My child has a badge that sees ghosts?

Lighthearted!

DS 4, has a badge he calls “birdie friend.” I may post a photo later! It’s a badge with a bird on.

Birdie Friend seems to have the gift of the “sight!” “Birdie Friend says Bob and Rose are here mummy, they like to have tea with us. Bob and Rose are DH’s grandparents who died many years ago.

“Birdie Friend says the men who lived upstairs looked like you mummy when their faces burned off.” We used to live in a former military hospital and I had a sheet mash on my face! The ward upstairs had indeed been a burns/plastics ward!

“Mummy, Birdie Friend says the end is coming soon.”

😂😱😨

It was vaguely believable till the nursery/chaplain bit. Got a bit carried away didn’t you OP.

Never mind, it’s still all very amusing!

Chocpear · 20/01/2020 21:01

@TheFormidableMrsC, thank you for sharing how they looked to you.

Howmanysleepsnow · 20/01/2020 21:02

So... does anyone see anything in this photo? Again, no spirits present at the time!

The chaplain came around to bless the house and BF!

DS is now in bed. Fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow.

@pushingdaisies, I only see wood grain, I'm afraid.

TheReluctantCountess · 20/01/2020 21:15

Are you going to keep the badge at home tomorrow?

Stinkycatbreath · 20/01/2020 21:16

@Howmanysleepsnow. I see nothbut a bin and a door.

ThatLibraryMiss · 20/01/2020 21:16

I do!

I see a bit of skirting board that got missed by the painter.

Do I win?

Stinkycatbreath · 20/01/2020 21:19

This is a very gripping thread but I don't believe it all😁. I do believe in things we can't see but how likely is it that this is true im sceptical.

iklboo · 20/01/2020 21:20

I see faces in things all the time - I deliberately look for a pattern that looks like one for fun. We have a male baboon on the floor of our downstairs loo. Looking for 'The Gods In The Trees' is a great way to pass an afternoon.

Stinkycatbreath · 20/01/2020 21:22

Not sure quite what im supposed to see! But as a side note there is a lot of plaster bubbling get you damp proofing checked. It lools like the plaster has blown 😀

iklboo · 20/01/2020 21:31

Messy could just be message, not messiah.

Oldishusernewname · 20/01/2020 21:40

This thread right now...

" She said DS was a lovely little boy but can he stop walking round with BF going up to other children and telling them they’ll be dead soon? "

GrinGrinGrin

I think it was with this post oldish

SirChing · 20/01/2020 21:59

@Howmanysleepsnow there seems to be someone standing agajnsf the brown thing on the left. I can't see them as such but feel they are there.

Mlou32 · 20/01/2020 22:03

If you decide to get rid of Birdie Friend, can I pleeeeeeeeeeease have him?!?!?! Grin

FenellaVelour · 20/01/2020 22:24

I do wonder if your ds is enjoying the attention a bit too much now

Somebody is, anyway...

XXcstatic · 20/01/2020 22:41

When oldest DS was in nursery, DH did pick up. He hadn't done one yet as he was working away and when DS came to the door he told his teacher "I don't know who that man is" so she refused to hand him over and poor DH was asked to wait off the premises while they contacted me.

😂

My brother insisted for a whole year of kindergarten that DF was Korean. At the time, we were living in rural Wisconsin, there were virtually no non-white people, let alone Koreans. We knew no one who had been to Korea. He was absolutely adamant though 🤷‍♀️

BunnytheBlueWhale · 20/01/2020 22:46

Anyone else really want to read the nightclub story but too scared to read the nightclub sorry?

Also wish I hadn’t just read this late at night again...

BreconBeBuggered · 20/01/2020 22:51

See, the telling kids they would die soon was the most identifiable bit for me. Years ago a new little kid in the neighbourhood, reception sort of age, came up to us and confidently informed us our dog would die soon.
And, to be fair, the dog did die. Seven years later, which wasn't bad going for a dog already in double figures at the time of the prediction.

TheFormidableMrsC · 20/01/2020 22:52

@XXcstatic That's so funny! Grin

@BunnytheBlueWhale I linked it earlier upthread, it's been knocking around MN for a long time. I find it fascinating rather than scary and also a bit sad really. I am not very easily scared though.

Chocpear · 20/01/2020 23:16

PurpleMice, your story is so funny. I do think the OP peaked too soon with their tales. Good yarn, though!

XXcstatic · 20/01/2020 23:22

OMG, my autocorrect must be possessed...

Rural Switzerland, not rural Wisconsin (though I imagine both were quite low on Koreans in the early 80s, especially Koreans who had fathered blond, blue-eyed sons 😉)

draughtycatflap · 20/01/2020 23:28

This thread has creeped me out. Today I noticed a demonic face in the skidmarks left in the toilet by my husband. It had mad staring eyes made from sweetcorn. Do you think his anus could be possessed?

NemophilistRebel · 20/01/2020 23:28

@CoffeeWithMyOxygen I feel the same about Glastonbury as you

Sister and father seem to love it though
