Weird things your body does, and you wonder if it happens to others too?

I know Im not the only one.

I cant even be arsed to name change, here goes.

Nervous fanny.

You know when someone falls - hard and cracks their chin or elbow or whatever, my stomach drops, I get a shot of anxiety that shoots through the pit of my stomach down to my fanny. Right in the middle of my fanny I get a horrible feeling of anxiety.

Its only started in the last few years, its really unpleasant. Its like a bolt of aniexty, and I ONLY get it when someone hurts themselves. Wtf is that all about?

Anyway, what weird shit does your body do? Confess.

When I get stressed I start to see things in half-sleep. dh was not amused the time I woke him because I had to tell him quite urgently that there was a gecko trying to climb on his bedside table...

Before job interviews I get IBS type symptoms and go for enourmous diarrhea like dumps several times. It's like my bowels get nervous and need to get rid of everything I have ever eaten.

OHforDUCKScake · 20/07/2012 10:12

Hervana · 20/07/2012 10:19

I used to get these little smelly yellow lumps appear from the back of my throat-found out years later they are some sort of mineral deposit?? Don't get them so much anymore for some reason

When I was very young I mentioned it to my dr and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about which made me feel like a proper freak!

BoysWillGrow · 20/07/2012 10:19

Whenever I pluck my eyebrows it makes me sneeze until I finnish, weird me Grin

Hervana · 20/07/2012 10:19

When I say very young I mean in my teens yeah admittedly that was a while ago now!

Hervana · 20/07/2012 10:22

thank goodness for the Internet eh?

Hervana · 20/07/2012 10:27

Blimey balls mind your eyeballs when your plucking!

Idlegirl83 · 20/07/2012 10:28

Long distance - I can do the finger bending thing too! Party trick :)

toxtethogrady · 20/07/2012 10:31

hervana, i used to get those too!

seabuckthorn · 20/07/2012 10:33

If I am up high or I see anything or anyone at a height I get this funny feeling in my feet! Tingly almost.
Anyone else?

kitstwins · 20/07/2012 10:34

I used to have the Alice in Wonderland thingie when I was a child - as everyone said, tended to be linked to fevers. I also had this strange sensation when everything would 'shift'. It's really hard to explain but everything around me would feel very large and round, my skin would feel as if it had big scales on it, I'd see lots of hexagonal boxes everywhere. It's the oddest thing to describe and a horrible sensation. I've no idea what the fuck it is, but I've never come across anyone else feeling the same.

I had repeat mastitis with my last baby (a year ago) and from time to time I get a twinge/sensation of it in exactly the same spot. It's grim. I can actually feel that teeth grindingly awful ache for a few seconds. It may be related to a damaged duct or something.

Get the post-bath surge of water. I can also shoot water from my fanny when I'm in the bath, up like a fountain. It's a bit of a (private) party trick and I guess down to good pelvic floor .

maristella · 20/07/2012 11:14

Try flaring your nostrils and see what your fanjo does Grin

I also get javelin arse, I'm pleased so many of you do too, without wishing you pain!

Occasional twitchy eye

When I've done a huge wee that I've been really needing my kidneys kind of groan...

When I need a poo my whole body changes, I go pale and goose bumpy and I always break into a sweat when I have pooed, even though they are not difficult at all.

Yes to nervous fanny!!

Whitamakafullo · 20/07/2012 11:16

I get the nervous fanny! Someone once described it as an evil orgasm and I thought that summed it up perfectly Smile

I get white fingers whilst driving, and if I scratch the side of my foot and get a tingling feeling in my toes

whatsthatnoise · 20/07/2012 11:18

Hervana there was a girl on embarassing bodies that had those white bits at the back of her throat think they were called tonsil stones.

I get alot of these things especially nervous fanny it only started after dd was born. I also get tears in my eyes about everything she's 3.5 you'd think the hormones would have settled down Blush

When I eat chinese food I get a funny tingling sensation in my jaw the first time it happened I thought I was going into anaphalactic(sp) shock. I'm assuming its a reaction to MSG.

Primrose123 · 20/07/2012 11:21

Wicketypitch I get exactly the same migraine aura as you. You've described it perfectly. It's just after that that the pain starts!

Tasteslikepanda I've had the Alice in wonderland thing since I was little. Never smoked weed though, but I do get migraines. I've always found it a nice feeling, just as I'm falling asleep.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Wonderland_syndrome

All my joints click.

I get period pain down my legs as well as around my hips.

I can still see light and dark with my eyes shut. I must have thin eyelids, as I wear an eye mask in bed as the daylight in the morning hurts my eyes.

When something nearly happens, such as I nearly fall, or hurt myself, I get a painful burning feeling inside my nose.

If someone sings badly, I get goose bumps all the way up the sides of my face.

PeppermintPanda · 20/07/2012 11:25

The itchy blister things on fingers are chilblains I get them either when it's very cold or very hot. I got them right the way up my legs once - agony! I also have the numb finger Raynauds syndrome thing, I guess they might be linked.

I've never had the Alice in Wonderland thing, but a few times I've had the feeling that the walls are shrinking and closing in around me or that the ceiling has come down really low. Very freaky.

I get period pains in my knees (not so much much since pregnancy though) and in my bum cheeks. And when I have a poo, my fingers really hurt.

I can't drink wine because it is too painful. Either staight ofter swallowing or up to about 30 seconds later I get a really intense pain in my chest, lilke it's being burned and crushed at the same time. I judge the quality of a wine by how long it takes for the pain come!

Sometimes I get random words and sentences popping into my head as I'm drifting off to sleep. It's completely involuntary although I can consciously repeat them to myself. It's quite entertaining. They're grammatically correct, but completely nonsensical!

I also have the precordial catch syndrome - nice to know the name of that, thanks!

MzPixielated · 20/07/2012 11:57

my DP uses the term "sugar-puff-piss" instead of oh my god/gosh ect. Grin should really name change as this is so embarrassing but i really cant be arsed..
after a particularly strong orgasm, i cry! Blush also along the same vein is anyone else here a squirter? Wink

cocolepew · 20/07/2012 11:57

I work with a bloke who if he feels a sneeze coming on looks at the sunlight. I have argued with him for years that sunlight doesnt' make you sneeze, now you prove him right Sad.

Period pains down your legs is a sign of a tilted womb, it's pressing on nerves.

redrubyshoes · 20/07/2012 12:02

If I stand barefoot on a 'bristley' doormat it makes me want to pee.

SuddenlyMadameGlamour · 20/07/2012 12:04

Yes coco I do have a retroverted uterus but the leg pain got worse and worse over the years on one side and started happening up to 10 days before my period and a a recent op revealed my pelvis on that side is also riddled with endometriosis in areas where nerves that supply the leg pass. Sad

VirtuousVamp · 20/07/2012 12:08

YY sunlight in fact any bright light makes me sneeze, as do strong mints!! Everyone's always thought I was crazy and odd, so pleased to hear I'm not alone!!! Grin

SuddenlyMadameGlamour · 20/07/2012 12:21

The sneezing thing is a reflex to get you to close your eyes to stop the sun damaging them. Still don't know whether or not it's a myth that it is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open, and that if you managed it the pressure would make your eyeballs pop out...Confused

elportodelgato · 20/07/2012 12:25

Love this thread!
I get itches.
If I stand at the top of a tall building, edge of a cliff or similar, the backs of my knees start to itch
If I am watching a film / tv and it's raining on the screen it makes my eyes itch

Buddhastic · 20/07/2012 12:36

When I have a pedicure and they get to the point of exfoliating my feet with the gritty stuff I get horrible pains in the opposite side shoulder. They are not unbearable just a horrible 'feeling'.
