For me it's the Visqueen bin bags I was chosen to try (and converted to a permanent user).

And the amazing support on the couple of serious threads I've posted.

Plus the laughs I've had reading some of the threads on here. Always cheers me up.

For the entertainment.

And on a practical note, how to get rid of skin tags. Had two ugly fuckers I've been so self conscious of although could manage to hide generally. But now they're gone! No more worries about hiding them.

SnorkelParka · 12/12/2016 18:11

HG mould remover spray here too...also for preventing me from choosing an unwise carpet, for directing me to a good offer for my super nice doc marten boots. For hours of entertainment. Still resisting the Hush ruched skirt...

NotYoda · 12/12/2016 18:15

People on The Litter Tray topic, who gave advice and support when we had our 20 year old cat put to sleep.

Cailler · 12/12/2016 18:17

I honestly believe that the women on the TTC boards deserve as much credit as my DH for my two week old DS sleeping in my arms right now!! Their support and advice was incredible and helped me deal with months of heartache, I learned so much from my time spent on those boards.

The tip on how to clean your oven with a moistened dishwasher tablet has been fairly life changing too!!

noeffingidea · 12/12/2016 18:21

Nothing in particular. It's just one of several forums I use to pass the time.
So I guess I'm thankful for mumsnet being moderately entertaining, but only in a general sort of way.
I'm very thankful for the internet as a whole though. Can't imagine life without broadband.

ForalltheSaints · 12/12/2016 18:31

The other players on Mornington Crescent- thank you to you all.

Silverdream · 12/12/2016 18:31

A daft thing but taking an extension lead to plug into adapter plug on holiday. No sibling fighting to charge stuff this holiday. Simple, why didn't I think of it but ingenious tip.

Chipsandonionrings · 12/12/2016 18:37

Zoflora - my house smells lush
Low carb boot camp - 2st down
Kettlebells recommendation
Ecig advice - got me off the proper fags, they might still kill me but real cigs def will!

Lots of laughs and keeping me entertained.

Also taught me I had marionette lines - never knew they existed (sad face ha)

Loads of other stuff too but that's all that springs to mind

TiggyD · 12/12/2016 19:19

Giving me courage and support in sending children's book ideas to agents.

BurnTheBlackSuit · 12/12/2016 19:26

Harry Potter studio tour :)

Sandwich toaster thread.
All the little bits of advice I have had.

Tanito279 · 12/12/2016 19:29

The parking threads, especially the ones with diagrams. Thank you!

eyeoresancerre · 12/12/2016 19:32

Discussions on gas lighting and fogging. The feminism board has made light bulbs pop all over my brain this year. The warmth and compassion shown to those in need. The straight down the line advice that is sometimes hard to hear and laugh out loud comments from posters such as Anyfucker. This forum gets such a bad rap but it has been such an important part of my life. It sounds cheesy but I'd be lost without it.

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 12/12/2016 19:41

For me it was finding support when I decided to start losing weight in January 2016. The original thread diversified into a secret fb group which is still going strong and has many mn members. The support and acceptance has been life changing and to date I have lost over 70lbs Shock and feel like a different woman. In 2017 I will lose a bit more then maintain, continuing doing my LCHF/Keto.

WineCheeseSleep · 12/12/2016 20:09

Loads! I post replies a lot here but have never started my own thread as I tend to search for when the issue might have been discussed previously and usually find the perfect thread.

I was really losing my temper with my 3 year old when he wouldn't get dressed in the morning but took advice from here and now get him dressed before breakfast and it's now fine. He's not a little baby any more and he doesn't get himself too messy which is why we'd always done it that way and not thought any more of it. Such a tiny thing but it's making a big difference to our whole day because we're not starting out shouting - breakfast is a better motivator than pre school.

Also it just makes me feel normal a lot of the time when I see other people going through the same things.

Bodicea · 12/12/2016 20:14

Giving me something to flick through when Breast feeding. I haven't got the attention span for a book anymore.

IamtheZombie · 12/12/2016 20:33

The seemingly unending supply of support and love from far too many posters (and MNHQ) to name.

Laughter. It really is the best medicine.

Being here 24/7. Zombies can have strange sleep patterns and there's always someone around.

MycatsaPirate · 12/12/2016 20:42

Mycathates Wow!! That's amazing, well done on the weight loss!!

I think knowing we are not alone with whatever we are facing is always good.

I've been posting on the thread about kids doing stupid things tonight and it's utterly hilarious but someone said that they are glad to know it's not just THEIR kids that do incredibly stupid or annoying things.

With the world of FB and instagram it's easy to imagine that everyone else has a kind of rosy life with nothing going wrong ever.

Nail varnish on verruccas. Dds are finally going.

Loved the laughs and support on here.

Best nest of vipers I've ever come across

RedLemonade · 12/12/2016 20:50

Baby sleep advice from FATEdestiny.

I'm still knackered, but knackered with a plan. And I do love a good plan.

Barabajagal · 12/12/2016 20:51

There was a thread recently about the importance of charging a Philips Lumea regularly or it will die - something I hadn't spotted in my (very brief) glance at the instructions when I bought it back in the summer. That advice saved me somewhere north of £300. It more than makes up for all the clothes/makeup/skincare/gadgets I buy after reading about them here.

Actually, I think I bought the Lumea after reading about it here!

DearPrudence · 12/12/2016 20:53

Low carb bootcamp and BIWI. I'm 1st 9lbs down since October and I feel better than I have in years.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 12/12/2016 21:00

That I can use persil liquid in my carpets cleaner.

Getting me through the night on a regular basis.

Many hilarious threads.

Aftertheraincomesthesun · 12/12/2016 21:39

Bernard - Persil in carpet cleaner? Whoah! Could you tell me about that?

cakesonatrain · 13/12/2016 07:25

I've not posted about it, but just reading various threads has given me the confidence to tackle the casual sexism at work.
