Poor little Mr Tiddles - can't take out the chickens, can't get near the tropical fish, gets his arse handed to him daily by Grumpy's cats - if mauling Grumpy makes him feel more of a Thug Cat than why not.

Finally got round to returning to the Litter Tray & making a UserName for cat-related-things. Am torn between being sad I missed reading TC Saga as it was progressing & the sheer joy of having read it in one go. My friend who has a Bengal takes it for walks on a lead. She’s also a kind of giant hamster wheel type-thing for it...

My own cats are indoor cats. There are a couple of local Thug Cats who try to menace them through the glass of the French windows (on one occasion a grey ball of fur tried it on the sitting room window; she totally freaked out at my Very Angry Hiss & fell off backwards) but Messrs Balanchine & Nijinsky are now, at almost 8, having None Of This. They’re well aware the interloper can’t actually get them but Jin will still sometimes tell them to feck off if they’re upsetting his brother (who would like everyone to be friends).

TBH I’m kind of assuming The Art Of War & The Prince are already well, er, dew-clawed tomes chez TC, but maybe you could try to persuade your NDN to try to guide his reading towards less Machiavellian texts? Anyone who thinks cats don’t read, please see attached photo of Balanchine perusing some Pratchett...

Love your bonded yin and yang cats. None of my current lot are bonded (despite Battersea assuring me that the latest two kittens were and therefore had to go together.)

However two of my previous generation of cats were bonded and were always together.

I am a bit biased, but they are a bit cute. Fiendishly clever (we’ve to have a lock on the fridge, never mind the food cupboards; I discovered in November that they can open my rucksack - made error of making packed lunch before showering & emerged from bathroom to discover A Certain Black Cat had gromphled 1/4 of the [vegan “ham”] sandwich I’d made to take on that day’s Brownie outing; & they’re not in the least bit interested in Things On TV having sussed as tiny kittens that they’re unreachable) - perhaps that’s what you get when you name your cats after artistic geniuses. Not sure what I am a cloud in trousers sounds like in cat, but...

I’ve had my Mog Squad since they were 8 weeks old. Littermate half-brothers who’d previously been living in a loft seeing not-very-much of one human who was trying to mind them as best he could. (Not His Cat who’d got in to give birth up there...). They’re not that hot on New Humans even now - Nijinsky generally hides under my bed until the Stranger Danger has passed; but if he thinks there may be some threat to me he will come valiantly to my aid: obviously any & all appointments with HCPs are hugely improved by a having a cat sitting atop the door yowling like a furry banshee...

They are utter snuggleupapusses - if they’re not cuddling each other it’s almost certainly because they’re busy snuggling up with me instead...
