My child has a badge that sees ghosts?

Lighthearted!

DS 4, has a badge he calls “birdie friend.” I may post a photo later! It’s a badge with a bird on.

Birdie Friend seems to have the gift of the “sight!” “Birdie Friend says Bob and Rose are here mummy, they like to have tea with us. Bob and Rose are DH’s grandparents who died many years ago.

“Birdie Friend says the men who lived upstairs looked like you mummy when their faces burned off.” We used to live in a former military hospital and I had a sheet mash on my face! The ward upstairs had indeed been a burns/plastics ward!

“Mummy, Birdie Friend says the end is coming soon.”

😂😱😨

When I was younger my Nan (lived with us) wanted us to go out shopping. She decided she wanted to go into Manchester. At that point I started crying and said I didn't want to go there, I wanted to go to the local precinct. She was getting cross, saying I was being silly and we'd go to town and have our lunch in Woolworths. I got even more upset until she said 'Fine. We'll go to the bloody precinct then' but was off with me all morning.

We got home and put the telly on - and the news was of a huge fire in Woolworths. People had died, mostly in the canteen and on the floor it was on. The fire had started just when we'd have been eating.

@TheFormidableMrsC do you think the ghost was shocked to see you because if it was a time slip them maybe they thought you were a ghost’?

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 19/01/2020 14:16

I was doing up my (Edwardian) house and looking for old cast iron fireplaces to replace the ones that had been removed. At the secondhand place we went to there was one that would have fit. But I thought there was something 'evil' about it. I couldn't see if but I could. But I thought I was being stupid so squashed that feeling. Only when I went back to show my dh he said - there is something off about that fireplace. It seems evil. I couldn't believe what he said but I was so glad, and I have decided not to squash that.

So I really do think things can be attached to objects.

Try the Welsh thing..... Ty Bach (toilet) cwtch (cuddle) Google some etc

Lailaha · 19/01/2020 14:53

Well, the good news is that you have a portal to another dimension.

The bad news is that the jury is out on whether it's DS or BFShock

Oldishusernewname · 19/01/2020 14:57

This escalated quickly!

On holiday in France several years ago, in a small gallery with dd, aged about two or three. She was wandering around looking at the pictures and singing softly to herself. Dh videoed it because he thought it was really sweet.

Later on we watched the video, and with the sound turned up discovered that the words she was singing over and over were “Daddy’s in a box. Daddy can’t get out” Shock

To those saying you never hear of modern day ghosts. Not true, my last experience was with a local character that I didn't know had died until the following week. First solid one I've ever experienced too, though there was something off about her, difficult to explain, but her colour just wasn't right & it felt odd.

Plenty of documented modern ghosts too, I think a better known one is a young lad in a nightclub who is regularly seen by other customers

My mentor, who actually worked with Catholic priests during exorcisms & cleansing via the spiritualist church, talked of places where there was any kind of horror, blood & gore attracting negative entities & sometimes they could trap other passed over human spirits in that space. I'd be concerned that this is what is going on here & where as a lot of what your DS talks of is probably harmless & glad of a chat, something is off about this.

VenusClapTrap · 19/01/2020 15:16

I remember reading the story about the nightclub ghost on here. That one was really chilling.

BunnytheBlueWhale · 19/01/2020 15:23

I’ve seen a modern ghost. It’s not true that sightings are only reported of ghosts in Victorian clothing etc.

steff13 · 19/01/2020 15:25

I need more information on the end. Is this a second coming thing, should I start going to church regularly? Or is it like a plague where I can just wash my hands and hope for the best?

FlamingoAndJohn · 19/01/2020 15:38

The thing with modern ghosts is that you will notice someone dressed in Victorian etc clothes. Someone could walk down the street tomorrow dressed in 90s clothes and you wouldn’t notice.

Mumbassa · 19/01/2020 15:40

This is terrifying!!

overnightangel · 19/01/2020 15:44

Ah i never thought of that @FlamingoAndJohn , good point

dellacucina · 19/01/2020 15:49

I used to live near Spitalfields market. One night, I had a dream about Jack the Ripper tormenting me. I later researched the sites and discovered that Jack the Ripper indeed had operated basically right where I was living (though no known murders in the immediate vicinity)

This is tenuous at best, but is probably my most woo experience.

LilQueenie · 19/01/2020 15:55

seriously I would get someone to cleanse your house and get rid of the badge.

LilQueenie · 19/01/2020 16:00

btw its not the badge itself but may be linked to whoever owned it.

Hauskat · 19/01/2020 16:01

Have you asked what BF wants? Besides Black Forest gateau and cheesy fish?

NemophilistRebel · 19/01/2020 16:04

With my woo cap on I think the end of the Earth comments can be explained.

If it’s true that he is indeed receiving messages and communicating with past spirits who were injured in the war, if they are stuck in that time and haven’t passed over it’s very likely that they are worrying and the feeling being that the end of the world is coming.
Many people were religious back then and it would have been of great comfort to those that needed it to think that a messiah would be coming to save the good and take them to heaven.

I therefore do not have any concerns that BF is bringing messages about the future and fortune telling off mass destruction/ genocide

NemophilistRebel · 19/01/2020 16:05

I haven’t seen Black Forest gateaux for years.
My nan used to make it for us.

dellacucina · 19/01/2020 16:06

Oh, another one. One day I really wanted to get in touch with my former boss after something reminded me of her. Literally the next day I learned that she had passed away the night before. I was pretty gutted about that one.

Aunty5ocial · 19/01/2020 16:08

I am all over this thread but need to cook dinner now. Back soon!

Rubyupbeat · 19/01/2020 16:08

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime
My sisters last house had a very malignant thing there, full apparition, would wake up with him crouched next to her bed staring at her and bearing in mind she was a non believer, doesnt watch films etc.... didn't tell the children obviously, then after a couple of years her daughter started getting pulled out of bed, along to the top of the stairs, he/it would slide, not walk along her bedroom floor, pull the covers off her. So physical yes, it started when they were renovating a room in their 300 year old huge house. But because of its description down to its hat and to how he gradually became so strong, I am certain he was a shadow person, which are in fact reported all round the globe.
Anyway, she started praying and praying after it started getting physical and one night this huge bright light appeared at the end of her bed, she is still convinced it was our mum and he never came back.
She has since moved from there. And meant to say, it was only girls who saw him, inc. 2 foster girls, although she said to them it must be a dream?

LilQueenie · 19/01/2020 16:10

the end is coming does not need to mean end of the world. It could be anything or anyone. I think this thing is toying with the child. its not lighthearted either if this is really happening.

TheReluctantCountess · 19/01/2020 16:14

I’m loving this thread!
