I'm trying to tell the story of my very good friend Penny Edwards. Penny and her partner Joe lost their 4 month old baby, Billy, to cot death on the 2nd February this year. Penny lost a lot of weight and went to the doctors who sent her away and put it down to grief. She then found a lump in her neck. In late April, a month after losing her baby, Penny was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma. To say that no person deserves two such awful tragedies is an understatement. Pen's friends have been amazing and set up a website to tell her story and raise money, www.pennysfriends.com. Several people are running Iron Man's and marathons and using Facebook to make people aware. We also just heard last week that Penny's specialist has recommeded a new treatment available abroad, called Dendritic Cell Therapy www.dendritic.info but it costs a lot of money. Her friends are now thinking how we can raise more money in order to reach the target. Penny already has a 10 year old daughter and a step mum to her partners two girls. I'm hoping my putting this on Mum's net we can help a fellow Mum.
