  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

DD1 who will usually eat porridge, nibbled it off the spoon with an unimpressed look on her face. She said it didn't taste of anything. I finished off the bowl and agree with her, it's quite bland.
It had a sticky texture and didn't look too appealing.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

It is very quick and easy to make and it's a lovely warm, filling breakfast.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

I think the sachets are a good size, and it's easy to make when it's measured into one portion. I like the box design, as did DD2.

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

By making it taste more like chocolate! Or a little sachet of chocolate chips to sprinkle on top.

. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

They all liked it and ate it. There was mixed opinions as to whether it actually tasted chocolately or not. One described it as marshmallow flavoured!
It was popular, BUT they all said they prefered the golden syrup flavour Oat so simple.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

The main benefits are that it is easier to prepare in a hurry. I can make oat so simple on a school day when I don't have time to stand stirring porridge on the hob, then messing about putting in syrup or whatever. I need something that I can put out in bowls and the kdis can prepare themselves. The second day I did actually pour the sachets into a pan though, because it is much easier to get the required thickness on a hob rather than in the microwave, and the kids preferred it that way too!

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

The younger kids particularly liked the bear on the front, the older two didn't pay that any attention, were more interested int he fact it was chocolate! I thought the idea of pouring milk in the sachets was a bit pointless and messy in practice. I also think the ingredients list could be a bit clearer, and I wasn't impressed that the sachets portions are slightly smaller than the usual ones.

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

I think to really win the kids over, it would have to taste more chocolately. I also think they would like to be more involved in the preparation. Instead of chocolate flavouring, a sachet of sprinkles or dried food would def be more popular.

seasickgal · 21/02/2012 13:04

I have never purchased chocolate cereal so my children were very excited to get chocolate porridge. 3 out of 4 of them are keen on traditional porridge which I normally make in a big jug in the microwave.
Their main comments were that the chocolate porridge did not have enough chocolate in it , and that it was too runny. However we just reduced the amount of milk we added and that helped. The portion size was smaller than they would usually manage.
I found the packaging a bit fiddly and excessive for the family. it took much longer to make individual portions rather than one big jug. However by day 2 the elder children (age 8 and 12) were making their own porridge, and this seemed to be the main attraction.
I think you could make the porridge more interesting by making the flavour stronger. We may buy this again for holidays, but not every day.

Firstly, thank you for letting us try it and whilst my review isn't glowing, I have read the previous posts and will try the golden syrup Oats So Simple variety due to reviews on here.

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?
Sorry, my DC (10) refused to even try it - said the colour didn't look right and 'smelled funny'. I'm inclined to agree that it didn't look the most appealing bowl of cereal I've seen. They said the box was babyish, so I do wonder if that had something to do with not even trying it. Very keen to be grown up are ten year olds!

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product? My DC is a HUGE chocolate Ready Brek fan so was very hopeful that they'd like this, but sadly it was not to be. However, looking at the previous posts we will try the other varieties of Oats So Simple, as they will hopefully look more grown up.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?
DC disliked the box thought it was "very babyish". Whilst I have no view on the bear, I agree with the poster above who thought it was very beige. I think the box could do with brightening up somewhat. I thought the portions were too small for an older child too, that's where chocolate Ready is better, as it is possible to make a different portion sizes and textures. That said, I did like the measure in the bag, but didn't find it any quicker than using the scales and the jug.

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?
The packaging is aiming for a younger market, I feel. Perhaps if it looked more grown-up it could be more appealing. But it does depend on what the target market is for the cereal, I'm sure you wouldn't want to alienate young customers. Perhaps we are just ready for the adult varieties.

Thank you again for letting us try it!

We all loved it. Great taste not too chocolately or sweet. The texture was just right for my DS (8) - he normally complains that porridge is too lumpy.
I liked the cute packaging. We were really interested to check out the other flavours.
I also liked the convenience if using the sachet to measure the milk.

A nice change and less sugar than our usual breakfast cereal. I will be buying this and the other flavours in the range.

beachhutbetty · 21/02/2012 14:29

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?
My DCs did enjoy the porridge although they said it didn't smell chocolately, the texture was ok and the taste was not too sweet.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?
Quick and easy, although that said I don't usually buy convenience food. Making porridge using a big bag of oats and measuring it out and adding milk myself is not hard and saves loads of money.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?
I think the packaging is eye catching and appeals to children more than adults. The individual sachets are designed to make life easy but as I said above it's a very expensive way to provide porridge! Also on the day that I had to make 3 portions of porridge the sachet lI used eaked during the 2nd filling of milk, took longer to clean up the mess than if I had just used the plastic measuring cup I normally use. Also they were fiddly for the children to fill with milk themselves.

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?
Sorry no, but please don't go making it gimmicky by adding plastic toys to collect etc

Pozzled · 21/02/2012 14:32
  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

My three year old was quite excited about trying it, but didn't like it. She took a couple of spoonfuls, and I think it was mostly the texture she didn't like. She said it tasted 'chocolatey, but not nice' (she usually loves chocolate). My 8 month old ate it, but didn't seem particularly enthusiastic- I put a little on her plate and she didn't want any more.

I thought it was ok, I would eat it again. To me it tasted like milky hot chocolate.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

As a filling breakfast. It's really quick to make and would keep the DCs going for most of the morning, especially if you add fruit as we did- banana went really well.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

DD1 thought the bear was a bit scary at first. When I reminded her of the story of Goldilocks, she said she liked the picture. She did like the bear footprints right from the start. I thought the packaging was good, quite unusual, but could have been brighter colours. The sachets were very easy to use with the fill line for the milk, and there wasn't too much packaging so not too bad environmentally.

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

As others have suggested, maybe adding some dried fruit. Or having four different box/sachet designs, one for each of the three bears and Goldilocks- DD1 would quite enjoy seeing which one she was getting.

Overall, I did quite like the porridge and might buy it again but would probably prefer a different flavour. I was disappointed that DD1 didn't like it, as I really liked the idea of a quick, easy porridge for the family.

boredandrestless · 21/02/2012 15:02

I have finally retrieved my porridge from the parcel depot, will add feedback when we've given it a try!

4madboys · 21/02/2012 15:15

my boys had porridge for bfast this morning but they didnt want the chocolate porridge! they requested normal porridge with fruit in. so its a resounding NO in this house, sorry, but thankyou very much for letting us try it out :)

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

Texture was fine, and consistency good after some vigorous mixing to thicken it up a little. All 3 DC agreed that it didn't look, smell or taste chocolatey enough, and that it tasted pleasant but vanilla was the dominant flavour.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

If it was more chocolatey, we'd buy it for the taste. Big porridge eaters in our family and a choc flavour would be a treat-y alternative to the norm.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

We all liked the design and branding of the box, and I liked the ease of pouring milk up to the measure line on the sachet. Handy for encouraging older children to make their own breakfast.

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

Hmm, more 'interesting'...collector cards or stickers would work, but overall it just needs to be more chocolatey.

Thank you for letting us try it!

SilverLining · 21/02/2012 19:17

Thanks v much for letting us be your tasters - I have 2 DD tasters - aged 10 & 6

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

They both loved the concept of measuring it out themselves and having a hot breakfast - especially with the cold weather we've had. Both love chocolate so to be offered it on a week day they were beside themselves with excitement. Unfortunately they were v disapointed that there is v little chocolatey about it! They were looking for chunks of choc and didn't think there was much of a smell of choc either.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

Individual portions are great & a hot breakfast is a winner for me and would love them to have it as they don't like normal porridge or ready break.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

We LOVED the packaging - DD2 has kept the box in her room and has talked about the bear constantly. DD1 thought it was "cooler" than the normal children's cereal boxes. I love the individual portions and was good for DD1 to make her own without wasting half the box.... ;-)

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

Personally I think its pretty much there - just need to make it taste of chocolate!!!

Thanks again!!

DilysPrice · 21/02/2012 20:06
  1. DS doesn't eat porridge and doesn't particularly like chocolate so couldn't persuade him to eat it. DD (9) likes porridge and chocolate so was excited to try it. DH made it for her per instructions and she refused to finish it as it "wasn't chocolatey enough" and sweet talked him into letting her have an extra spoon of drinking chocolate and a sprinkle of cinnamon in it, after which she ate it happily. She does have a horribly sweet tooth though.
I then had a bowl for a snack and thought it was fine but 2 minutes didn't seem long enough - to my eyes it needs at least 2:30 mins to cook properly - maybe my (allegedly 850W) microwave is showing its age. DD has subsequently eaten it a few times but always insisted on extra chocolate and cinnamon, and isn't particularly keen. She didn't have any particular comment on the texture.
  1. Key benefit is convenience of not having to measure out the porridge , having it pre-flavoured, and having the special milk measuring thing, and a guaranteed no fuss cooking time. With only one DC who likes porridge, it would be handy to have sonething completely planning-free which we could use to give DD a hot sustaining breakfast before dance class or on a cold day. Unfortunately the time didn't work for us, and we've already got a cup we use for measuring porridge and milk, and DD didn't like the flavour. I think that for someone with a properly stocked kitchen, the convenience factor is only really a clincher when you're travelling away from home - I keep a couple of sachets of the golden syrup flavour in my desk at work, and if we find a flavour DD likes then we might take it on holiday.
  1. DCs were non-committal on the packaging, though I found it attractive, and I disposed of the cardboard box quickly to save space. I love the sachets and find that they work really well to measure the milk.
  1. The flavour didn't really work for DD, so it would need to be more chocolatey to tempt her - otherwise I'll just make normal microwave porridge and add a big spoon of drinking chocolate and cinnamon (which I wouldn't otherwise have thought of, so thanks for the idea). I like the idea of adding extra sprinkles, but again, if you have a well stocked kitchen it's as easy to DIY, and that way you'll get exactly what your DC like.

Sorry to be a bit negative, I do like the golden syrup variant a lot and think with a bit of work it could work for DCs. Thanks for the trial.

PurpleKittyKnitting · 21/02/2012 20:07

I don't think some of us are destined to have it!! Nothing here!

StantonLacy · 21/02/2012 20:59

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

Unfortunately, neither of them liked it much. DD(age 2) had one spoonful and spat it out. She then refused to try any more. DS (aged 4) was very excited, thought it looked really nice and smelled lovely. He managed to eat half of the portion before he brought it back into the kitchen, he said 'Mommy, this makes me eat little spoons' which usually means he doesn't like it enough to eat big spoonfuls! He didn't like the texture and thought it was too thick. I suppose we could put a little bit more milk in to make it a bit more runny, but he didn't want to try it again.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

Definitely the convenience. Very quick to prepare and the sachets are probably about the right size, portion wise. It's very useful to be able to use the packet to measure the milk. We often have the Oat So Simple Golden Syrup flavour at home and it is always a big hit with the children.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

The packaging seemed adequate. DS liked the bear on the box, thought he was very funny. I am a fan of the individual sachets although I do think they can be a bit tricky once filled with milk (However, I am naturally very clumsy, so I think this is more a failing on my part rather than a design fault!)

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

Give it more of a definite chocolate flavour. I do appreciate that one of the main selling points for this product is the fact that it is considered a healthier option when compared to other chocolate flavoured cereals on the market. However, if it doesn't even really taste of chocolate, then the healthy/healthier eating aspect is irrelevant.

As far as interest is concerned, both of my DC are a little too young to care too much about what is or isn't on the packaging. As long as something tastes nice, they are fans! I can appreciate though that older children might enjoy some sort of activity - maybe a bear mask to cut out of the back of the packet ?

Thanks for letting us take part in the trial, I hope that our feedback is helpful.

DickSwivellersTidyWife · 21/02/2012 21:48

I will try to come back with more feedback if I can get the children to eat it again.

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance? DD (nearly 5) eyed it suspiciously and said she didn't like it. She is very picky so no surprise there. Big surprise was DS, 3yo dustbin. He tried some and spat it back into his bowl and said it made him sick. It didn't make him sick, he spat it out. I think it was the texture as he loves chocolate and chocolate cereal. So not a winner here, sorry.
  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product? If my children liked it, I would certainly buy it some of the time - not too high in sugar (much less sugar than my cereals of choice anyway Blush ) Porridge generally is Good Stuff, low GI, keeps you full for ages and good for you all round. It was easy enough to make, I haven't tried it before at all, seemed quite wet but better than too thick and stodgy. It didn't look or smell very chocolatey though.
  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why? The children liked the bear, I thought it looked fine, good link about porridge/goldilocks/bears etc. It did feel a bit odd to pour milk into a paper sachet and I was worried it would spill. Packaging though - Oats, sugar, natural flavour ??I would like it more specific especially when it is all - look only 3 ingredients in the simple breakfast. Does it mean cocoa? Or a factory version of cocoa flavour? Wound me up a bit TBH.
  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)? Chocolate sprinkles to go on the top? or other crunchy toppings but I bet all the nice ones would be too unhealthy.

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

Overall they preferred readybrek. They ate a few spoonfulls then asked for something else. It looks like sludge.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

easy to measure sachets and a long lasting breakfast cereal keeping them fuller for longer

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

the measurements were wrong, the porridge was too runny

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

make it tatse nicer we had 4 children eating it and nobody liked it!if something says its choclatey then it should taste that way!

inmysparetime · 21/02/2012 22:00

I was given some sachets by another MNer whose DCs were not impressed.
Taste-wise, 7yo DD enjoyed it, said it was nice and smooth, and easy enough for her to make on her own.
10yo DS was not so impressed, he said "it tasted of nothing"

The packaging is a bit boring, perhaps adding a bit more interest colour-wise would increase its appeal.
The instructions were easy to understand and follow.
DD thought the portions were a bit small, and was asking for a bit more to eat before she left for school. She will try it tomorrow with raisins in to bulk it out.
DS was impressed that it's dairy free, as it's "a bit too nice to not have milk in", it is very acceptable made up with either soya milk or cow's milk. Perhaps you could push the dairy free angle better.

TinyPants · 21/02/2012 22:49
  1. My ds loved it but has a sweet tooth, as do I. The texture was thinner than I'd expect for porridge, more like Ready Brek but I actually really liked the flavour, it was creamy.

  2. The sachets are handy as it saves measuring out (I would possibly take one to work occasionally) and hot breakfasts are ideal for the colder mornings.

  3. Overall we liked the packaging. Bright and simple and DS was able to point out the bear. We didn't dislike any of it, all pretty inoffensive stuff.

  4. My dc are still at the age where they eat what they are given so this isn't a great question for me to answer but ds1 is already a sucker for a gimmick so a toy in the packet, tokens to collect, a game on the back of a box etc would guarantee his attention in the supermarket.

geniuswater · 21/02/2012 22:51

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

My 14 month old seemed to like the porridge, he ate it all (made with soya milk as has allergy to cows milk) The texture was a bit sticky but he didn't seem to mind although he is a V. Good eater and will eat most things without fuss anyway!

My 6 year old liked the look of it (made with cows milk on hob), and was quite excited by the prospect of the chocolate flavour, although he said it didn't smell of much, but after one mouthful his enthusiasm disappeared as he didn't like the taste at all. He said it wasn't 'chocolatey' at all and not sweet enough - he wanted to add honey to it. He said "it tastes of nothing" and had to be cajoled and pestered into eating the rest!

My 9 year old liked the look and said that the texture was nice but that it didn't smell of chocolate or taste 'chocolatey'. He did say that he quite enjoyed it and said he would eat it again but would prefer to add some honey for taste, and would have liked it taste more like chocolate.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

The main benefit is the ease of use. Even though we do not have a microwave, I found it quick enough to make on the hob with clear and easy to follow instructions.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

I found the packaging appealing, clear, and easy to use - the individual sachets were good portion sizes and would make storage easy and would also be useful for travel. I thought the milk measure was a very good idea (especially for travel) but not useful for me on this occasion as I had to boil the milk first before adding the sachet. My one concern was the ingredients list - 'natural flavours' - would like more information about what exactly.

The children really liked the outer packaging and thought the picture was very appealing - my 6 year old even brought his teddy bear to the table to 'have a look'!

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

The porridge itself would need to taste more of chocolate to appeal to my children more! The packaging is appealing to children and useful to parents.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to try this product out, hope this is of some use :)

fatcaaah · 22/02/2012 00:35

Apologies for lateness to the thread, have been trying to get someone to eat this! My 4dc's (15, 14, 4 and 2) eat reasonably well but aren't strangers to junk food and all have my devilishly sweet tooth. They all eat breakfast everyday, sometimes have chocolate cereal and sometimes I make porridge which the 15yo and 4yo will eat.

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

None of them liked it, couldn't get any of them to finish a bowl, which is very unusual, particularly with the 15yo. The elder two said it tasted 'weird' and not chocolatey enough, 14yo didn't like the texture either saying it was too 'sticky' Younger two took one look and wouldn't try it at first, again, unusual. After some coaxing and pushing the chocolate angle they both had one spoonful and said they didn't like it, 2yo was pretty definite it was not chocolate breakfast. 4yo just not interested.

I did try some of theirs and have to agree that it wasn't chocolatey, it just had a slightly odd flavour. The texture was quite sticky and gloopy but lumpy, like goo with lumps. The colour wasn't great either, bit 'half-hearted' and wishy washy, someone mentioned 'sludge' I think that's a good description. Not appealing.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

Unfortunately none! I wouldn't buy it as no one liked it.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

Packaging was ok, tbh mine weren't really interested. I do like the idea of the sachets and measuring the milk in the sachet, when i first saw Oat So Simple ages ago I thought it was a genius idea particularly to take to work or on holiday.

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

Make it taste nicer and the chocolate one of chocolate! Sort the colour out. I don't know how it does or doesn't differ to the normal Oat So Simple but if that doesn't go all gooey and lumpy then do whatever you do to that one to the children's one.

Questions

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?
Sadly my little monster refused to try he is not a porrige lover but he thought it looked gloopy. I taseted it and thought the texture was fine but it was quite teasteless, I would have to add extra flavourings to make it edible either some more chocolate or syrup or fruit or something

Why? liked the packageing and the sachets and the way you use the sachet to measure the milk but when i read the packet i was very frustrated by the ingredients list "natural flavourings" is not good enough if you are not going to put real chocolate in it then please be honest and let us know exactly what you have put in!

Well I made the porridge this morning, will answer the Q's.

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

Once cooked and in a bowl DS said it "looked yukky and smelt yukky", he refused to even try it (sorry).
When I opened the sachet I was pleased to see actual oats in it, when it was made it looked less oaty, had a very mushy appearance and the brown sludgey colour was not all that appetising to look at. I didn't find the smell as appealing as plain porridge, it had a strange sweet smell. I found the flavour very bland, so much so I ended up sticking a teaspoon of nutella into it! The consistency was slightly more 'gluey' than the plain porridge I usually buy too.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

I already have porridge as a regular breakfast choice but was keen to get DS to try this as he doesn't currently eat any hot breakfasts and I hoped the flavour and packaging would tempt him to give it a try.

In general I buy these sachets of porridge as they are a quick and easy hot breakfast that keeps you full for longer.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

DS said he liked the box design but didn't like the packets design, he said he liked the bear picture on the box. When I saw the bear on the box I thought for a second that I had perhaps been sent HONEY flavour by mistake, but upon reading realised it was in fact chocolate.

From a practical POV I liked the resealable box, and the measuring use of the sachets. I also liked that the packaging was all recycle-able.

One thing I did dislike was the vague ingredients list. Oats, sugar (having the percentage of sugar listed would have been more honest and would have been useful), and 'natural flavouring' WHAT natural flavouring? Why not state which flavourings where used?? I'm wondering if there is actually any chocolate in it as I certainly couldn't taste any!

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

Well, I think my particular child couldn't be tempted in any way, he judged it on it's appearance and smell and deemed it uneatable. I ate it but I'll eat anything Blush and as I said earlier I did add to it as I found the taste rather disappointing.

So overall, thank you for giving us the opportunity to try your chocolate porridge, but I doubt we will be buying it in the future. I will however be continuing to buy plain porridge sachet packs for my future breakfasts! Smile
