Three weeks!!! Bloody hell Grin

ovaltine · 03/04/2012 08:54

ah maybe they not living there, they have been employed as security for the car so they can afford the insurance. That mum is a genius. "where do you keep yr car overnight? On drive but with 2 full time security guards in it..."

IvantaOuiOui · 03/04/2012 09:06

I think you should all get into your car, and park next to them and introduce yourself as the new neighbours.

StateofConfusion · 03/04/2012 10:36

ovaltine if thats the case they can do what ever they want in mine, seriously i'll even leave the kids dvd players in,

ivanta I really wish i had the guts to do that, and whilst my Mum and brother and sister were here so it was full to the brim! Grin

Shop around, admiral wanted 500 but got it for 250 with carol nash.

BareBums · 03/04/2012 13:39

Agree with shopping around. DH was quoted 3k for his insurance but after digging about he got a deal for £800.

MariaCallous · 03/04/2012 14:56

I feel a huge sense of achievement! Found this last night and reached the end! Not looked at the pics yet. Then again I've ignored two children and a day at work. Do I get a "I conquered the mammoth jizzcar thread" badge?

Jackin · 03/04/2012 17:51

Well done Maria I dare say one is on its way!

nobutyeahbut · 03/04/2012 19:15

I haven't been back to this thread in a while.....tell me they are not still there??

StateofConfusion · 03/04/2012 19:31

jackin you insurance is £250 a year??? Envy we used gocompare/confused/compare the market, rang several who aren't on price comparison but its pretty fruitless, dp has No NCD and he's 25, been driving about 2yrs. And we have a big car. We have insurance though so I've been lovingly stroking the car and begged him to take us out!! If yours is that a year your never believe what ours is a month!

maria we'll get one made up for you Wink

nobut they are still there!!!

The car wasn't there when we got in but its been a few days so they're probably out for supplies.

Hi peeps found this thread a little earlier and have just finished reading!! state I love the way you write- I feel as though Iv been right there with you hehe!! I'm looking forward to the next installments- though cant see pics on my phone and dd1 has laptop.

bagelmonkey · 04/04/2012 05:53

Have they come home?

Jackin · 04/04/2012 06:10

I'm 36 for a start, the car I'm insuring is landy that I use for work but I only do about 5000 miles a year in. And it's 3 yrs older than your DH :) Still I've just bought a lovely volvo s40 from 2003. And that is costing me £450 a year.
If you want big cars you're gonna have to pay for them :(

LadyBabsWalthamCuddles · 04/04/2012 09:08

Oh no, I'm worried now.

Are they home yet?

millimat · 04/04/2012 09:21

Any snow may have forced them to seek refuge elsewhere...

LadyBabsWalthamCuddles · 04/04/2012 12:09

Is it snowing in Norfolk then?

StateofConfusion · 04/04/2012 12:56

No snow just horrible torrential rain, all my fault for putting washing out before going out yesterday!

update

Week 3, day 23 in the jizz stinking car,

They return home early hours of this morning playing loud music, I know this thanks to them disturbing ds, proceeded to lark around then row for around an hour, now the car is all condensation and I assume they're inside.

Welcome to the madness 03 :)

jackin we have a 2002 zafira, we adore it and my mum helps with fuel so we all use one car iyswim. We weighed it up swapping for a small car and it wouldn't work for us. Mainly as dp has problems with his left hip and knee and since swapping to automatic, and a larger car, he's been in less pain, he's 6"5 so our 106 was not to comfortable for him!

Anyway I'm over my car whinge and I'm bloody chuffed to have it back! --after a dressing down from a carless friend for whinging--

ovaltine · 04/04/2012 14:33

i think yr allowed to moan about it. Price of insurance is ridic. And car tax. And gas/electric. I was looking rich this month til i paid all of this and still need to get a car MOT taxed and ins so i can get to work starting next month. Pls dont get me started on it costing me £82 to fill the fucker up....

You missed prime opportunity to go out in yr pj's and talk to them (keep the noise down and i will bring you toast at 9am, also what language you speak so can bring appropriate phrase book or dicafone with me and ask more questions)

StateofConfusion · 04/04/2012 16:58

ovaltine I didn't consider that, they may have welcomed me since I was wearing pjs! However I am NOT a nice person when tired so I'd have been more likely to just melt down at them, and it was raining!

Luckily our car passed mot and had no advisories, tax makes me rant as I don't understand HOW a newer car gets it for £30 a year! Do they not use the roads as much as me? And here they get cheaper parking!!! £70 for a full tank of petrol for us, we get around 400miles out of it depending on how many people are in the car, if were towing etc. Which isn't great but I can't complain as its a good reliable car which we only paid £500 for as it had no mot, which it sailed through. In the grand scheme of cars I'd rather pay that extra of insurance and fuel for a car I can trust! --because 6 in 2yrs wasn't Fun at all--

OP posts:
StateofConfusion · 04/04/2012 22:47

well the car has been gone since lunchtime... i am hoping they dont wake us at some ungodly hour again!

OP posts:
ripsishere · 04/04/2012 22:53

Bloody helll, still there. Looks like I may be seeing them when I come down to Norfolk in May.

SuperSlattern · 05/04/2012 08:09

rips that sounds like a bloody good idea!

Fancy earning some extra money State? Why not open your house up to us nosey MNers? Grin

StateofConfusion · 05/04/2012 09:09
