Micheal Carrington, creative director of CBeebies will be coming to chat live next weds, Jan 30th from 1-2pm. In his previous job, he brought, amongst other programmes Lunar Jim and Charlie and Lola to the BBC, and he's now editorially responsible for the CBeebies digital channel as well as for all CBeebies output on BBC ONE and BBC TWO; and for bbc.co.uk/cbeebies.

So if you've got a burning question about the future of Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy, or want to start a campaign to bring back Chigley, please join us at 1pm next weds (that was Watch with Mother time in my day ).

If you can't make it on the day, you can of course post your questions in advance here.

My kids are getting a little old for cbeebies now, and I'm really missing it!!! I think it is by far the best Children's TV channel and the whole package is of a superior quality to the others. My littlest will be watching soon so I'm looking forward to that!!! Keep up the good work.

Without ITNG would be even better!

Nemoandthefishes · 30/01/2008 13:53

Just wanted to say thank you for bringing the phonics programme over onto cbeebies as my son has speech and language therapy and it has helped immensley with pronunciation but I alwats forgot to watch out for it on the schools programming

MichaelCarrington · 30/01/2008 13:53

witchandchips - great idea to do a CBeebies+1 but we would need permission from the BBC Trust to add another service. This is highly unlikely... it would be quite expensive.

foxythesnowman · 30/01/2008 13:54

What will happen to the Blue Peter Garden when Television Centre is sold and Childrens go to Manchester?

princessmel · 30/01/2008 13:54

Agree that it was too young a while back. ds(5) has deffo moved on to Boomarang. He loves Scooby Doo. Will watch cbeebies if its on for dd (2yrs) though. He lives Ernie, Numberjacks , Nina, Tommy Zoom. He likes mystery progs. Any chance of one of those? He loves spotting 'Clues'. Spots them on the way to school.

suzywong · 30/01/2008 13:54

I can't believe that.
Did those kids NEVER get a day off from Miss Hoolie's nursery?

babyonboard · 30/01/2008 13:55

Can I ask if you plan to rerun Boo! ?

My DS loves it, it is the only programme he has ever shown any interest in, but we are all sick of the ones we have sky plused

princessmel · 30/01/2008 13:55

Dd adores ITNG and Charlie and Lola btw. Charlie and Lola is fab. My fave by far. We have the dolls, stories, cds etc!

My2Weegirls · 30/01/2008 13:55

300 balamory's ??? why do we keep seeing the same ones? did you mean 30?

fryalot · 30/01/2008 13:55

Boo was/is fantastic.

If you look at the pics on my profile, you will see what ds thinks of it

3Ddonut · 30/01/2008 13:56

Suzy, they were different kids that's why she said 'lets see who's at the nursery today' and then named them as they came in. She did have trouble with her short term memory though, asking your child what his/her name was every day!

Flier · 30/01/2008 13:56

balamory had 254 episodes accoring to wikipedia, it does sound alot, doesn't it?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balamory

MichaelCarrington · 30/01/2008 13:57

Nemoandthefishes - I refer to my previous answer to mercy.

princessmel · 30/01/2008 13:57

Oh yes Boo is good too. I HATED Tweenies, Fimbles, Balamory.

ahundredtimes · 30/01/2008 13:58

Mine are too old for CBeebies now (10,8,6) but we did watch for years.

Can I just say that they REALLY loved The Shiny Show. I just wanted to say that. It was a good show, so is Come Outside. Please don't overlook the factual/quiz sort of things in favour of too much narrative based weirdies in suits - the factual stuff really hooks them. And The Shiny Show was good because it had a competitive element - most unusual and rewarding.

Just wanted to say that. Perhaps there is something nowadays that does this, if so please ignore.

My2Weegirls · 30/01/2008 13:58

Me Too is also a favourite here - though i think it's because DD1 see's LRT buses and thinks that bobby is cleaning it.

babyonboard · 30/01/2008 13:58

aaaaaw sqounk! how cute!

DS has a singing boo, (cost £35 on ebay, madness!) and I have tried to convince him that a tiger and duck from elc are the ones from the programme but he's no fool.

hunkermunker · 30/01/2008 13:58

Any chance of a programme that shows breastfeeding (in a casual way, as part of everyday life) - to help normalise it among children and benefit them later in life?

MichaelCarrington · 30/01/2008 13:58

I love ruty!

Washersaurus · 30/01/2008 13:58

So, will there be any language type programmes - dora and Diego stylee?

Ds never really liked The Shiny Show . Its funny how what one child loves another doesn't!

suzywong · 30/01/2008 13:59

OH, I see
I hope she found time to wash that cardi

I really really really really really feel sad that ds2 knows not the joy of Cbeebies, apart from the website.

and what was that about TV centre being sold? What will happen to that fountain around which a record breaking line up of juvenille tap dancers tap danced their way in to the record books with Roy Castle? Will pieces be snatched for memorabilia like the Berlin Wall?

Oliveoil · 30/01/2008 13:59

there is a very annoying programme that showed b/f on it

cartoony type thing, bobinogs or something

MamaG · 30/01/2008 13:59

ooh good Q hunker
