NOW CLOSED: Tesco’s Naturally Powered (antibacterial spray or non-bio washing powder) product testers review thread

AnnMumsnet · 01/05/2012 14:54

This thread is for the 1000 Mumsnetters who are trying out the Naturally Powered range of cleaning products by Tesco.

If you don't know about these products, here's what Tesco has to say:

"In the past, green cleaning products have been let down by their performance. Working closely with a team of chemists, scientists and environmental experts, we have created the Naturally Powered range of eco cleaning products - specially formulated to have a reduced impact on the environment than other leading products and with the cleaning performance you'd expect."

Mumsnetters have been testing either the antibacterial spray or the non-bio washing powder. In addition, all testers received a trial-sized sachet of washing up liquid.

If you are a tester, please state which product you were testing and answer the questions below - feel free to also add any other comments you may have.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one person will win £200 of Tesco vouchers.

Questions:

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I tested the spray

Q1 labelling ok but not v interesting but keep thinking it says powdered.
Q2 worked as well as any other but no better. Like the smell.
Q3 nicer smell but equal performance
Q4 v important though I do lapse. I try to buy green and am always pleased to try a new one as not found one yet I am loyal to
Q5 possibly. Will depend on value for money. Will definitely consider
Q6 the spray has been a bit drippy but not enough for me to dislike it. Packaging is ok but could be more interesting, stand out, look more Eco. Method do better packaging
Q7 might suggest they try if looking for green products

ArfurBrain · 10/05/2012 19:19

I tested washing powder
What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Hadn't come accross them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your overall opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I really liked the smell - fresh and not too chemically. The powder worked ok - not fabulous, but ok. I used it on a white wash at 30degrees.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
It was good - better wash than other 'eco' products i have used but not alas, as effective as the Big Bad Boys like Persil!

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, if it was also not too expensive.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Possibly. probably.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Don't know.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably as an alternative to other eco-products which aren't especially effective.

Phlox · 10/05/2012 19:30

I tested the washing powder.

Q1. No opinion - had never noticed them instore before. I usually buy liquid detergent - whatever is on offer.

Q2. It worked fine. I don't usually use powder but was pleasantly surprised - smelt nice but not overpoweringly so and there was no residue left in the drawer or streaks on the clothes. I was really taken with the dinky little paper cup. Much better than the millions of plastic ones I have collected over the years. I liked the fairly simple design of the packaging. Overall quite impressed.

Q3. Was comparable - no better or worse in terms of performance.

Q4. My choice tends to be driven by budget at the moment. In an ideal world I would by eco products but they are normally too expensive.

Q5. Quite possibly, but depends entirely on the price. If it was a reasonable price I would.

Q6. None really except I think the plastic wrapping in the box is unnecessary and at odds with the environmentally friendly nature of the product.

Q7. Yes I would - I think it is a good product.

pinksarah100 · 10/05/2012 19:30

Q1. I use the cleaning products regularly. I always choose Eco cleaning products as feel they clean as well as more chemical based ones
Q2 I trailed the washing powder. The powder was packaged well and smelt fresh on opening. The main issue I had was most of it stayed in the dispensing drawer, even though this is how it was explained to be used. I had to either flush through the drawer after about 10mins running time (not very convenient) or put it in the drum (not sure if it worked as effectively when used this way). I am also dubious as to the number of washes expected out of a box (13expected, 6actual washes) using the measurements for a normal load at medium hardness. I expect some less washes due to the water hardness but not less that half!
Q3 The product worked as well as my usual brand of non-bio powder
Q4 Green products are very important to me. I want myself & my children exposed to as fewchemicals a s possible
Q5 I will continue to use the dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid & cleaning products but not the washing powder.
Q6 The product needs to dissolve better in the dispensing draw
Q7 I would recommend as in Q5

hpsaucy · 10/05/2012 19:36

Q1. Didn't know about them

Q2. Really liked the smell, didn't hit the back of your throat!!

Q3. It worked just as well as my usual,

Q4. Not something I consider, price comes first

Q5. Would depend on price

Q6. none

Q7. yes

H007 · 10/05/2012 19:44

We had the spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I like the idea of them just worried if they came up to scratch.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? Yes I was happy with the products and liked the idea of using them with around my baby.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? I always use what's on offer so better than some worse than others.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? If it's called Naturally Poweres then I'd expect it to be 100% naturally powered. Price is a big issue.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Depends on price or others

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? No

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes I would comment on how it the same as some of the leadin brands yet without all the nasty stuff.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 10/05/2012 19:46

I tested the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I'd never heard of the range.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? It seems to work well, but does get a bit stuck in the powder drawer of our washing machine. The powder has cleaned some very muddy camping clothes at 30 degrees. The smell is a little overpowering in the box, but leaves the clothes smelling clean and fresh

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Worked just as well as our usual tablets (tesco colour, non bio)

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I like the fact that it is Eco friendly but this alone wouldn't be enough to make me buy it. It would have to be competitively priced too.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
If it's not too expensive, possibly, but the little cup and awkward bag of powder has annoyed me immensely. If there was a tablet version that was well priced then I could be persuaded.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I'd like it in tablet form rather than lose powder with a cup.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not why not?
If a friend was after an Eco friendly washing powder then I would recommend it's cleaning ability, but not the lose powder.

Thanks to mn and tesco for letting me try this product.

Earthymama · 10/05/2012 19:49

I am testing the Washing Powder
Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I have used Tesco's Own Natural products in the past, they are OK

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
*Overall, it was OK.
Washed clothes and towels well
Fairly Happy
I don't like highly perfumed products, it smelled strong in the box but was neutral on the washing

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I think it was just as effective, in fact the towels looked really fresh.Though as I had dried them in the garden and looked at them in bright sunshine that might have influenced my opinion.
I liked the little cup

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Very, very important, I always use products that have as little negative impact as possible
Would definately affect my decision, I would like clearer information on the packet
I would want to know about any animal testing of this product and its ingredients I am also thrifty so price would also play its part
Why was ther a box and a bag?e

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
If there is a washing liquid for clothes, I don't like powder and the residue in the drawer, I would consider it if it compared favourably to Ecover. I prefer to refill Ecover wherever possible

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Less packaging More information

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

I don't tend to have those conversations with friends, I didn't know they happened in real life, but I would tell DD, DDiL and DP that it is OK

TheLurkiestLurker · 10/05/2012 19:55

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Hadn't come across them before

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

I used the antibacterial spray which I thought was very good, cleaned as well as my normal one but had a nicer smell and not as 'fumey'

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

As above, seemed to work just as well but more pleasant. Obviously I can't see the germs to check properly ;)

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

I'd always prefer to buy greener products, but have been concerned in the past that they don't work as well as the harsher ones

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

Possibly, depends on price

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Can't think of any

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would if we were taking about environmentally friendly cleaning products

goingdownhill · 10/05/2012 19:59

I used the washing powder.

Q1. I had heard of the range but I wasn't sure they would perform as well as my usual products.

Q2. My overall opinion of the product was good. I liked the smell, I liked the little cup that came with it. I did find the powder being in a bag a bit fiddly and unnecessary. I thought that it performed well on my children's very muddy forest school clothes. I would use it again.

Q3. I thought that the product worked equally well as my usual powder. I liked the scent more though.

Q4. The green credentials are a factor in choosing a product but not the deciding ones. I have to put value for money above as we are on a tight budget. If the price was equal I would of course go for the more environmentally sound option.

Q5. I would use it again if it is of a similar price to the brand I currently use.

Q6. I thought it was fine but would not put the powder into a bag. I would personally redesign the packaging as I don't feel it is very eye catching amongst an aisle full of brightly coloured boxes, hence I had never noticed it before.

Q7. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Smile
Timeformeplease · 10/05/2012 20:09

I tested the spray.

Q1. My opinion previously was that they were unlikely to work as well as other products and be more expensive.

Q2. I did like the spray, it worked as well as my usual anti bac spray and had a nicer smell. The smell was not overpowering, I do also use a stronger kitchen cleaning spray normally but don't like the over powering smell and/or artifical colours.

Q3. As above, it worked as well or perhaps slightly better than my usual anti-bacterial spray.

Q4. In theory I would like to be more "green" when choosing cleaning products (I consider these issues more when buying food). I don't like to risk money on dearer products that don't work so well however so I am generally cautious.
If products are close in price I will definitely consider trying others in the range now that I know one works well.

Q5. I will consider Naturally Powered products, particularly where I am not especially fond of the products I normally buy (not loyal to one particual product).

Q6. I liked the smell, packaging was standard - I wouldn't change this actually as I trusted it more because it looked like other products on the shelf I think. The label could be a bit brighter maybe.

Q7. If I was discussing cleaning products, or green products, I would probably recommend this, but it is not so different that I am telling all my friends about it yet!

BiscuitsandBaileys · 10/05/2012 20:15

I used the washing powder.

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I had never heard of them before.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I was very happy with the product. It worked well and smelt nice.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I think it worked just as well as my usual cleaning product.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
The green credentials are important to me, and if the price was ok then I would buy the product. I am not sure why the powder needs to be in a bag and a box though?

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I would continue to buy the washing powder if it was an affordable price to me.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I would like it a tablet form and I would get rid of the bag.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, because it worked well.

Craftymoo · 10/05/2012 20:17

Q1. I had never noticed them in local store.
Q2. I was pleased with the cleaning power, clean lemony smell- not over powering. I liked the fact that you could spray or stream the product, as needed
Q3. worked as well as usual brand.

Q6. None

  1. Nice smell, I like the spray action - it worked well.
  1. Not as good as Cif (my ususal brand).
  1. Green credentials are not at all inmportant to me.
  1. Yes, I'd buy it again.
  1. None.
  1. Yes - it worked fine. I can't imagine it coming up in conversation though.
Haribojoe · 10/05/2012 20:34

I've been testing the kitchen cleaning spray.

Before taking part in this product test I hadn't heard of the product so didn't have an opinion.

I was very impressed by the product. The spray worked really well, I used on my workflow, cupboards, highchair tray and dining room table. I love the choice of two different settings on the nozzle, a really useful feature. The spray cleaned well and I loved the smell if was clean and fresh without being too scented or chemically.

Compared to my usual product I would say that the Tesco spray was much better.

Green credentials are something I try and consider when buying cleaning products especially as I have a large family and so try to be mindful on out impact on the environment.

I would buy this product again as it worked so well.

The only improvement I would suggest is that the nozzle did tend to leak slightly when using the product, it was only a small amount and is the only negative comment I have.

I will recommend this product to others as it worked so well and is an environmentally conscious choice.

Thanks to Tesco and MN Smile

mumtoallgirls · 10/05/2012 20:42

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Non descript. I probably wouldnt buy them or notice them in a shop, unless i they were on special offer and id seen some advertising to know what made them any different.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?

Products did work and smelt nice, no real difference to how clothes felt.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?

No different. My daughter has eczema, didnt cause any problems.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?

Makes me feel better to buy green, if i can buy green, worked just as good as usual powder, didnt fade clothes, iritate my girls skin and wasnt a stupid price ie: at least the same as most other powders, id buy knowing it does work

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?

knowing it works i will look out for.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?

Dont think i would.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

if i had a friend who was looking for a working powder and had a child with sensitive skin, id probably tell them to try.

modingo · 10/05/2012 20:49

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
Sceptical, have tried other eco cleaning products with mixed results, so I wasn't too optimistic about the chances of the spray cleaner.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I was very pleasantly surprised. Cleaned extremely well, although I found that I had to spray and wait a little longer than with my usual cleaner. Worktop, table and tiles all sparkling. Lovely fresh smell, the fact that it was clear give the impression that it is not as harsh as other non eco cleaner.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
All in all it worked just as well.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I usually use a radioactive looking spray sparingly, so I feel I could use this with abandon. The green credentials would be a major plus, but they are not really the first thing I take into account- I just want something effective.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes, i would buy it...if it is at a competitive price.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
Can't really see how you could improve, certainly the best eco cleaner I've used.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes!

ttalloo · 10/05/2012 21:05

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't seen them in store, so didn't know they existed, but in general I haven't been convinced that 'natural' cleaning products are as effective as ones full of chemicals.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I tested the washing powder. The smell of it was OK, and over four washes this week the powder seems to have done a good job of getting stains out of the children's clothes (which included blood, chocolate and grease). But I washed at 40 degrees, not 30, and it now seems that I may have been overdosing my machine. The packaging states that one cup = 30g, and for bigger machines (which mine is) to add another 15g or half a cup. But the cup has a line half-way up, saying fill to here for 30g. As a result I got only four washes out of my box. Both of them can't be right so dosing information needs to be double-checked. Also, other testers have complained of powder residue being left on clothes, which I haven't had (despite possibly overdosing) - maybe because I've been washing at 40 degrees.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I normally use Surcare, and Naturally Powered washes as well as that.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
The green credentials matter to a point, but I won't pay a significant premium for them.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I would continue to buy the washing powder it but only if it's competitively priced against Surcare. At the moment I don't know how much it costs. I liked the washing-up liquid, and based on my liking for that and the washing powder, I'd be happy to try and continue using other products in the range (like the spray), but only if they are not more expensive than the products I'm currently using. Price is very important at the moment and, while environmental issues matter to me, I'm not prepared to spend more on environmentally friendly products.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
To double-check the dosing instructions so that they are clear - and to offer an unscented version. I didn't mind the smell of the washing powder but I actually prefer my washing not to smell of anything.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not.
Yes, I would, but balanced against the right pricing.

chrissie66 · 10/05/2012 21:20

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?
I hadn't heard of them before so had no opinion.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
The washing powder performed well. It removed light stains successfully. The fragrance was pleasant but I felt it could be a little stronger.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
The washing powder seemed to work as well as my usual washing powder but I do prefer the fact that my usual one has added fabric conditioner which make clothes feel softer.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
The green credential is an important factor but my decision to buy the product would be based on price and performance.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
I would buy if the price was reasonable and the performance was good.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I would prefer it to have added fabric conditioner.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Maybe.

Bubbyd · 10/05/2012 21:31

I tested the washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I was skeptical as to how effectic it would be as I have tried Ecover products before and been disappointed with the results.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? The washing powder did a brilliant job. I used it over a few different types of wash typical in this house, some with conditioner and some without. It did very well, removing everything I would expect a washing powder to remove. I tend to use a stain removal bar on the necks of my toddlers clothes as she gets in a right mess but the powder coped well. It didn't leave much scent on the washing when used alone but I wouldn't expect a powder to be leaving a scent. I loved that the measuring cup was card and not plastic. Not something I would have thought about before!

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? I have been using Persil non-bio since I left home as thats what my mum has always used on my sensitive skin but this out performed the persil.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? My husband and I are both ecologists and we would love to use products that are better for the environment, on the proviso that they get my daughters clothes clean. I have tried soapnuts to try and be more sensitive to the environment but they are only really suitable for lightly soiled clothes.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? Providing the price was fair!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? None. Was pretty impressed!

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes.

Didi75 · 10/05/2012 21:39

I thought the products would be effective as I have tried the method products before with great results.

I really liked the products and they worked really well. I was happy with the results as it left my work surfaces nice and clean and smelling really fresh. You could smell it after just using it.

I normally use method antibacterial spray in my kitchen and this product is on a par with that in my opinion.

I am all for products that are good for the environment and are green and friendly. However, these are usually more expensive.

I would definately buy the products again.

There are no improvements to make in my opinion.

I would recommend them to a friend.

fruitypuds · 10/05/2012 22:09

Q1. Highly dubious, based on previous supermarket-brand 'green' products.

Q2. I liked the smell, as it's quite subtle. It's impossible to tell whether the antibacterial spray 'worked' because I don't know how many bacteria were killed! The spray nozzle and trigger were good.

Q3. It felt comparable to my usual spray (Sonett) to use.

Q4. The eco nature of it is very important to me. I use almost exclusively 'green' products, with the only exception being occasional bleach when necessary, e.g. to remove mould.

Q5. I would buy it if I ran out of my usual brand, but will not otherwise switch. The Tesco one isn't as natural as the Sonett.

Q6. I would prefer to see no chemical ingredients at all. Perfume is an irritant and could be anything! Why not use natural essential oils? And a simple vegetable alcohol preservative (doubling as an antibacterial) could replace the chemical preservative Benzisothiazolinone.

Q7. I would definitely recommend them over the alternatives that Tesco sell, but as greener products are available in other shops and online, I would recommend those overall.

TeenyLeek · 10/05/2012 22:14

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I wasn't aware of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
I used the washing powder and thought it was really good. We live in a hard water area so I had to use quite a lot for a load of toddler and baby clothes which were pretty filthy, but it definitely worked well. Found the smell a bit overpowering, but I usually use ecover so I'm not used to products with strong smells.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
I think it was probably a bit better, but I did measure it out properly and I don't usually do that with my usual stuff! I'd say to get the same results I'd usually have to use a stain remover/ soak some things in advance, but didn't have to with this.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
Friendly to the environment is very important to me and so is being gentle on my family's skin. I have to admit I was a bit suspicious of the product because the perfume was so strong. Price also a deciding factor.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
Possibly. I don't really shop in tesco often but if I'm passing and the price is right I probably would give it another go.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I like having washing that smells nice, but I did find the perfume a bit overpowering.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I did think it was good.

Anti-bac Spray

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them?

Had never noticed/heard of them.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products?
Worked as well but no better than most other spray cleaners. Liked the smell and noticed it on going back into the room a little later. Nozzle very hard to turn initially but was then fine. Did not think the washingup liquid was very effective.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use?
Didn't notice any difference with the spray.
Washing up liquid did not seem as effective as my usual nor last as long.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would buy 'green' if the product was as good as, but no more expensive than, the alternatives.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not?
For the spray, yes, if they compete on price.
For the washing up liquid, no, because it wasn't as good as Fairy.

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing?
I don't like the use of palm oil and would like that replaced.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would comment that I liked the smell probably but it's not a normal topic of conversation for me.

I'm trying the washing powder

Q1. What was your opinion of the Naturally Powered products before using them? I was aware of them and had used them very occasionally, but I was sceptical about how 'green' they really were compared to my usual eco brand.

Q2. After using the products, what was your over all opinion? Did the products work? Were you happy with the performance? Did you like the smell and feel of the products? It worked fine in that the laundry was clean, but I'm used to using an eco product so I would have expected it to work just as well as a non-eco product. The smell was way too strong though. It smelt too harsh, which I wouldn't expect from a 'natural' product. I also would prefer a laundry liquid to powder.

Q3. How did the products compare to your usual cleaning products? Did it work just as well, better or worse than the products you usually use? I tried it on clothes at 40, and sheets/towels at 60. I noticed traces of powder left on dark coloured clothes, which is why I prefer my usual liquid. I also think a liquid is better for hand washing as it dissolves more easily.

Q4. How important are the green credentials of the Naturally Powered range to you? Would this affect your decision to buy? If so, why? If not, why not? I always try to go for green products, but only if they work as well as non green equivalents. I've always found laundry products to be fine, so I wouldn't choose a non-green alternative.

Q5. Will you continue to buy the Tesco Naturally Powered range? If so, why? If not why not? The Naturally Powered range would be one I'd look out for because I try to use eco-friendly items - not the laundry powder though!

Q6. What, if any, improvements would you make to the Naturally Powered products you were testing? Tone down the smell, make it a liquid not a powder. The bag in a box was quite difficult to scoop the powder out of once the level had gone down too.

Q7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not? Only as part of recommending all green laundry products. I think this product might appeal more to people who haven't ever used an eco-product before, because it's more similar to non-eco products in terms of strong smell.
