Calling all Catastrophe fans: We’re very excited to announce that co-authors and stars Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney will be joining us for a webchat tomorrow eve (9-10pm), directly before transmission of the final episode of the season.

Sharon Horgan is an irish actress, writer and director. She won a British Comedy Award for her BBC show Pulling which was also nominated for a BAFTA for Best Sitcom. Rob famously rose to fame on twitter where his hilarious tweets soon caught the eye of comedy promoters. He now has 1.2 million followers and it was on twitter where he first met Sharon and they conceived the idea for the series.

Join us on this thread on Tuesday evening to chat with Sharon and Rob and if you’re unable to join us then, post your questions in advance on this thread.

Hi Rob and Sharon,

I love Catastrophe and am really enjoying the new series. I loved the switch you pulled on us at the beginning of the first episode when it was revealed that Sharon was actually pregnant with her second child. I love knowing that they've made it to their third wedding anniversary even though the two characters don't necessarily seem that well suited.

I think the two main things that the characters have in common is their sense of humour and their enjoyment of sex. Is that how you see it?

So my actual question: In one of the recent episodes, Sharon mentioned that Rob had a two-and-a-half inch penis. That was a joke, right? I mean, I had been assuming that Rob was as big in the trouser department as he is in the height and shoe-size department. Please reassure that me Rob (the character) has a massive penis. I mean, you could tell me about the length of Rob (the actor and writer)'s penis but I think it would be slightly impolite of me to ask about that so it's probably best not to go there. It's just the fictional penis that I would like reassurance on.

Thank you!

Ooh I am pathetically addicted to this show. I pressure all my mates to WATCH IT.
I'm not going to get involved with this webchat though because last time I did that on MN I ended up cyber flirting with Russell Brand Blush. So I won't.

Sharon I too adore your wardrobe, and lovely swishy hair. How do you pronounce your daughter's name though?

jobrum · 01/12/2015 20:31

Watched the first series on catch up a few weeks ago and love the second series just as much.

Who did you imagine the target audience to be? People with older children who find it funny because they vaguely remember everything happening to them? Young or those with no children who think it us all hillariously over the top? Or people like me with babies who are slightly scared that hidden cameras are following their lives?

And the bit with Sharon going "ow! Ow! Ow!" during sex was just fantasticly funny!

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 01/12/2015 20:34

DH & I love the show too! I'd love to hang out with Sharon.

My question: Sharon, did you really learn that trick at convent school?

DickDewy · 01/12/2015 20:49

I totally related to Sharon's unhinged stalking of the one mother she met at a bay group and actually liked.

I did this with the one other normal woman at Music with Mummy (blerk).

I love Catastrophe. As does the husband. I was a bit shocked (!) by how much ruder the 2nd series is, but its clearly most of the reason I'm still tuning in (ahem). Who is the rudest; Rob or Sharon?

thisismyhair · 01/12/2015 21:03

I love love love the show! It's the highlight of my week.
So real on so many levels, more so than most comedy shows.

SharonHorgan · 01/12/2015 21:04

@GayByrne

I fucking LOVE this show!! Me and husband watch and we're like, they are us! Gonna put a note in the diary now.

Sharon and Rob you do great work, just great great work. Please make a million series.

Thanks GayByrne! We will try and make as many as four x

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/12/2015 21:04

I love this show - thank you!

I stumbled across the first episode of series two by accident after a really crap day and I laughed like a drain. I then watched all of series 1 on 4OD and felt a lot better.

My favourite bit is when Sharon was dumped by her mum-friend.

I hope you are doing a third series? It is so good to watch something that doesn't feel twee or contrived.

RobDelaney · 01/12/2015 21:04

@VenusInFauxFurs

Hi Rob and Sharon,

I loved the switch you pulled on us at the beginning of the first episode when it was revealed that Sharon was actually pregnant with her second child. Thank you!

My penis is proportional to my body i think? Like it's not remarkable large. Nobody ever was like "No, ow! Get it out!!" or anything? So I haven't measured it since I was like 12 or 13 but I know it's bigger than 2 1/2 inches at least.

DickDewy · 01/12/2015 21:04

And I want to know the answer to my wanking question.

'I'd like to know how hard it is for Rob and the other bloke to film those wanking scenes. They're so er, graphic. There would never be the equivalent with Sharon's character, is that just a step too far?'

McButtonwillow · 01/12/2015 21:04

Best and worst bits of working with each other please!

VenusInFauxFurs · 01/12/2015 21:06

Do you want me to repeat my inappropriate penis question from earlier?

Just re-watched the first episode of Series 1. Rob says "A terrible thing has happened. Let's make the best of it." That kind of sums up Catastrophe, doesn't it?

NickAngel · 01/12/2015 21:06

Hi, I know this is about the excellent Catastrophe but , for Sharon, what happened to the sitcom with Entirely Tiles in it? Your character went to prison?
Is there another series?

RobDelaney · 01/12/2015 21:06

@jobrum

Watched the first series on catch up a few weeks ago and love the second series just as much.

We want(ed) everyone to like it! Yes we're whatever age we are with spouses and kids and that's what we're talking about, but hopefully we're doing it with enough honesty and clarity and humor that people like it whether they're 25 or 60 or anywhere in between (or outside that range.) We are certainly not targeting a demographic. Though it's particularly delicious when people think we're filming their lives for source material. x

VenusInFauxFurs · 01/12/2015 21:06

Oh you answered. Blush Ignore me then.
