He reeled out a load of cliches about the city we live in (full monty/steel industry/ee bye gum) etc and didn't really say anything of interest or have any original thoughts/opinions. Very dissapointing.

Teafortwo, is Doris Lessing still alive? I think she was a bit to scarily intelligent for me. I was a bit wary of asking ToPa questions in case he sneered at their inanity, I'd be much too inhibited to ask Doris Lessing anything. He had a cokkery show on last Chrsitmas Eve and he just started decking himself - for no obvious reason, it must be said - when his old Italian guest ate a mince pie. And I thought, I'd like to crease myself laughing with cuddly, straightforward, simple Jamie.
