NOW CLOSED: Video reviewing test drivers wanted for Ford Kuga

AnnMumsnet · 19/10/2011 13:02

We've been asked by Ford to find 5 MNers and their families willing to have a three week extended test drive of the Kuga, to make a video review and to add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. This follows on from the recent C-MAX, Grand C-MAX and Focus test drives.

In case you don't know the Kuga, here's what Ford say about it. "It has five seats and is Ford's all wheel drive model making it fantastic for driving on more challenging terrain. It features include a split tail gate which gives users easy access to the boot, allowing you to load and un-load all your belongings easily. For more info please have a look at the Ford site"

If you'd like to test drive one please read on, especially the conditions:

You can use the car for anything (legal) - but you will need to pay for any fuel you use, as well as any parking permits or parking/traffic fines.

Insurance will be arranged as long as you:-

~ are aged 25 or over
~ have had a full driving licence for three years or more and
~ have no convictions for dangerous driving.

What will test drivers need to do?
If selected, you would need to be able to offer feedback about the car on Talk at least twice a week for the duration of the three week test plus a final round up of your thoughts.

We will also be asking you to use the video camera provided to film yourself reviewing the car with your family plus we'll need a photo of you with the car and some details about you and your family. All footage, photos and information may be shown on Mumsnet and potentially used by Ford elsewhere.

Timetable
The test drive will take place starting w/c 31 October and will last for three weeks.

Please only apply if you are around and able to test the car as well as add your feedback.

If selected your name and contact details would be passed to the team at Ford who would make arrangements to deliver the car on a convenient day and time to suit you.

If you're interested in taking part please sign up by clicking here.

If you're selected for the test drive and add feedback as required on Mumsnet, you will receive £100 of John Lewis vouchers. If you haven't heard from us by October 25th, we're sorry but you haven't been selected this time.

Thanks and good luck

Oh in my excitement to apply forgot to say that we are v rural and live up a private country track - there are sheep and everything! Also I do have a dog -a v photogenic non-shedding blue whippet who would look v elegant reclined in the boot of a Kuga. (But if dogs are a no-no he totally doesn't have to travel).

I forgot to say on the survey that I answered some of the car driving questions as if we had had a car, which we currently don't (Sad) Just thought I'd mention it as otherwise some of my answers don't really match up.

PosiesOfPoison · 20/10/2011 09:44

Oh lovely Ann of Mumsnet, how many seats does this car have?

AnnMumsnet · 20/10/2011 11:07

Sheep you say Merrylegs, hmmmm....interesting!

Posies - it has 3 across the back - not 100% if that equates to 3 massive car seats though.

We'd love to, we've actually been talking about buying one! DP would need to be the reviewer as I've only had my licence a few months but would be great to check ease of use with car seat/ buggy space plus whether it passes DSD's 'cool' test!!

PosiesOfPoison · 20/10/2011 11:22

We don't have massive car seats.

[makes children breath in]

fivegomadindorset · 20/10/2011 12:45

Done, I can do sheep, and cows, chickens, children and a dog, rural tracks etc etc etc

Lotkinsgonecurly · 20/10/2011 12:59

Natters1980 · 20/10/2011 15:21

topknob · 20/10/2011 16:56

I have 5 kids (one with SLD) me and dh...kids at school during day so just me after school run !

oldenoughtobejamierobertsmum · 20/10/2011 20:42

We've got a ford garage down the road, I could just get one from there, not for three weeks though, I think that would be stealing......
And we live in rural Somerset..... Hurrah! Pick us!

DitaVonCheese · 20/10/2011 21:27

Is no one else wincing at the spelling of Kuga? I'm off to baby names right now to suggest it [hwink]

(Have I buggered up my chances then?)

jenduck · 20/10/2011 22:38

Can I apply but for my husband to be the one test-driving it? I have only had my licence since last March, but he has had his for about 17 years now Envy

If I can do this, what would I put for name & username?

Thanks & sorry if these are stupid questions!

AnnMumsnet · 20/10/2011 22:56

jenduck - yes you can apply - pls use your name etc and say in the box at the end your DH is the driver.

edwardcullensotherwerewolf · 21/10/2011 00:22

Aw gutted, I did the CMax one - I love Ford Kugas, (as does DH, but he won't sign up to MN just to apply for a testdrive!) but it would be cheeky to apply here too wouldn't it?

Best of luck to everyone!

jenduck · 21/10/2011 08:23

Ooh, thanks, AnnMumsnet, I will go & apply now Smile

CeeMac · 21/10/2011 10:57

Probably a stupid question but here goes. I don't have a full driving licence but my husband does (well over three years too). Can we apply? I am shortly going to be taking my test and am trying to convince my hubby to buy me one of these. Any chance we can try it out??????

Shinyshoes1 · 21/10/2011 11:00

I have applied, fingers crosses Grin

Tiggertoo14 · 21/10/2011 15:34

Hi I am a mum of a 1yr old girl with a 6 year old stepdaughter. We are currently looking to get a new 4wd as four weeks ago we moved to a farm in North Yorkshire and the convertible is not cutting it anymore so a test drive would be great for us

wobblyweeble82 · 24/10/2011 17:41

I'm on of the lucky ones :) :) :)

wobblyweeble82 · 24/10/2011 17:42
