With reference to this thead do let us know who you'd like to try.

As we said, we'll consult more on people who approach us and in that spirit we should let you know that we're planning to have Tana Ramsay on next Monday lunchtime... (she's promoting her new book) so if anyone has any Scheherazade-type feelings shout now!

Thing is, there are lots of slebs we like, and if they have children then it's relevant, but understandably they won't want to discuss that.
But I think that's the thing that would endear the less popular ones.

Tana Ramsay will want to publicize her book, but we all want to know what Gordon's like in bed and ask her about IVF. In short, it'll descend into bumsex. So to speak.

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 07/10/2008 12:11

I wouldn't mind a q+a with mnhq themselves...I mean do any of us know how it all really works at mnhq? How do they know to delete a mean post at 2am?? Does a siren on Techs or Justine's PC flash at the mention of the C word thus catapulting them out of bed shreiking delete delete!!

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 07/10/2008 12:11

shriek rather...

FabioCatello · 07/10/2008 12:12

Oh good point lapin - the ones who are promoting an autobiography can talk about their own childhoods and we can all waft into a mist of nostalgia, whilst the Uncouth discuss bumming elsewhere.

BecauseImWorthIt · 07/10/2008 12:17

I suppose it depends what these webchats are for.

If they're for people promoting their books/CDs/concerts, then frankly they are fair game.

If they are here for us to question them, ask question and get useful information then I think it's different. Jamie Oliver, IMO, could be someone really helpful, but I fear that the braying mobs will jump in just to have a go.

Tanya Byron was brilliant because she answered people's questions and was helpful to MNetters - i.e. it was for our benefit.

I'd like someone who can give advice on teenage issues - can't think of a sleb or personality who does that at the moment, but surely there's someone?!

I'm always a bit that Gordon has his son all over his show, but never seems to go on trips to kill things with his daughters. They can't all be wimps girly girls, surely?

I heart Sheila Hancock.

I want the ghost of Joan Crawford on.
We can all 'ave a go and it won't matter.

zippitippitoes · 07/10/2008 12:25

im interested in sheila hancock because she recently went travelling and i am interested in doing that

but i thought she might be a bit old for mn

kay redfield jamison is very interesting but i doubt anyone will have heard of her

bran · 07/10/2008 12:26

I'd love to chat to some female comedians, Victoria Wood, Dawn French, Sandi Toksvig. Not so much because they can help MNers, more because they are interesting and have pursued careers in an unconventional field and combined that with having children.

Also on the Tony Parsons thread I mentioned that I would love to chat with Alain de Botton, although I'm not sure that all that many MNers have heard of him. I think it would be particularly interesting to hear his views on the topic that his book Status Anxiety covered given how the economic climate is changing.
