HUMAN MAD COW'S DISEASE (vCJD) MARCH TO DOWNING STREET 12TH MAY 2011

As most informed mums on here probably already know vCJD is a serious ongoing health issue, only recently 59 people were told that they may have been exposed to CJD/vCJD via surgical instruments used in their operations. What does this say about the state of our health service in 2011, we still do not screen or filter blood for vCJD, we still do not de-contaminate surgical instruments so we remain a country at risk of spreading vCJD. The aim of the campaign (justice4andy.com) is to raise awareness, demand justice, accountability and responsibility, a transparent criminial investigation, educate, promote research into prion diseases/treatments/cure/screening tests.
On Thursday 12th May 2011 we shall be taking our campaign to No 10 Downing Street, London to ask our primeminister to do more to stop the spread of vCJD, come and join us and support the families affected by vCJD.
Many victims are initially mis-diagnosed as suffering from depression, dementia or even ME, not until the final stages of the disease are they diagnosed with what is in fact human mad cow's disease.

It was nice to meet up with people from all walks of life who have lost loved ones from this lethal disease. I met people who have been told that they have been exposed to mad cow's disease through surgical instruments used during their operations, one victim is currently dying from vCJD, I met parents whose children died from being given growth hormone vaccines infected with BSE, I met parents whose children died from being given BSE infected Polio vaccines, parents whose children ate BSE infected beef, people who were worried about the blood transfusion they had, the list goes on. I spoke to members of the public who said they knew people who had died from this disease and did not realise that it still existed in 2011.
If BSE infected material had not been allowed into our food and medicine chain in the first place by our then health minister (Kenneth Clarke) our then agricultural minister (John Gummer) then no one would be have died or been put at risk. There should be an independent criminal investigation into all of the unlawfull deaths to date from this avoidable lethal disease.
One death from vCJD is one death too many and nobody has been held accountable.
