To harness the power of Mumsnet to make a little girl's Christmas...

Posting here for traffic because I am clearly not BU Xmas Wink

My friend's DD has lost her beloved Floffel. Floffel is her seal cuddly toy from babyhood and will never be found again as Floffel was lost overseas.

Friend's DD has written to Father Christmas asking for Floffel back. Nothing else on the list - just Floffel.

They don't effing make Floffel anymore Xmas Shock Xmas Sad Xmas Confused

Friend's DD as been through the wringer lately - can't go into details as would be outing but suffice to say she could really really do with a boost.

Please please please wonderful people of Mumsnet - if you happen to have an Aurora Naturally seal like the one in the photo hanging around your house (it's flannel not plush apparently and has the word 'naturally' on its bum) that you'd be willing to sell/give away it would truly honestly make this little girl's Christmas.

TIA Flowers

It may be too late, but I've got a Floffel-sized back pack!

Maybe BA lost it in transit for a bit

FairfaxAikman · 21/12/2017 15:50

A backpack is.a brilliant idea fairfax. I will see if I can find something...

My dad wrote back to the elves last night telling them where she last saw floffle and the places he could have been. It's really sweet. Then she said to me very bravely that even if they can't find him, at least she knows she's tried everything! Sniff sniff!

Just rtft, how absolutely amazing Xmas Grin blatantly placemarking for the Christmas update!

confusedandemployed · 21/12/2017 18:35

Argh how lovely! I saw the thread when it first started, I'm so happy to see the outcome and not placemarking at all for the big reveal

CatkinToadflax · 21/12/2017 18:42

Floffel-ly placemarking Xmas Grin

The world can be such a scary horrible place and yesterday wasn’t a good day for me. Today has been a really lovely day and finding this thread has just topped it off.

I fucking love MN.

Awww! I too have the floffle love
I think Floffle should be the new MN word for a warm fuzzy feeling it's certianly better than the arsehole based definition

calzone · 23/12/2017 21:59

((Sobbing))

ByeByePrivacy · 23/12/2017 23:01

I saw a floffle go past sitting on the parcel shelf of a car! I so hope it was a fellow MNer showing some Christmas solidarity love!
My DH didn’t know why I got so excited at the back of a car Blush

Blogwoman · 23/12/2017 23:22

This is just lovely! So glad at the outcome & looking forward to a Christmas Day update. My DD once lost a toy of the mouse ‘Small’ that came with the book of that name. No replacement could be found. Eventually we wrote to the author, who sent a replacement with a lovely message & drawing for her!
