On Saturday, I emailed my new MP about taking part in a day of action on 17th June when thousands of people will come to London to meet their MPs in person and ask them to commit to taking strong action on climate change, for the love of all we hold dear – from our families to our food and our futures. Before he'd even set foot in the House of Commons for the first time, my MP had replied and agreed to meet me (bless him!).
I would love to hear from anyone else who has signed up for this event or who is thinking about it and about why you've decided to take part. As far as I'm concerned, my 6 year old son is passionate about wildlife and I have to hand him a lot of credit for teaching me about endangered species. Seeing his hope, passion and positivity has made me open my eyes to what we can do to secure a wonderful future for our children and our planet.
It would be great to get people from all over the country to come along. There's a very helpful website here fortheloveof.org.uk/getting-there/?_ccCt=wuAvThHIkamZN9BS~SSYperHHYeop3RoeckvmZvqaXrlrvZlcNWqqu which includes information to help you get there from different parts of the country and there's a downloadable lobby pack too plus instructions for making bunting featuring some of the messages we want our MPs to hear. Should be a fun, impassioned and inspiring day!
