should we hold a protest over the lads mags issue?

about the fact that some stores still won't change their displays of inappropriate magazines eg on low shelving, in the eye level of children or on the floor etc. read more threads about it and the main page on campaigns

wh smith here the magazines in question are top shelf and covered,cant quite see what there is to protest about

right, has anyone heard of zoo or nuts magazines? its about that fact that apparantly some w.h smith stores are still not signing up to join in like other stores have done for the protection of children seeing inappropriate magazines like zoo or nuts or low level shelving, at the eye level of a todler. did anyone see channel 4's the sex education show -stop pimping our kids?

magazines like lads mags- zoo nuts, mens lifestye mags or the sport newspaper show inappropriate images on the front cover, you must have seen this in your life at some point? there is a huge amount of discussion about it, its over the news, tv programs, its all over mumsnet and i've personally campained for 10 years. my point AGAIN is- w.h smith according even mumsnet and the channel 4 sex education show are still not signing up to cover the magazines up or raise them to higher shelving.

and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about protesting outside a large w.h smith store in london for example or any major city. or even outside smaller newsagents, but i think w.h smith would be better, or any of the larger companys that still have not responded or won't sign up to put pressure on them to do so. small shops and local newsagents or garages would probably be best to have written letters of complaint sent to them like the one outlined on mumsnet.

if anyone knows of any protests on the subject please let me know. if you are not interested or have a clue what i'm talking about, please do not reply again.

Personally, its not an issue. My 2yr old is well equipped and immersed in the activities I take out with us. He doesn't so much as glance at them. Am I wrong in thinking it is my job to keep my son safe and pure and not the store's?

Is this why you've been resurrecting threads that are a year or more old? Because you want to do a half-assed protest and no one agrees with you?!?!

As if we've got nothing better to do. As others have said, my children are usually busy chatting etc and probably wouldn't even notice these mags. If they do - who really gives a monkeys there are plenty of similar images on advertising hoardings etc and I don't think they'll be scarred for life as a result.
