Can't get the fricking lids off these jars!

I know this is a first world problem, but if anyone can offer any cunning solution to aid me try and get into these jars I would be most grateful. I have tried the usual techniques, tapping lid on floor, even took a hammer to one in a fit of pique. Nothing. Nothing at all...gah!

Couldn't get all 5000 in the shot, but here's a few of them.

My strong DH hurt his arm recently trying to open a jar of olives. Should have used a nail through the lid technique instead.

If he broke the fishes, he clearly misjudged the firm tap instruction
