I was suprised and disappointed when flicking through the free view channels the other day, I came across a music channel. I don't take much notice of the current music scene these days and I was suprised and disappointed to find one song/video after the next was of an overtly sexual nature. This was not after the watershed but during the day. What affect does this have on a child?
I am a mum of two young children and for a while now I've been anxious about the way our daily life has become infiltrated with sexual imagery mostly for commercial gain. I was encouraged to see that many others are also upset by this trend and this campaign is crystallizing public support. We need to bring it to a local audience and make others aware that something can and is being done about it.
I suggest that we take this campaign into schools and discuss it with teachers, parents and children.
