To harness the power of Mumsnet to make a little girl's Christmas...

Posting here for traffic because I am clearly not BU Xmas Wink

My friend's DD has lost her beloved Floffel. Floffel is her seal cuddly toy from babyhood and will never be found again as Floffel was lost overseas.

Friend's DD has written to Father Christmas asking for Floffel back. Nothing else on the list - just Floffel.

They don't effing make Floffel anymore Xmas Shock Xmas Sad Xmas Confused

Friend's DD as been through the wringer lately - can't go into details as would be outing but suffice to say she could really really do with a boost.

Please please please wonderful people of Mumsnet - if you happen to have an Aurora Naturally seal like the one in the photo hanging around your house (it's flannel not plush apparently and has the word 'naturally' on its bum) that you'd be willing to sell/give away it would truly honestly make this little girl's Christmas.

TIA Flowers

I am not sure quite how the page works. There isn´t an obvious way to buy it. I have sent them a message asking them how to do it. I shall get back to you as soon as I hear.

The paypal thing would be fine. I am really hoping it all works out!

There were a few English sites like that too.

I didn't understand them.

What is the Spanish website about?

OlennasWimple · 13/12/2017 20:55

If you find one in the US, it's possible that I might be able to help (complicated, but I can explain by PM if it looks like that might an option)

PersianCatLady · 13/12/2017 20:57

This Etsy seller will remake lost toys from photos for £82ish: link
That is quite a lot of money.

I know your DD had the Natural Seal before but there are loads of plush seals, some of them are quite cute.

I think that Aurora themselves would love the publicity of finding one of these for you though.

oliveinacampervan · 13/12/2017 20:58

Yep ebay have them.

margaritasbythesea · 13/12/2017 20:59

On a quick look it seems as though it is a site for infomation about pregnancy and babies. It doesn´t have a shop but has information about products stocked by shops. I guess it is a form of advertising. The website given for that particular shop mentioned doesn´t exist. The shop does exist though. or at least it is in the yellow pages. I will give them a ring tomorrow and see if I have any luck.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/12/2017 21:00

Maybe he'll still be in the charity shop, I do hope so, poor little girl.😢

GetMeOutOfHerePlease · 13/12/2017 21:01

I really really hope someone can get you the correct one, but if not, could Mum order a similar one, and include a letter from Floffel explaining while on his adventures he met a sad seal who had no family and no friends and floffel knows how much she looked after and livedhim, he thought she is the perfect person to look after his friend and make him feel, loved etc until Floffel comes home?

Or something like that. Not the same I know, but might make her less sad?

I think you are right.

Does anybody read German??

StinkPickle · 13/12/2017 21:04

immeme you’re so kind going to check tomorrow.

I’m crossing everything either that the charity shop one or the Spanish one comes good.

PersianCatLady · 13/12/2017 21:04

On Google Chrome you can translate to English.

Seems to cost Euro 14.50 including P & P and you can use Paypal.

OlennasWimple · 13/12/2017 21:05

Is this one too fluffy?

Playdohnut · 13/12/2017 21:05

This website used to have it, might be worth dropping an email to see if they are getting more in stock: www.wellwickedstuff.com/baby-seal-naturally-soft-toy.html

PersianCatLady · 13/12/2017 21:06

OlennasWimple · 13/12/2017 21:06

9.90 euros from Germany - quick OP, buy it now!

Brokenbiscuit · 13/12/2017 21:09

I really hope you find one, OP. Still sad about my lost bunny, nearly forty years later.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/12/2017 21:10

Wonderful that someone has been able to hunt one down! And if any extra turn up, that's a bonus - just in case this happens again!

chocolateworshipper · 13/12/2017 21:10

The German website linked above has it in stock, but no option to select shipping to the UK. Don't suppose you know anyone in Germany OP?!
