Weird things your body does, and you wonder if it happens to others too?

I know Im not the only one.

I cant even be arsed to name change, here goes.

Nervous fanny.

You know when someone falls - hard and cracks their chin or elbow or whatever, my stomach drops, I get a shot of anxiety that shoots through the pit of my stomach down to my fanny. Right in the middle of my fanny I get a horrible feeling of anxiety.

Its only started in the last few years, its really unpleasant. Its like a bolt of aniexty, and I ONLY get it when someone hurts themselves. Wtf is that all about?

Anyway, what weird shit does your body do? Confess.

ah well, since geoff's trapped wind explanation, i wld like to register myself as a javelin arse sufferer after giving birth, and it was trapped wind. certainly made me wince

TastesLikePanda · 19/07/2012 22:55

Interesting, but not much applied to me.... I've only had one or two migraines in my life, but I do have a huge general lack of coordination...

OpheliaBumps · 19/07/2012 22:56

Ooh I get the growing enormous thing too, especially my fingers, and it's particularly intense if I ever have a fever.

I also get javelin arse and warm wet ear - a sensation like warm water flowing over my head and out of my ear. It manages to be disturbing and comforting at the same time, very odd.

TheEnthusiasticTroll · 19/07/2012 22:56

i also get the shrinking feeling in bed, like the alice in wonderland thing. and the falling feeling just as about to fall asleep that wakes me up

LittleWaveyLines · 19/07/2012 22:56

I've been wanting to ask this one for ages!

If I rub my eyes (in the dark or I can't see it) - I see a bright spot on the opposite side of the eyeball that I am pressing.... PLEASE someone else get this?

EyeoftheStorm · 19/07/2012 22:57

Wince? Wince? That hardly describes the pain that is javelin arse tox

Stannwigg · 19/07/2012 22:57

OMG, just googled Alice in Wonderland syndrome. I had that so frequently as a child (especially when I was ill with a temperature) - I can't believe it's actually real and exists. Have had it very infrequently as an adult, it's so unpleasant - but just absolutely gobsmacked to find I'm not the only one. Amazing.

TheNamesTheyAreAChangin · 19/07/2012 22:57

My belly button has a direct line to my fanjo - if I poke my belly button I get a stabbing pain in my fanjo, not nice and can make cleaning it difficult.

My nose rarely runs with bogeys coming out of my nose... they all drip down my throat and I have to spit it out. yes it is gross but I try to do polite sweeps of my mouth with a tissue rather than hawking and gobbing.

toxtethogrady · 19/07/2012 22:58

well, there were teeth marks on the radiator too....

TeaDr1nker · 19/07/2012 22:58

I get those blister things as well on my hands. Also I am sure I can feel the tiny hairs in my ears moving when someone is walking into a room, this ear thing usually happens in my house when it is quiet and then DP or DC come into the room. V odd

cocolepew · 19/07/2012 22:59

Pain shooting up your vag is probably a slight prolapse.

I get a 'bubble' that comes out of my vagina and travels up the front of my bits,it pops around the clit. IYSWIMConfused

I do really loud hiccups but only ever do 6 at a time.

EyeoftheStorm · 19/07/2012 22:59

Exactly Grin

doinmummy · 19/07/2012 23:00

gremlin Yes I get orgasms in my sleep.....really good ones too !!

NiceCupOfTeaAndASitDown · 19/07/2012 23:00

This thread has made me feel a bit of a freak.. I have so many!

*Javlin arse
*swelling up feeling (especially in lips/tongue)
*The backs of my knees go weak if I see or hear about something painful like a deep cut (my mum gets this too)
*the thing where the itch is somewhere completely different to where I think it is
*since giving birth I am massively ticklish, never used to be at all it drives me mad
*I'm able to 'find' things I've lost without looking, it's like my hands can remember where I left them when consciously I can't
*both myself and my brother have lightening reflexes and can catch falling things without thinking
*sleep paralysis, I think this is linked to stress but really freaks me out

Probably the weirdest thing for me is something that's happened a few times now; I'll be asleep or midway between asleep and awake and the first time I suddenly realised my legs were raised above my body, both together almost at a 90 degree angle..my body was vibrating and I was aware of a very bright light. The minute I was consciously aware of what was happening my legs fell back down and the light/vibration stopped. Since then I have had times where I'm almost positive I'm outside and above my own body, always accompanied by a very loud buzzing sound. It's happened about 3 times now and the only thing that's made me think it wasn't real was that DH and DS were sleeping peacefully either side of me.. The noise would surely have woken them. Not entirely a 'body' thing but all this made me think of it. Watching with interest, some very cool stuff here

toxtethogrady · 19/07/2012 23:00

do i qualify then?

NeedToSleepZZZ · 19/07/2012 23:00

Another gleeker and have passed on this gift to ds, lucky child.

I cannot shake a ketchup bottle without my other hand doing a synchronised shaking motion but on its own Confused

choccyp1g · 19/07/2012 23:01

I get the vibrating fanny, have done all my life as far as I can remember;
also get the vibrating eyelids, usually when over tired. Also the fizzing in various parts of the body, i assume it is feeling your blood circulating. Oh and the orgasms in sleep, lucky me.

Seeing your heartbeating in your eyes; my sister gets this as well; have been told it nmeans you blood pressure is dangerously high, but mine isn't.
The itchy feet that you just can't scratch came on along with the hot flushes, the strange cold patch on my bum in the middle of the night, the pins and needles in arms, the pounding heart, and the AGONY in heels on getting out of bed in the morning; all down to menopause I think.

But here's one not previously mentioned, quite regularly at night, usually not long after lying down to sleep, (after the obligatory hot flush which happens about 5 minutes after lying down, regardless of the actual temperature), I get this amazing feeling moving from one side of my brain to the other, as though everything is all clear and fresh inside my head. I suspect it is due to something unblocking in sinuses or inner ears, but if only my head could feel like that all the time, I think I could change the world.

EyeoftheStorm · 19/07/2012 23:01

Of course. Am looking forward to next time it happens so I can think of this thread.

Chubfuddler · 19/07/2012 23:02

The Orgasm in your sleep thing is completely normal, I think it's to do with going to bed with a full bladder. Presses on g spot or something.

MadBanners · 19/07/2012 23:02

yes to javelin arse when on my period!

Also, if i really really need a wee, but have held off for whatever reason, when i do actually go, my teeth tingle!

doinmummy · 19/07/2012 23:02

coco Oh yes I get the bubbles of air from my fanjo that run to my button and then pop Grin

OHforDUCKScake · 19/07/2012 23:02

Im in pain laughing about javlin arse and the ear wax!

ChooChooLaverne · 19/07/2012 23:03

This thread is so funny.

I sometimes get a tingling feeling in the roof of my mouth when my nipple is tweaked.

I get an itchy crawling feeling in the back of my head if I drink hot soup too quickly. Doesn't seem to happen with tea or coffee though.

If I eat McDonalds it always makes me cough.

YY to javelin arse.

OpheliaBumps · 19/07/2012 23:03

I just goggled too, I get migraines so that explains mine, how weird, I thought I was the only one too!

UmmOfUmbridge · 19/07/2012 23:03

Yey nervous fanjo here too! And random itch. Plus sometimes I get a huge random itch in my leg and it makes it do a massive twitch.
Really weird but since I was little when I laugh too hard I get a very intense pain low down on the right side of the back of my head. It's quite scary and I have to stop myself from laughing too hard :(

Sometimes I get a weird numbness up the inside of my leg up to my fanjo. Lasts a few mins. I've had this occasionally since I gave birth to ds 16 years ago so assume its some sort of child birth related nerve damage.
Loving all this freakiness!
