My child has a badge that sees ghosts?

Lighthearted!

DS 4, has a badge he calls “birdie friend.” I may post a photo later! It’s a badge with a bird on.

Birdie Friend seems to have the gift of the “sight!” “Birdie Friend says Bob and Rose are here mummy, they like to have tea with us. Bob and Rose are DH’s grandparents who died many years ago.

“Birdie Friend says the men who lived upstairs looked like you mummy when their faces burned off.” We used to live in a former military hospital and I had a sheet mash on my face! The ward upstairs had indeed been a burns/plastics ward!

“Mummy, Birdie Friend says the end is coming soon.”

😂😱😨

My kid was 3 when she pointed at my dead grandad's picture. I've never met him but we live in his old house. She told me not long after her sibling was born that he was upstairs with Charlie looking after the baby. I told my dad and he said Charlie was his grandad. Hmmm lol.

She did it on and off for a year and then she forgot all about it

you need to tap into BF's power to access his help for your essay . . .but I fear that may also unleash the hounds of hell so you know, yin/yang.

@JessJonesJumps "hounds of hell ate my homework miss. Sorry miss."

WoollyMollyMonkey · 19/01/2020 19:11

Well your Ds could be right about the “messy” - the end of the world is supposed to happen. With terrible fires, floods and earthquakes - we certainly have those across the globe at the moment don’t we!

Anothernamechange2020 · 19/01/2020 19:12

To add something sensible to this post (rather than the rubbish I accidentally wrote on the previous page!) I would take it seriously and not let your child get involved with an unfamiliar spirit (or any spirit)
A local vicar should be able to help you.
I hope it stops.

BovaryX · 19/01/2020 19:18

He even said the Bee Man was smiling at "Peepo" once. I am not a Woo person at all, but we all loved that house and felt happy there. We also had a very fruitful garden!

That's really lovely. I wonder what the current occupants think of the house? It sounds like an enchanting place

QuintusEstInHorto · 19/01/2020 19:20

Shameless place marking!

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 19/01/2020 19:22

I have had three people thrust their predictions on to me - which is strange because I am a christian and try to actively avoid conscious involvement with spiritual things that are not connected to the light.

Very little (excuse the term) 'woo' or spiritual is dark or evil.

The bible says clearly not to communicate with spirits and so from that I deduce - that its possible and also to not do it.

Now sometimes it may be sadness manifesting, and sometimes it may even be comforting...but I try not to actively go out of my way to do it. It has on several occassions happened to me anyway.

Now, regards the OP, some of what BF may be true, some maybe false, some is already frightening and so that is why I think it should be dealt with by a Catholic priest, Anglican vicar or your local Vineyard pastor ( they are quite good with the supernatural!).

When we lived in our old house my eldest used to hate his bedroom. It was a new build and we were the first people to live in it. He used to tell me every morning that the “crawly crunchy daddy” was standing looking at him in his bed.
We asked what the crawly crunchy daddy looked like, he said he was an old man, bent over and he had horrible dirty teeth that used to crunch when he opened and closed his mouth.
We lived in that house just under 3 years, it was a regular occurrence for him to wake us up shouting that the crawly crunchy daddy was looking at him.
We moved and he never mentioned the crawly crunchy daddy again.
I asked him a couple of years ago if he remembered it, he did and said he used to shut his eyes and hope the crawly crunchy daddy would go away, but could still hear his teeth crunching beside his head.
Used to really freak me out!

Absolutely love this thread...

When my DN was little she gave her Dad an account of the woman walking around the corner as he looked out of the window, there was absolutely no way that she could see out if the window at the time as she was lying in bed.

DH's father died in the house we now live in, during the day I see a figure through the glass lounge door walk into the kitchen and back.

When my DC's were young I used to smell cigarette smoke outside the doors too the room, no one who visits the house is a smoker, his Dad was...

My own Dad died of a heart attack, when I got to his house the paramedics were working on him, there was absolutely no response, hadn't been anything from the time he collapsed. They gestured to me to get my Mom to the hospital asap but they didn't think he would make it. As they carried him downstairs I was in the hallway, he opened his eyes, took a look around the house and looked at me smiled then closed his eyes again. He died before getting to the hospital which was less than 10 minutes away.

iklboo · 19/01/2020 19:51

@myohmywhatawonderfulday - of course. You have your beliefs and I have mine. I respect that Smile

libertyminty · 19/01/2020 19:51

My mum used to suggest I did some investigation and find out what was there before the houses, I was never brave enough and didn’t want to know!

bemusedmoose · 19/01/2020 19:55

At least birdie friend is polite - bore da is good morning.

My daughter could see and talk to my dead father (he died over 30 yrs before she was born) she didn't know he was dead, never saw a photo, knew nothing about him. I was a tot when he passed so know nothing about him and my mum hasnt ever spoken about him, not even to me. Yet she described him perfectly and even used his knick name his school friends called him!!! 😳

So yes they do have imagination and creativity in play but also they say children are more open and able to see what adults can't. My daughter was really sad when she couldnt see my dad's ghost anymore. She would tell me he was sitting with us or just popping out, having a cup of tea... But mostly that he was really happy. I honestly believe he was there and maybe birdie is how your child explains what they see. Humans can't explain everything and what happens after death is definitely one of them. Kids would have no idea what the soilders would have looked like so the white face masks implies he can see previous patients as that is what burn victims would have had on their faces. I find it all seriously fascinating and would love to know more! There are lots of cases of children describing past lives, one boy of 4 asked his mum where his 'other mummy' was. He was so convinced he had another family, told his mum his old name, his family members and where they lived. It was 100 of miles away but it was an actual place and he begged to go 'back home'. He gave them directions all the way to the house. Records showed the family he talked about did live there, nearly 100 yrs ago! All the names were correct. The family died in a freak accident when the boy was young. So freaky unexplainable stuff is common. Religion blames it on the devil, others say it's a mental health problem... I say there's a world of shit we don't get.

But your son isn't scared so they can't be bad. Just sort of there. Believers in ghosts say you can ask them kindly to leave, or ask if they need anything to help them move on. Or you can just let him grow out of it. My daughter stopped seeing my dad before she was 5.

Aprilsinparis · 19/01/2020 20:02

I was just catching up on this thread, and watching, 'My Ghost Story' and the lights tripped and went out.......
I have just shit myself!😱

Alleycat1 · 19/01/2020 20:10

liberty If it used to freak you out imagine how your poor son must have felt...

When I was 6 I went to visit a new schoolfriend. According to her mother we sat out in the garden and she brought us some lemonade and then she deadheaded flowers which meant she overheard our chat. I told my friend in great detail about when I had been a priestess at the time of the Romans. I described the Romans and told my friend that I wore a long, woollen, wheat-coloured dress and lots of bracelets and that I had thick, brown hair down to my waist . To the mother's horror I then described being molested by the soldiers before being killed by being tied to a wheel and rolled down a hill! Needless to say I was not allowed to that friend's again. The mother told my mother that she should have intervened earlier but had been totally mesmerized.
I have had lots of premonitions and some strange experiences but that was bizarre.

I do an aura and house cleanse every night.

I did a house smudge last night..and had the best sleep in ages

libertyminty · 19/01/2020 20:17

Alleycat1, I know, my poor boy, it must have been terrifying for him. Never felt at home in that house, something was “off” which is why we moved on after a few years, it was meant to be our forever house.

mummyofthreemunchkins · 19/01/2020 20:17

I've had several strange occurrences in my life. When I was younger we lived in a house where everyone felt very uneasy in one of the bedrooms. I remember one night I woke up and could hear music playing, and it felt like I was being tickled... i went to call my mum but nothing came out, in the same house, around the same age I went downstairs to get a drink, there were a few people gathered in the living room. I remember thinking maybe my mum and dad were having a gathering. I turned the light on and they all disappeared!
My dad was very ill with pancreatic cancer. One night I had a dream that the close family members were at my mum and dads house, can't remember what was said, but dad got up and said how he had to go, and he just disappeared out my dream. I woke up feeling freezing cold, and my DH said the minute I woke up the candle he had lit nearly blew out (I was asleep on the sofa) we got a call not long after to say my dad had passed away.
I'm a firm believer of all things spiritual!

Stinkycatbreath · 19/01/2020 20:33

Maybe Birdie friend is a long deceased friend of Gwyn Wigley Evans.?

Twernip · 19/01/2020 20:42

I've just read all of this thread...I have a feeling Birdie Fiend will be haunting my dreams tonight!!!

Twernip · 19/01/2020 20:42

Stinkycatbreath · 19/01/2020 20:43
