Weird things your body does, and you wonder if it happens to others too?

I know Im not the only one.

I cant even be arsed to name change, here goes.

Nervous fanny.

You know when someone falls - hard and cracks their chin or elbow or whatever, my stomach drops, I get a shot of anxiety that shoots through the pit of my stomach down to my fanny. Right in the middle of my fanny I get a horrible feeling of anxiety.

Its only started in the last few years, its really unpleasant. Its like a bolt of aniexty, and I ONLY get it when someone hurts themselves. Wtf is that all about?

Anyway, what weird shit does your body do? Confess.

If I wear a bra that's not massively supportive I get sore all up my chest, my neck, the top of my back and my shoulders. Really bad. I can't even move my arms without being in loads of pain. I need to remove my bra and have a shoulder massage or a lengthy bath to sort it out. Took me a long time to work out what caused it.

My shoulders crunch when I move them.

PukeCatcher · 20/07/2012 20:13

Me moajab lager kills my shoulders

pencilsinapenciltin · 20/07/2012 20:13

what a brilliant thread - I get loads of these. In fact just reading the description of nervous fanny can give me that sensation! This is legendary.

Can we have a nervous fanny emoticon please?

Also I have really bad eyesight in one eye. My other eye compensates for it. Nothing is ever in focus with that eye and no lens can fix it. Think it's called a lazy eye. If I am looking at something and I relax my eyes I see double and if I close one eye and then the other, the image moves.

Malificence · 20/07/2012 20:14

I get a crawling sensation across the left side of my scalp before a really bad headache.
If I do anything remotely strenuous ( like walking Hmm ) within half an hour of eating a meal, my heart races and my head bangs for a good 15 minutes or so, it started when I was pregnant 23 years ago and has carried on ever since. We were at Chatsworth at the weekend and had a cream tea, we then went into the gardens and DH dragged me up the cascade and I felt like I was dying .
I get the orgasm feeling after a much needed wee too.
I get hiccups if I eat toast too fast.

TheWombat · 20/07/2012 20:15

BalloonSlayer Yes - I get tingly feet when I look over precipices!

And when I'm watching the TV, often I find myself typing certain phrases out with my fingers a la touch typing. I also do this with melodies in songs - but as if I'm playing the piano.

Poor DH gets annoyed as if we watch TV in bed, usually I end up typing or piano playing on his arm / back / the duvet or something.

I am a VERY annoying wombat. :(

Malificence · 20/07/2012 20:16

Oh and my neck goes "off" as soon as I have so much as a sip of alcohol. Hmm

picnicbasketcase · 20/07/2012 20:19

My eyes sometimes water when I lie down for no particular reason. When I was pg and having ultrasound scans the technician thought I was getting overemotional looking at the screen but no, was just my eyes being odd Grin

Malificence · 20/07/2012 20:28

YY to javelin arse, only when I'm on a heavy period and I really need a poo, I've been in so much pain that I can't even urinate and I've vomited, DH found me doubled over in the bathroom and with every retch, a bit of wee came out so I was standing in a puddle with blood and wee running down my legs, DH had to sit me on the loo and clean me up, it was horrible.

If DH is inside me when I have an orgasm, it sets him off immediately, so I have to be careful not to peak too soon.

ImHurting · 20/07/2012 20:36

I've never told anyone this but when I go for a wee the soles of my feet get really hot. Never happens any other time, only when I wee and only on the soles of my feet Confused

Fudgehomnomnom · 20/07/2012 20:39

me too! my fanny feels nervous. You know when you av your phone in your pocket then it vibrates now that is a funny feeling down there!

threeleftfeet · 20/07/2012 21:00

Ooh I get that strange feeling when someone else hurts themselves too, but on the inside of my legs by my knees, not my fanny! (Does that make me more or less strange I wonder?!!)

Also if I tickle the bottom of my ribcage gently, I feel a tickle on the inside of my arm!

TheEnthusiasticTroll · 20/07/2012 21:04

"Nothing is ever in focus with that eye and no lens can fix it"

pencils I have a prism lens for this problem, it is not noticable in the glasses though.

Alwaysme123 · 20/07/2012 21:04

yea i get the funny fanny thing, i also get the tingly fanny when i sit on the edge of a hard seat.

Aufaniae hurrah somebody else with the weak knees, I thought I was alone!

SrirachaGirl · 20/07/2012 21:18

wombat! I do the finger typing thing too. Usually when watching tv/ movies; I feel compelled to type the dialogue as the characters speak. I blame it on the endless typing drills we had to do in ninth grade... I've been unable to stop ever since. I would probably be an excellent court reporter Grin.

yellowraincoat · 20/07/2012 21:19

If I scratch the inside of my ear, the roof of my mouth itches.

DifferentFutureAhead · 20/07/2012 21:24

The top of my mouth itches when I have a fit of sneezing.

I cough uncontrollably when I scratch the inside of my right ear. Only my right ear.

DifferentFutureAhead · 20/07/2012 21:29

I know when I am actually going to be sick (as opposed to just feeling like I am) because my jawline gets a weird feeling in it. Once I get that feeling I head straight for the bathroom as it's guaranteed I am going to be sick. No feeling in my mouth, no need to panic.

JKSLtd · 20/07/2012 21:29

YY to that burning in the neck feeling (MadamFolly I think)
&
Twitching eyelid, esp when tired or stressed.
(it feels so 'big' that i've looked in the mirror and it's hardly noticeable, weird).

Also, whenever anyone drives too near behind me (or walks but i don't notice it as much) i can't help myself doing a sort of all over body shiver.
Even if I think it's coming and I try to stop it. V strange.

I can roll my tongue in a weird way, sort of forked. Dh hates it. Think some celeb was on tv recently saying they could do it too which made me feel better. :)

Fiveflowers · 20/07/2012 21:31

I occasionally get a small very painful lump in either my finger or on my foot.
It feels like a stone under the skin and when I rub it the pain goes and a bruise appears.

I get hiccups every time I eat toast.

After I eat Chinese food my head feels as if it's being squeezed tightly.

EveryPicture · 20/07/2012 21:39

If I throw stuff down the stairs, I feel like I am going to float down the stairs after it. Not step down them, or fall, but float. Confused

I have sleep paralysis. Awful thing. I can 'see' myself pinned to the ceiling. Ugh!

Head massages give me headaches and shooting pains within minutes. Don't touch my head...I'd have to kill you Grin

I roll my tongue more or less constantly.

Touch typing and shorthand lessons have a lot to answer for. I either 'type' the news out in my head or envisage it in shorthand.

God, I'm weird.

Promethea · 20/07/2012 21:49

Haven't read all the thread but the itchy itchy itchy finger blisters are probably Pompholyx Excema, I get them when I'm ill or stressed. You can get a mild steroid cream from the doctors which sorts them out really quickly....

I get a mad inside my head itch which I'm pretty sure is something to to with that tube which joins your nose and yours ears up (eustachian tube?). I have to do a weird clicky throat thing to scratch it.. my dad has the same thing

NotGeoffVader · 20/07/2012 21:50

I know it's quite a way upthread but I have had that pain in the chest thing too, SoftKitty - not actually where my heart is, but on the left side of my chest, just under the middle of my ribs IYSWIM.

I am feeling less and less like a freak as I am working my way through this thread.

I also get those funny little finger blisters, and on my palms too (will have to now see if they concide with my period).

BustersOfDoom · 20/07/2012 21:56

Javelin Arse and Funny Fanny here too and random Cobra Spitting.

If anyone touches or breathes on my right ear I get goosebumps all over my body and go shivery. Nothing happens with the left one.

If I'm coming down with a bug or illness the skin all over my body goes very sensitive and sore. My DM gets it too. It's like an early warning system.

My belly button piercing always used to be sore when I had a period. Thanks to the gift of Cerzette I haven't had one for over a year.

I have sneezing fits, I usually sneeze 8-10 times before it stops.

And I sneeze too if I'm having naughty thoughts. Very odd!
