Aibu over lady using my parking spaces.

We live in a housing estate and each house or flat has one or two spaces allocated to them. Most of the spaces are directly outside our houses except a few that are round the side that have garages. The spaces aren't numbered but everyone seems to know who's is whose. There's a new neighbour that has moved in next door to me (a corner house) and has a garage parking space round the back of her house, however she uses both my spaces as she parks in the middle of them. It's quite annoying when there's nowhere else to park as you have to park further down the road.

I went over today and introduced myself and poilitley told her the spaces were mine and hers was round the back but she was welcome to use our other space when we don't have guests but could she park to one side so I can fit my car next to hers. She looked at me with a blank expression, said no and shut the door on me! What do I do now!? I just stood there for a moment open mouthed and then went home.

Now I'm not sure if she has mobility problems as she's not exactly nimble anymore (about 65) but I am shocked at her one word reply!

OP posts:

I'd let her fucking tyres down. Not when she's parked on the wrong place obv.

TheReluctantCountess · 17/02/2015 16:38

I used to live in a flat and parking was scarce. The flats were all one bed, and one flat-dweller managed to have three cars. Every morning, I would put a dog poo on top of one of the cars - the one blocking a path. I can be an unreasonable cow.

Ohfourfoxache · 17/02/2015 16:51

Of course they have to be penguin bollards, Snape - how else are we to spot the property of mumsnetters who have posted about parking issues?

KatoPotato · 17/02/2015 16:57

Reader beware of penguin bollard thread and those linked within!

I've had mn open all day at work popping in and out of the penguin bollard story, the law student who wanted to extend her Grade 2 listed house for £2k through a passageway, and the new neighbour who wanted the OP to hand over ownership of a shared walkway and then stole her bins...

KatoPotato · 17/02/2015 16:58

I think i was most shocked the the penguin bollard OP was able to afford £600 on them just for decoration!

Pipbin · 17/02/2015 16:59

The law student wanting to extend was the first thread I read.

Pipbin · 17/02/2015 16:59

I still want to know what happened.

KatoPotato · 17/02/2015 17:00

Pipbin I was most disappointed that the OP never came back...

BubGal13 · 17/02/2015 17:10

thanks Pip will dig it out!!

MooMaid · 17/02/2015 17:13

As an aside I clicked on the daily fail link a page or two back. What's with all the pictures of the women dressed up - adds fuck all to the story! But whoever parked next to her - what an utter twat

KitKat1985 · 17/02/2015 17:13

OP I think you and should supportive neighbour should take firm action. I would never advise damaging rude bitches car, but there's no law as far as I'm aware to sneaking out at night and covering rude bitches car in flour, eggs and milk (think of it as being a honorary pancake for pancake day).

kittycatz · 17/02/2015 17:26

shamelessly place marking - this is a great thread... but I wonder if the parking woman reads mumsnet and is getting a kick out of continuing to be outrageous

FushandChups · 17/02/2015 17:30

Ok - I need to know what happens when NAR comes home so, with nothing new to add, her is my place mark Grin

Staywithme · 17/02/2015 17:43

You and Nar should getting building blocks and build a dry wall on the parking specs so that if she pulls in it will be too narrow for her to open the door.

thenightsky · 17/02/2015 17:44

KatoPotato I remember the Grade II law student extension and the Handing Over the Walkway threads!!! Classic. Wonder how they turned out. Grin

goldvelvet · 17/02/2015 17:45

I read the top comment on the daily mail article and Op factor 50 sunscreen on her car windows sounds like a marvellous idea to me Grin

Mmmbacon · 17/02/2015 17:47

I hear a banana up the exhaust can be quite effective, (another blatant place mark)

Staywithme · 17/02/2015 17:52

Oh. Just thought of something. Can you put some heavy pot plants up the middle of the two spaces then she won't be able to park in the middle but you will still have two spaces. After all she seems to need a bigger space so it wouldn't be any use to her.

Snoopytwist · 17/02/2015 17:53

Is NAR home yet, Op? We want a second by second account... (marking place and ignoring any plans for pancakes..)

wowfudge · 17/02/2015 17:53

Actually putting something between the two spaces is a great idea.

Staywithme · 17/02/2015 17:55

Dam I've probably just gave a solution which will mean no more parking thread. AngrySad

ladygracie · 17/02/2015 17:55

MooMaid, I thought that! Sooo many photos of her all dressed up to go out! Very bizarre & unnecessary. Outrageous parking though.

Nanasueathome · 17/02/2015 18:05

Effort goodness sake
How much longer do we have to wait for a full blown up update?

Nanasueathome · 17/02/2015 18:06

Oops, stupid iPad and autocorrect
That should say FOR goodness sake

londonrach · 17/02/2015 18:10

Hands around blankets and hot water bottles for the wait. You do realise nothing may have happened and op does ave a real life and might work, have other commitments rather than updating..
