie time' for me is a Saturday evening enjoying a relaxing glass of wine whilst watching tv with dp and the dd's.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes I did, both myself and dp are trying to lose weight for health reasons so this was a nice treat as we could enjoy a couple of glasses without going over our daily calorie allowance.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I would definitely buy this wine again, I think in summer it would make a lovely refreshing spritzer. Thank you to Blossom Hill and Mumsnet for giving us the opportunity to try this.

  1. I tried the white wine. I found the taste very sweet and refreshing, which is just how I like it, and was pleasantly surprised with all the different flavours.

  1. I described the taste as being sweet and very light. I enjoyed it more with lemonade however, as I am not a big drinker and get drunks easily!

  1. I have recommended it to friends, family and my slimming group! I love the fact it is reduced calories so I don't feel so bad having a few glasses on a special occasion. They have been prompted to buy it which has given mixed reviews.

  1. My perfect Vie time would be sitting in the sunshine in a tidy garden(!) with a good book and peace and quiet.

  1. Yes I did and that was the most appealing fact.

  1. No other thoughts, but would like to range expanded if possible to other types of white wine.

Another late one, sorry! Only got round to having a glass or several last week so here goes:

  1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

I requested and got sent the rose, I thought it was lovely!

  1. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

I thought it was a light and balanced taste, fruity but not overly so - agree that it reminded me a bit of Schloer. I lengthened my glasses with sparkling water which made them them really refreshing!

  1. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

Definitely, as soon as spring properly arrives I think it would be a perfect drink for a catch up lunch

  1. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

A nice late lunch in Spring, catching up over a bottle of wine and not feeling guilty about the extra glass!

  1. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

I did because I read it but I reckon this needs to be more of a selling point alongside the lower calories!

  1. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

I think the advert does the wine a bit of a diservice

Argh! Posted too soon.

I think the ad does the wine a bit of a disservice and needs rethinking as I don't think the "yummy mummy" one is a good angle and is more likely to put people off.

Thanks for letting me sample it!

Another late one, ooops...

  1. I requested and received the rose. I usually drink white zinfandel which is a particularly sweet rose. The vie was lovely.

  1. It was sweet and fruity. Less acidic and an easier drink than normal wine. A friend who doesn't normally drink for that reason loved it too.

  1. Would definitely recommend. Great for girly lunches or nights in.

  1. Vie time for me would be a warm summers evening in the garden. Bbq with friends.

  1. Yes, love the thought of a good drink with fewer calories!

  1. Yes. The advertising could ruin a wonderful product before its even begun.  Such a twee concept, very lazy marketing. Doomed to failure I fear.

I was lucky enough to be sent this bottle but unfortunately I hadn't been able to drink this until now and I can honestly say that this is an absolute ideal purchase for any mum with a young child that wants to enjoy a social/relaxing drink but still have a clear head afterwards.

It's extremely light and fruity perfect for a (optimistic) summers evening and will def be a fixture in my fridge!
