Better Miscarriage Care Campaign: Freedom of Information results now in!

Hello

Following the launch of our Better Miscarriage Care campaign last year, we sent out Freedom of Information requests to all the hospital trusts in England to see how they measured up against our code of care.

The results are now in, and you can see them here; do have a look at the PDF of the full report, so that you can see whether your local trust responded, and how they did.

Overall it seems to be a positive picture, although some trusts are clearly doing a lot better than others. And, as ever with these things, there may be some gaps between policies and the way care is actually delivered on a day-to-day basis.

Whether you think your trust isn't always delivering on its stated policies, or you think its policies could be better, or you would like to congratulate it on its good performance, we'd love to know what you think.

You'll see the results page contains a widget for writing to your MP if you want to ask him or her to respond to any concerns.

(We know it isn't ideal that these results are England-only. The NHS structures vary in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and as this is the first time we've done a Freedom of Information exercise we thought it best to stick to just one administration for now - and the English NHS is by far the largest, and so gives us the most useful dataset. You can see the original FoI requests we sent out on this page: if you're outside England (but in the UK!) and would like to submit a request to the relevant body, please feel free to use ours, and do let us know what response you get.)

Hi Captain,

Have you tried hitting 'Control' and 'F', and then entering a search term? It should help you to find out whether your trust is in there.

If that doesn't work, let me know which trust you're looking for (email us on [email protected] and mark it 'FAO Rowan' if you don't want to post it on here) and I will see if I can find it for you.

Hello

Just responding quickly as I'm not really here: first off, probably best not to name on here any trusts whose responses you think are incorrect, as that could lead us into legal trouble. But do feel free to email me ([email protected], FAO Rowan -better than PMing as it's easier for me to keep on top of) and we will think about ways forward.

Asmywhimsytakesme - we fed back very strongly to NICE that that proposal was roundly rejected on here; they are currently considering the consultation responses. We will let you know as soon as we hear what conclusion they've come to.
