I am pretty much Duran Duranned out from my previous thread but have been looking on You Tube and pretending it's the 80s again.

I give you and for starters.

Anyone beat them for 80s fabulousness? Grin

My 16y old increasingly finds 80s music cool. I think it may be time for a comeback

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 20:54

Blow Monkeys-Fab. Grin

Not a huge Depeche Mode fan but love that song.

I went to see Howard Jones and Prince at Wembley. Even after all these years, Prince is by far the best live act I've ever seen. I m stuck in an 80s time warp though. Even though I obsessed over Duran Duran, Prince was bloody amazing.

I feel like a fake on here actually, I'm only 29! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 21:03

I love all these. I am a teen again. I am going to marry George Michael/John Taylor/Michael Praed. Grin

No need to calm down Facebook. Nothing wrong with 80s enthusiasm.

If you love 80's music listen to Absolute 80's on sky/virgin
Some real blasts from the past on there

holycowwhatnow · 17/08/2013 21:06

Michael Praed, I fucking LOVED him! My first major crush. But he let himself down by being Prince Whatever on Dynasty.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 17/08/2013 21:07

I was the accidental baby of the family, my sisters are 7 and 10 years older than me, my cousins are the same age as them. I was subjected introduced to pop music at an early age.

It was my job to change the records and if I was on my best behaviour I was allowed to choose the next song. Grin

FacebookWanker · 17/08/2013 21:08

Ahhhh Michael Praed. I had a poster of him on my headboard....

sergeantmajor · 17/08/2013 21:09

The Blow Monkeys - joy! had forgotten all about them.
My end of primary school disco played Eye of the Tiger, and they played it again at my ds's end of primary disco! Surely that stands the test of time.
But as for ... pmsl, the least threatening guys in the world trying to look hard!

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 21:10

The thing is with the 80s there are whole groups I didn't like as well such as-

Erasure
The Eurythmics
U2

Aww ABF, you got to listen to all the good music very young.

I think this was more late 70s but I still love it Blush

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 21:13

Right just to warn you the bloke in one is going to marry me so hands off. Love Sparkling circa 1984.

The Eye of the Tiger video looks like a spoof...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/08/2013 21:17

Sits sparkling down to explain that the likelihood of George and her marrying are on a par with myself and wee Jimmy Sommerville.

But we could have Erasure at our imaginary weddings Wink

Growlithe · 17/08/2013 21:18

Me and my sister watched this over and over from Top of the Pops. God bless you VHS video.
