Ford "You Choose" feedback review thread

AnnMumsnet · 22/12/2011 13:18

This thread is for the five Mumsnetters who are reviewing the Ford car of their choice over the next 3 weeks.

The cars being reviewed are:
Fiesta x 2 Mumsnetters
KUGA x 1 Mumsnetter
Mondeo Estate x 1 Mumsnetter
Galaxy x 1 Mumsnetter

Each tester and their family will have the car for three weeks and will also be making a video review - look out for these on site soon.

Here are the review questions - don't feel you have to answer them straight away - some of them will make more sense once you've had the car for a week or so. We'd like you to state the car you are driving (full model details if possible), and give us your initial thoughts, first impressions - both from you and the rest of the family - and then add feedback at least twice a week for the next three weeks until the car is collected - though please feel free to give more regular updates throughout the extended test drive, and don't feel you have to stick to the questions too rigidly - they are just a guide.

Thanks for volunteering. Safe driving.

Here are the questions -

~ What were you/your partner's first impressions of the car?
~ What do the children think of it?
~ Do the children fit comfortably in it?
~ How easy is it to fit car seats/ adjust seats etc
~ What's it like to drive?
~ Is it a comfortable ride?
~ What's the boot space like?
~ Does it have any useful extras - cup holders etc?
~ How does it cope with different road conditions eg town, country, motorway
~ What do your friends/ family think of it?
~ Has testing this car made you more or less likely to buy a Ford?
~ Has testing this car changed your perception of Ford cars at all?
~ What one thing do you like best about it?
~ What one thing would you change about it?
~ The idea of this project is to show there are Fords for all kinds of families - so how well did you think the car you chose worked for your family?

Please add any other comments and don't forget your video diaries and photos!

The final videos are done and I have emailed some photos.
Have now parceled up the video and will take it to the PO tomorrow.

Our car goes back tomorrow afternoon, although don't know the times yet. Hopefully when not on school run!

Are there any end of test questions, or just a continuation from the original questions?

Hulababy · 11/01/2012 19:50

Not remembered to watch back most of the videos. Haven't deleted any either as wasn't sure how to.

Hulababy - a round up of your final thoughts would be fab! Thanks

The car has now gone. I think I may miss it too!

Have to say that I have been surprised. I have always been quite anti getting a big 4x4 type car, and DH has been pushing for one for a while as the family/main car. I have always driven small cars myself and when I do use DH's they've been fine as they haven't been big - think more Golf GTI types.

When the Kuga came it looked so big and huge, but actually I got used to it pretty quickly. You just have to think about more about where you park. I was really nervous the first times I drove it, but driving it this week has been a doddle. I no longer flinch when I go down a narrow road too which is a bonus! Grin

I was disappointed that you can't fit three seats across the back, but DD is older now and doesn't really need a seat anyway, so I guess that is almost irrelevant to me anyway.

DH is a bit of a car snob in that he likes German, or flashy cars with the right badge. But having the Kuga this past three weeks has turned him a bit. He has shocked himself in the way he has enjoyed this car, and he has liked it.

I think DD has enjoyed having more legroom in the back and more space in general.

I'll come back and do a final review later on.

Camera posted back today, I tried doing a final piece to camera with the summary of what we thought but it ended up with me trying to stop DD grabbing the camera, sorry about that.....

Have now spent my vouchers and ordered the bookstand I wanted in order to finish the new living room!

Really enjoyed test driving the Kuga.
