@Theodolia

As someone who had a premature baby earlier this year, I just want to say thank you for the handling of that bit, it felt you like our life. Was it coincidence that it was shown near to World Prematurity Day?

coincidence. we have no idea what date a particular episode will air when we write them. but we send our love to you and your baby! xx

DickDewy · 01/12/2015 21:26

I too have just had to google Daniel Lapaine and Mark Bonnar...

SharonHorgan · 01/12/2015 21:26

@MsJuniper

Bloody LOVE Catastrophe. Best thing since Pulling. Never watched anything that's made me so unutterably happy and been so pleasantly surprised by lack of misogynist tropes.

Only thing is my Mum likes it too and even at 39 I feel quite embarrassed watching the wanking scenes with her. But that's not really your problem.

Muireann and Sadhbh are both beautiful names by the way.

Oh dear... I haven't really got a question.

MsJuniper thank you for admiring my daughters unspell-able name xx

Jayloflo79 · 01/12/2015 21:27

Ok I'm so confused how have you managed to film my life! I'm a teacher with two small kids, a foreign husband, mad parents. I've binge watched series one and love it- I've also told everyone I know to watch it, funniest thing on tv...FACT

RobDelaney · 01/12/2015 21:27

@BrianBettyGrable

I love the programme. Rob, I went to see your stand up after seeing you on telly. Was great. I especially liked my friend's reaction who also went, unbeknownst to me. A bit, um, crude, she said. Brilliant.

Anyway, my q is to Sharon - have you ever done or will you ever consider stand up?

I could Google the answer to the first bit, but seeing as you're here, I thought I'd ask.

Gutted that this series is nearly at an end, thank you for the laughs.

thanks for coming to my standup! If anyone else wants to I'm touring the UK in the spring: www.robdelaney.com/live-dates/

@RomComPhooey

I love the fact that you cover serious issues. One of my favourite scenes from Series 1 was when Sharon received (good) news from her doctor and decided to take a lie-down in the middle of the supermarket aisle.

The scene that ended the episode with Sharon in the taxi queue at the airport was perfection too - beautifully written and acted. I like the mixture of raucous humour, the absurd and the quiet moments.

RomComPhooey thank you. We love that scene too. She was an amazing kid

DansonslaCapucine · 01/12/2015 21:28

I still laugh when I think of that scene in the first episode when you are pleasantly surprised by the lack of hairy back.

Dh and I binged watched on Amazon Prime. Will series 2 make it onto Amazon Prime?

RobDelaney · 01/12/2015 21:28

@DickDewy

I too have just had to google Daniel Lapaine and Mark Bonnar...

How amazing are they? I am in awe of our cast. GET READY for Daniel Lapaine in the season finale tonight. x

Series 2 will indeed be on Amazon Prime. Spring I think. x

heylottie · 01/12/2015 21:29

When can we expect series 3. (And the movie. And the coffee table book)

SharonHorgan · 01/12/2015 21:30

@laziz

Hi guys!

Firstly, thanks for making such an awesome show. It's so great to see a hilarious, positive, crazy and real depiction of marriage on TV. There are not enough!

I have two questions (greedy like that) - who are TV couples you love? And in terms of skipping forward in s2 to being settled with two kids, was there a reason? The first kid is such a shitstorm of a learning curve, I wondered why you decided to skip it (although can see that some of those things are covered with the second babe).

And Sharon - I think you are a goddess and and am hoping that we'll get your HBO series in the UK?

Ok that's three but really, I'm done.

(Rob, we saw your stand up in Brighton and I haven't laughed so hard in forever. Wanted to add that after calling Sharon a Goddess to keep things even.)

laziz George and Mildred. Vera and Jack. Basil and Sybil Fawlty.

We skipped cos we felt like we'd seen that done before.

I hope so too.

miaowmix · 01/12/2015 21:30

The show is very Richard Curtis-like in that it makes London look all magical and cutesy. (Actually a good thing)

Any chance of a special one-off episode south of the river?

RobDelaney · 01/12/2015 21:30

@SharonHorgan
We love Catastrophe in our house too.

Rob, if you're not on MN already, you should join. There's a Vaping topic...

My question is: was it a deliberate choice not to have the children as the main focus in the series, more Sharon and Rob's relationship post-children? It's so spot on... Sharon, your PND is so subtly acted

yes very deliberate. Child actors are expensive and hard to wrangle
Holy shit I hope Sharon has a BAFTA physically thrown at her and she has to get stitches in her arm or something. That would be amazing. xx

ggirl · 01/12/2015 21:30

Rob ..come to southwest on your tour !!

SaigonSaigon · 01/12/2015 21:30

Does Faye Ripley bring brownies along during filming? I'm imagining she does....

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 01/12/2015 21:31

Thanks for replying, Sharon.

I was all poised and moistened to buy tickets for Rob's Dublin show, and then realised I'll be in Berlin for the husband's 40th.

Fucking husband bastard Angry

No she doesn't! What's up with that?

Buttfarts! Oh well Berlin is amazing and I'll surely return to Dublin. x

SharonHorgan · 01/12/2015 21:32

@mizu

LOVE Catastrophe, love, love, love it. My sister and I will text each other afterwards too.

Best bit this season has got to be the Gollum/boner bit in the bedroom Grin

Best comedy on TV at the moment.

Questions? Sharon - love your clothes in it, Whistles??

Thanks mizu. No not whistles. Or maybe one piece from Whistles. All over the place, some designer but a lot of high street second hand a vintage.

RomComPhooey · 01/12/2015 21:32

Rob ..come to southwest on your tour !!

Yes please. Bristol is within striking distance if we get a babysitter.

DickDewy · 01/12/2015 21:32

Ooh, he's married to Fay Ripley (Daniel Lapaine).

Such a joy adhering the pizza to Sharon's (non-hairy back) with honey to get it to stick there. A little Hollywood magic for you there! x

MrsBertMacklin · 01/12/2015 21:34

Just a quick thanks to Rob for posting about your depression - you wrote a Tumblr post a few years ago about getting help which was a catalyst for me stopping thinking about depression as part of me that I had to live with forever, rather than an illness. So thanks for that.

RomComPhooey · 01/12/2015 21:34

So, Rob still hasn't answered my husband's question about Carrie Fisher. He assumes you asked her about Star Wars, so I am going to ask if you even mentioned Star Wars to her or does she have a rider in her contract saying it must not be mentioned?
