Sunday Times columnist India Knight will be joining us here on Monday 2nd July from 9-10pm for a live chat. India has just published her first children's book 'The Baby' which is about a big brother's relationship with his new baby sister - an absolute must for second-time parents. If you can't make the chat you can post your questions in advance here.
Hope to see you here on Monday.

So far, it's looking like 1 September for our move, Boris!

But the landlord is still working out the details with his future employer.

Here's hoping!!! The sooner, the better.

Hello India. I read your ST column every week and agree with you most of the time, though I do think you often state the bleeding obvious (perhaps that is necessary these days though? )

I would like to ask you if, when you met your new partner and he began to be involved with your family life, would you have welcomed the opportunity to know if he had a criminal record with regard to child abuse?

"It is a strange fact of life that most women, no matter how high-achieving, beautiful or intelligent, have, at the back of their minds, a worm of anxiety about their nanny and her effect on their husband."
Yes quite.
From the Sunday Times column.

I reckon 90% of all women have no such niggling worry.

Why?

Because they don't have nannies and/or couldn't afford one even if working full-time.

Shall we get together and write a book about parenting? You are famous, clearly I am a mumsnet guru, what's not to like?

Do you ever genuinely get upset about people criticising what you write? And how do you get over it?

Report
TranquilaManana · 02/07/2007 15:44

ooh yes, thats a good question; how do you deal with criticism of your work?

India, if you could pass on ONE tip about losing weight (for my 10year younger thread), what would it be?

India, are you planning to write any more novels? How much research do you do (as I believe you've been spying on me taking my children to school in my PJs and have been to all the same playgroups as me!)

Hello India, Do you base your characters in your books on real life people who you know?

Well what I know of the woman is purely what I've read on links that Cod has posted. I've liked most of what I've read.

here's my questions - am I allowed more than one.

How does someone become a columnist?

I have fibromyalgia and I childmind The two have never clashed much, but recently had a few flare ups, and need to lose weight, but can't do much exercise. Any tips?

How long does it take to write a novel? I'd love to get mine off the ground

I loved the fashion advice and moral support in your diet book and have a question: what did you do about the ever changing bra sizes when you were losing weight? I've dropped a couple in both cup size and, erm, whatever the around the body size is called. My breasts are like lumpy custard, so I need something I can pour them into and give them a bit of shape. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

(airhead question, sorry)

How would you describe your voice? I've only ever seen your photo by your column and I think you sound sort of fruity/gravelly with a very dirty laugh.

Is this right?
