Hello all,
Piers Morgan, former Editor of the Daily Mirror and News of the World, and now Executive Editor of First News, a weekly newspaper aimed at 9-12 year olds, is coming to Mumsnet for an online chat on Tuesday 10th October at 12.30pm. So make sure you make a note in your diary to log on and post a question. If you can't make the actual event do post your question in advance here. Whilst he can't promise to answer every one he'll do what he can (and we reckon he should be able to type quite fast being a journo and all that).
Best,
MNHQ

or Boris Johnson?

JessaJackOLantern · 10/10/2006 14:14

Sorry but some of those lewd comments were inappropriate in the context of the questions he was answering. Fine make a cheesy comment back at someone asking what sort of pants you wear, but not when someone is asking about sexual stereotyping surely?

Avoiding the SN question too...?

redbullbloodandbump · 10/10/2006 14:14

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU TO MR PIERS MORGAN FOR THE WAY HE HANDLED MY QUESTION I WOULD LIKE HIM TO THINK ABOUT THE WAY SOCIETY TREAT OUR SN CHILDREN NOW, HE COULD OF DONE SOMETHING TO HELP EDUCATE THE NEXT GENERATION BUT IN STEAD MY LITTLE BOY IS GOING TO HAVE TO GROW UP IN THIS LOVELY WORLD WHERE PEOPLE WILL ALLWAYS STARE AT HIM

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 10/10/2006 14:15

Oh he did say goodbye

But no answer to the SN question.

Maybe we should send a letter in to his paper. (Whose title escapes me. Again)

NOMurDErousPLUME · 10/10/2006 14:15

Piers answered questions asked after the SN one, he completely blanked it. Justine's freedom of speech one was posted after, as was QueenEagle's my dh isn't good at sport etc question. He answered both of those.

SHAME ON YOU MR MORGAN.

UlySCREAMS · 10/10/2006 14:15

Stephen fry or Paul Merton

Greensleeves · 10/10/2006 14:16

Somehow I don't think "shame" is Mr Morgan's strong suit

JustineMumsnet · 10/10/2006 14:16

Thanks so much for your time Piers from all at Mumsnet and best of luck with the new paper. Remember Mumsnetters can get 15% off subscriptions with phone orders - 0870 428 8222 by quoting MUMSNET.

Ok so who's next? Cherie Blair?

OP posts:
ScareyCaligulaCorday · 10/10/2006 14:17

I'd like JK Rowling next

Who's going to forward this thread to Private Eye then?

desperateSCOUSEwife · 10/10/2006 14:17

redbull rise above it if you can
he is not worth the anger that you feel

zippitippitoes · 10/10/2006 14:17

I think Stephen fry would be brilliant

ginmummy · 10/10/2006 14:17

Who would win in a Germaine Greer/Piers Morgan fight?? My money's on Ms Greer!

He went down in my estimation when he said he didn't mind feminist as long as they weren't too feminist. Egotistical tw*t! (insert your own vowel there)

RTKangaMummy · 10/10/2006 14:17

I think he SHOULD have answered the SN question

MN Towers please could you email him and ask him why he didn't answer it?

btw Did MN ask him to come on or did he ask MN Towers ?????

meowmix · 10/10/2006 14:18

what the hell happened here? is it National Bait-A-Man day and no one told me? You lot went for him with a vengance!

FWIW I think he gave as good as he got and answered a lot more qs than Our Dave ever managed.

redbullbloodandbump · 10/10/2006 14:18

Once again Special Needs children get brushed under the carpet, well what a f$$$$$g t$$$$r

desperateSCOUSEwife · 10/10/2006 14:18

justine
how about
al aynsley green next time

Greensleeves · 10/10/2006 14:18

That was fab, who can we eat next?

Enid · 10/10/2006 14:18

i thought he was funny

I think we should have Kim Pyongyang on next

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 10/10/2006 14:18

Yeah he didn't answer the many questions about what does too feminist mean

anorak · 10/10/2006 14:18

Cherie Blair would be a good choice I think. She is a working mother, has been PM's wife for years and years, has excelled in her own career, is reviled by the press...

and I'd like to hear what she thinks of Piers Morgan as well.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 10/10/2006 14:19

Im more angry at the fact I am the only one who has been singled out for being open and honest.

A lot of other posters have made negative remarks also yet they have been accepted.

I know im hormonal, i know im stressed with 2 sick kids driving me scatty, but its not fair (stamping foot emoticon needed!)

UlySCREAMS · 10/10/2006 14:19

STEPHEN FRY would be good Justine?

I'll do all your ironing for you if you get him.

I'm crap at ironing btw but he thought's there

NOMurDErousPLUME · 10/10/2006 14:20

JUSTINE

Was the SN question forwarded to Morgan ? I assume he saw a filtered version of the thread ? Was he aware that the question was asked ?

meowmix · 10/10/2006 14:20

rofl greeny!

Greensleeves · 10/10/2006 14:20

I got told off as well, JARM - but I couldn't give two tugs of a dead dog's cock. Long live free speech.
