The first few questions are about the Primula Cheese PODs:
Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions? DS and myself. DS liked the original ones, but not the cheese n chive ones. I liked both (as a snack).
Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture - a bit plasticky, but not in an unpleasant way (if you know what I mean)
  • Taste - nice - I especially liked the chive ones.
  • Packaging - nice and bright - easy to open. I liked that the two halves stayed attached to each other - easy to recycle (no little bits of packaging to drop under the table).
Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them? No, I didn't try any, sorry. Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc - DS as after school snack. Me as late night snack! Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not? I don't think it would. There are lots of dairy products that are a good source of calcium. Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks? Heathy, but easy to eat/transport. Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not? Yes I would recommend them if it came up in conversation.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk
Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site? He liked the website, but felt it was a bit "babyish" for his age (nearly 10).
Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)? I really liked the games, but they are more suited to younger children I think. I haven't tried the games on my iPhone yet, but I think someone higher up mentioned that they don't work as they use flash. That's a real shame.

Thanks for letting us try out the PODs.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk
Q1. Only my son looked at it, he thought it was fab, especially the games. Pitched at his level but not much for anyone 10+ but I guess that's not what you are aiming at anyway
Q2. Its fun

costumequeen · 19/12/2012 14:03

Q1. Myself, DH and DD (2). Had to restrain DH from eating them all so he liked them, DD was ok but not overly keen and I thought they were ok.
Q2. DD preferred the original one, but me and Dh liked the chive one. DD loved the packaging - thought it looks like a duck. They were easy to open but I would want them to be recyclable.
Q3. No - prefer to use standard (cheaper) cheese when cooking.
Q4. Part of lunch for DD, and afternoon snack.
Q5. No more than any other cheese.
Q6. Low salt/sugar
Q7. Yes as they were handy and hit the cheesy snack time spot!
Q1. DD is only 2 so not really into computers - she liked the 'mouses' but didn;t really get the games as such.
Q2. My DD is a bit young for it, but it seemed quite cute and engaging. Took a little while to load though.

Madd40 · 19/12/2012 16:37

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions? Dd and myself. We both loved the packaging / look of the cheese.
Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture- plasticy
  • Taste - dd was excited to try, however did not really like due to texture / taste.
  • Packaging -great. attractive / easy to open
Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them? We used the leftover cheese to make a cheese sauce for pasta which was really nice. (unfortunately there was no receipe on the website for this) Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc they were eaten by dd as an after school snack Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not? Yes it would encourage me, as i do have problems getting dd to go anywhere near dairy products apart from certain cheeses. Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks? It has to be healthy / nutritious Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not? Even though dd wasn't that keen on the PODs i would still encourage friends etc to try these as what one child dislikes another may like.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk
Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site? dd loved all of the site, however i think the games were the biggest hit.
Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)? More recipies would be nice as the characters mention their favourites but they are not on the website. Maybe some more colouring pages.

mymar · 19/12/2012 16:42

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?
Both Ds's and me tried them and initial impressions were ok.

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture
  • Taste
  • Packaging

Love the packaging, very easy to open, nice sized portion, preferred the taste of the cheese with chives which had more flavour, the plain cheese was similar to other products that we have had. The texture was smooth and not sticking to the roof of your mouth like other products do.

Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them?
No, I didn't try the recipes because we havent had time.

Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc
As a snack for school. I'm afraid Ds 9yr didn't really like them. I thought they are ideal for putting in your hand bag for when the hunger pains start

Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not?
It wouldn't encourage me to buy this particular produce because the Ds's didn't really like them very much.

Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks?
Healthy and tasty, easy to open with minimal packaging. And affordable.

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?
I would mention it because the concept is good.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk

Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?
Ds wasn't impressed with the site, I think the loading time was an issue.

Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?
Make it more interesting for older children, something that will hold their attention.

Mindingalongtime · 19/12/2012 17:21

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?

I tried it first and thought i was vile, and couldn't get rid of the taste! I didn't let the DCs see me spit it out or taste it first to cloud their opinion!

The 5 year old, - yuck! Spat it out!

The 4 year old didn't like the taste, "it tastes of sour milk" how does she know that? But her favourite cheese is Stilton

The 17 month threw it up!

The 19 month old loved it

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture - Pappy and artificial
  • Taste - sour
  • Packaging - Loved how easy it was to open!

Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them?

No, the cheese is too vile to do anymore with, the chickens will probably end up with them, or I will take them to toddler group tomorrow! The children couldn't be persuaded to try the cheese and chive, I did, again awful - sorry!

Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc -

As afternoon snack with water biscuits

Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not?

I am never taken in by claims such as this!

Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks?

More natural , less processed products

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?

Definitely not and friends would wonder why on earth I was suggesting such snacks, as it is not normally on my list of products I give children!

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk

Took too long to load and navigate and was disturbed by the first few lines of one of the stories that one of the mice went about and never came back, prompted too many questions that they are not ready to hear the answers to yet!

Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?

They don't normally use such sites, so it didn't hold their attention for long

Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?

JulesJules · 19/12/2012 17:24

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?
We all (me, DH, DD1 (11) and dd2 (8) tried them. Initial impressions were that they were a bit bland and tasted like processed cheese.

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture
  • Taste
  • Packaging
Texture fine. We all thought the original was too bland tasting (usually we eat quite strong tasting cheese) but the cheese and chive ones were tastier. The packaging I thought was excellent. Would make them an ideal lunch box addition, easy enough to open for the children.

Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them?
We didn't try any.

Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc
After school snack.

Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not?
Well they obviously are as they are cheese. It wouldn't make me buy them over any other cheese - I would go for the cheese that tasted best.

Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks?
Not too high in sugar or salt. If in packaging, then something easy to open. Something that the children will eat.

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?
For the packaging I would. Other children might like the taste better.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk
Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?
They both (aged 11 and 8) thought the site was too babyish for them and obviously aimed at younger children.

Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?
Something for older children.

lia66 · 19/12/2012 17:49

not any more than I would anyway.

No branded marketing, and nutritious. Price is a consideration

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?

Yes, I'd say I'd had these and that my dc's liked them

lia66 · 19/12/2012 17:55

Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?

Dc's (9, 7, 5, ) initial impressions were nice, bit slow to load. music bit irritating, liked that we could turn it off.

Liked the beach area, dd aged 5 liked to print pictures to colour.
Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?

My dc's would have liked more detailed dinosaurs and more options, maybe something other than spots, suggestions were, stripes, zigzags and patchwork.
Also would like the island to actually do something if you click on bits of it, ie exploding volcano perhaps, splashing water.

Dc's all liked the maths square, ds, (9) would have played on that longer than i allowed. x

glentherednosedbattleostrich · 19/12/2012 19:35

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?
DD aged 2 and my mindees aged 2 and 1 all tried them. The 2 year olds loved them and found pulling the pods apart hilariously funny, the 1 year old wasn?t impressed. I tried the original pod.

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture
  • Taste
  • Packaging
I found the cheese to be a bit rubbery and bland to be honest but the 2 year olds loved it. DD really enjoyed the cheese n chive PODs, she was not pleased that others were allowed to try them! They loved the packaging, the 2 year olds could open them themselves which went down well.

Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them?
No we didn?t

Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? Etc
The POD?s were eaten as a snack when out and about, they were very handy to carry about and made a nice change from raisins.

Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not?
Wouldn?t make much difference as the children get plenty of calcium anyway.

Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks?
Healthy, easy to get into, tasty.

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?
I would and have mentioned to parents of my mindees how much they enjoyed them.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk
Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?
DD quite liked the dinosaur game but was a bit too young for the site.

Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?
It could do with a few more options for under 4s as this is the ideal snack for littlies. I do like the colouring pages and the mouse characters were popular too.

AlexReidsLonelyThisChristmas · 19/12/2012 19:36

The first few questions are about the Primula Cheese PODs:
Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?

Dc1,aged 5 years and dc2 aged 18 months. The 5 year old was very excited to receive them.

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture
  • Taste
  • Packaging

The texture was descibed as smooth and creamy, not rubbery like some mini cheeses, the taste was reported as very nice, cheesy and not too strong, the chive ones weren't as popular due to the 'bits'. The packaging was nice and bright and easy to open.

Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them?

We used them as suggested for pizza, they melted well and the children finished the lot, I used the chive pods for extra flavour and it has been requested again since.

Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc

Lunchbox snack and after school mainly. We don't tend to use cheese as a treat as in our house that alongside yoghurt and fruit is freely available. I can see how these could be more 'treat-ish' as the packaging makes them seem a bit more special I suppose.

Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, but I would always check the nutrition claims myself on the packaging and website before making the final decision to buy.

Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks?

Child size portion sizes, child friendly packaging, low salt/additives, natural ingredients etc

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?

i probably would if the conversation came around to handy snacks.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk
Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?

Dc1 enjoyed the characters and the little games

Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?

We wouldn't normally go onto a website just because a food product was promoting it tbh. However Dc1 enjoyed it and it seemed very safe and child friendly.

Thank you very much for the products, they went down very well and dc1 felt very important doing her 'taste tests' Xmas Grin.

Greenoes · 19/12/2012 20:01

Q1. DS 2 (8) and DP (40) tried them - they were both excited to try them as the LOVE cheese!

Q2. Texture : "a bit rubbery and a bit smooth" "like Babybell but nicer"
Q2. Taste : "both tasted very cheesy - preferred the plain cheese flavour" "tasted very nice, wished it was bigger"
Q2. Packaging : "liked the picture, very easy to open"

Q3. We didn't try the recipes as the cheese monsters ate them so quickly but would try the recipes in the future.

Q4. As part of a packed lunch.

Q5. Yes, it is important to me that my family eat healthily.

Q6. Nutritious, fun, easy to open without help.

Q7. I would recommend this snack to people with children, and have told my family to watch out for them in the shops.

Thank you for letting us be part of this survey GrinSmile

RedcupsforChristmas · 19/12/2012 21:22

1 me hubby ds4 and ds2, none of us would buy them again. The boys not impressed.
2 packaging great easy to open. Taste very artificial, the herby one tasted of plastic texture again didnt seem like cheese, too wet.
3 no, didnt want to!
4 lunch, lunchbox and picknick. The lunchbox ones came back uneaten.
5 no i think my boys would rather eat normal cheese, and drink milk so i think they get enough calcium.
6 easy to open, all natural, appealing packaging that says food rather than toy.
7 no, in competition with products like babybel (babybel acually tastes like cheese) this is like a cheap budget knockoff. Wouln not recommend.

billybear · 19/12/2012 21:35

Pinkbatrobi · 19/12/2012 21:35

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?
Me (48), DH (48) DS (10)
I'm afraid this didn't go very well: DH hated both of them, DS tried an original and spat it out and refused outright to even try the chives ones because of the "bits". I quite liked the look of them when they arrived and I ended up eating the rest, so as not to waste it, but I must say, it doesn't beat a nice chunk of Parmesan or Manchego!!! I found them good for a little snack and kept one in the bag for "emergencies''. As I am trying to diet, the portion size was just right.

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture was fine, maybe a bit too "smooth" for me.
  • Taste - A bit artificial, like most processed cheese, better than cheese strings that DS does like though. I preferred the chives ones as a bit tastier.
  • Packaging - seemed to make sense for little children, but at my DS age it wouldn't necessarily make much difference, and it seems a lot of plastic for just a little cheese - no mention of where to dispose of. Recyclable? DH thought they looked too much like the little soaps you find in hotels...
Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them? No, didn't seem worth it, sorry. Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc DEFINITELY not a treat, they were eaten as a snack. Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not? Not really - I try to feed the family non processed fresh food, and I am sure we get enough calcium from milk and "real" cheese. Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks? Healthy- i.e. non processed, no added salt, sugar, aspartame, acesulfaltame, Monosodiumglutammate, hydrogenated fats, artificial colours etc etc etc and also not gimmicky! Children should get used to eat with the rest of the family WHAT the rest of the family eats, because it tastes good, because it is good for them, not because they have games on their homepage. Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not? Probably not. Seems too plasticky.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk
Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?
Again, I am afraid that DS took one look at the homepage and said that it was too "babyish" and could he go back to minecraft please....
Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)? Can't really comment on this one. It depends what age range you are targeting. Maybe my DS is just a bit too old for his kind of games?

snice · 19/12/2012 23:17

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?

Me, DH and DS(8)-DD wouldn't try them as hates cheese. First taste-found to be OK but nothing to shout about

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture

A bit rubbery

  • Taste

Bland-all of us would rather have something with a stronger taste. Chive slightly better than plain

  • Packaging
We all liked the packaging-easier to open than many of these sorts of things

Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them?

No we didnt-they didnt really appeal

Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc

After school or other snack-def. not a 'treat'

Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not?

NO- all cheese is a good source of calcium

Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks?

Don't really buy many childrens' snacks. I suppose low sugar/no additives/natural flavours

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?

Unlikely to come up. NOt really something I'd buy or recommend. DS would rather have a lump of mature cheddar. The product seems to be designed for people who don't really like cheese.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk

Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?

Not really

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions? Me, DP and DS. Like the packaging for ease to open. DP wasn't keen to try as he doesn't like processed food.
Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture
  • Taste
  • Packaging
As above, the packaging was easy to open, I would be happy sending DS into school with it in the lunchbox as I know he could open it himself. DP and DS didn't like the texture or the taste, saying they found them rubbery and not as good as a babybel. I didn't mind the texture and preferred the flavour of the plain cheese. Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them? We haven't tried the recipes as they don't like the cheese. Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc. I tried DS with one after school, when he is at his most hungry. DP and I tried later on in the day Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not? It wouldn't make any difference to me, DS only drinks milk or water so I have no concerns about his calcium intake. Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks? Easy to open, healthy, natural Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not? I probably would recommend for ease of transport and opening.

Now just a couple of questions about the POD Island website www.primulapods.co.uk
Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site? It caught the attention of DS but didn't really hold it. the games don't work on the Ipad and we have no printer which left only the stories to read.
Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? DS would have enjoyed playing the games, but they need Flash to run.

1 - DP, DS & DD. I would've tried them but they were all gone before I had a chance. The packaging was great, very easy to open. Reviews were mixed to say the least! DP hated them, DS wasn't keen & DD loved them. They arrived at lunch time, but were all gone by evening thanks to DD.
Q2 Texture As above DP hated it. Thought it was much too soft. DS also felt it was a bit too soft. DD liked them - she thought they were just right.
Taste DS liked the taste, he just wasn't keen on the texture. DD loved it, preferred it to ordinary cheddar as it was creamier.
Packaging As above - very easy to open. Fab for little hands!
Q3 No - didn't get a chance thanks to cheese monster DD!
Q4 They were eaten throughout the day, but in the normal run of things they'd be ideal in a lunchbox or straight after school as a handy snack
Q5 I wouldn't be too bothered about this. My two eat plenty of cheese & yoghurt so it wouldn't influence me.
Q6 Easy to open, low salt & no artificial colours
Q7 I'm not too sure. I'd definitely recommend them for the ease of opening, but there were such mixed opinions on the actual cheese that I'm not sure I'd tell someone else to buy them

Q1 Neither of mine were particularly impressed. I think at 8 & 10 they're probably a bit older than the website target group
Q2 Nothing comes to mind

Thank you for allowing us to try them

BellaVida · 20/12/2012 13:13

Firstly, the pods arrived well packaged and chilled, but they didn't even make it into the fridge, as the children intercepted them first!

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?
My 4 children, ages 9,6,6,2 tried them. The plain first and then the chive.

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture
  • Taste
  • Packaging

Texture was good. Not too rubbery, but not sticky so they didn't get in a mess. Fine to bite into with wobbly teeth too!
The 9 and 6 year old liked the plain ones, but my 2 year old spat it out. Said they were ok and similar taste to other mini cheeses they have tried. They did like the flavour of the chive, but said it would be better if the herbs were more finely chopped.
Packaging was very good. Easy to open themselves, even my 2 year old could manage it.

Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them?
No. Any recipes I do for the family require quite large volumes, so it works out better value to get family packs of grated cheese.

Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc
Just as a snack as soon as they came thought the door! If I think the packaging was the novelty if I am being honest, but they do like trying new things.

Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not?
No. All dairy products provide this and mine already drinks a lot of milk daily, plus yogurts etc.

Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks?
Healthy, no artificial additives, tasty, good value and can be easily used outside the home.

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?
No more than I would any other kids cheese product.

About the web site.
Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?
I think it was aimed at quite young children. It didn't really hold their attention.
Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?
Main pages could be more dynamic/interactive. Perhaps different areas targeted at different ages. The navigation is not very clear. My children only really use the iPad and the games don't work on that.

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions? Myself, DS1 (aged 5) and DS2 (aged 3)
Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture
  • Taste
  • Packaging
Texture: wasn't liked by any of us, far too rubbery. Taste: the original didn't taste too bad but the cheese and chive were much too strong, even for my children who adore mature cheddar. Think it may have been the 'green bits' that put them off.
  • Packaging: this was a great hit as both children were able to open the packs themselves.
Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them? - No, we didn't try the recipes Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc - As a snack as soon as they were posted through the door! Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not? - yes Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks? - healthy, not too expensive and easy to store/transport in lunch boxes Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not? - no. Horrible taste and probably far too expensive for what they are (very gimmicky)

Q1. Who in your family tried the Primula PODs? What were your/their initial impressions?
Me, DH, DD (5). DS (2) flatly refused to even contemplate trying it.
Nobody liked them though, sorry.

Q2. In particular what did you and your family think of the following in relation to both the original PODs and the Cheese N Chive PODs?

  • Texture - soft, similar to Babybel, not especially different.
  • Taste - nasty. Both tasted very processed, and left a strange aftertaste in the mouth that everyone commented on. DD didn't like the chive one at all, DH and I both slightly preferred it to the plain one.
  • Packaging - we all liked it, DD thought it would be easy to open for packed lunches/snacks.

Q3. Did you try any of the Primula PODs recipes from the Primula website? If so which one(s) and what did you think of them?
No, since nobody liked the taste of the PODs there didn't seem much point to be honest.

Q4. When were the PODs eaten? As an after school snack? As part of a lunchbox? As a treat? etc
As a snack after school (DH and I tried them after dinner one evening).

Q5. "Primula PODs are a good source of calcium", would this statement encourage you to buy this product or not? If so, why? If not why not?
It wouldn't encourage me to buy PODs over any other processed cheese product available (Babybel, Cheese strings etc). Both my kids get plenty of calcium in their normal diet, so I'm not really looking for additional sources even though it would have been nice to have the option!

Q6. What features do you ideally want to see from children's snacks?
Some nutritional benefit, so the calcium in these would count for me.

Q7. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Primula PODs to a friend/relative? If so why? If not, why not?
Probably not, as nobody liked the taste of them at all. I was really disappointed.

Q1. What did your DC think of the website? Were there any aspects they particularly liked or disliked? Did they have a favourite area of the site?
DD didn't look at it, I offered to show her after she'd tried the PODs but she said since she didn't like them there was no point.

Q2. Is there anything else you'd like to see on the website? Any areas for improvements? What did you like most about the website for your child(ren)?
I think the website is fairly good, actually. There's plenty on there for kids to do, and I do think DD would enjoy the games (and colouring) if I could convince her to look at it.
