Home life fair to middling.
Private life scattered like seeds to the wind.
Humour slightly paused but thriving like a mushroom in a dark, damp hole.
Adoration of Paolo not moved an inch.
Wishing Paolo would share an inch.

Normal service will return.

bums ladies it sounds like the weather is pants in the UK. I can assure you there is such a thing as TOO EFFING HOT. I am in Cyprus and its too hot to sit outside, 35 in the shade....kids are inside watching a DVD and my FIL has just dragged DH off on a walk, ha ha ha haaaaa! I dont know how he will survive, he can barely sit in it let alone walk in it!

Congrats to Neenz...is there a link to the birth story somewhere?

FG....sending you some Paolo inches....

Shabs and Trips - you two crack me up, please do some more late night talking so I can come on in the morning to get cheered up...(we are two hours ahead here).

Almost looking forward to a bit of cold when we return...am I mad Shock

HM - Grin and Biscuit and Envy.

Have just been watching Wall.E this morning though and reminding myself how boring it would be if we lived in a climate-controlled, perfect environment all the time....Hmm....apparently.

shabs, we have just returned from a five-day trip to Cornwall. It took eleven hours to get there and nine hours to get back. It rained most of the time we were there. Although we onlt spent money on clothes and fuel, we are now totally skint, and Sainsbury's actually rung me today to tell me my order couldn't go through because there wasn't enough money on my card so we have to wait till tomorrow (when our Child Benefit comes) to get some shopping. The kids have had breadsticks, apples and lumps of cheese for lunch, and I am cleaning dirty bottoms with paper towels and water cos we've run out of wipes.

BUT I had the best part of a week as far away from home as possible in England, with no washing up (we used paper plates) and only one room (the caravan) to keep tidy. I met up in real life with friends I can only Facebook for the rest of the year, and I felt like a real life human being. Between rain showers the boys kicked footballs on the grass and slid down muddy hills and did things boys are supposed to do in the summer, and everytime DH nipped to the shops, he took DS4 with him, so there were periods where I didn't even have to chase after a two year old and I could just.........sit.

SO - it was completely worth it, just because it's different to normality and, like Christmas in winter, it's my focal point for every summer. I think I always mentally embellish it between times so I'm always a bit disappointed with some aspects, but that doesn't matter because I can just do that again inbetween :)

So don't begrudge the penny-pinching build up to it - enjoy it!

Right, back to climb the laundry mountain....

shabbapinkfrog · 10/08/2010 16:26

Oh Estar we have done a bit of that - once, when the twins were little babies I had no nappies left....disposables were unheard of then - it was a cold wet Winter day and I couldn't get the damn things dry.

Me and my Mum improvised with hand towels LOL!!

We have also done the no shopping thing - when there aren't even old burgers in the freezer Grin

Im doing better now that I have decided to shut up moaning about finances and enjoy our holiday for what it is - the chance to have some sun on our backs and to meet our wonderful Greek family once again. xxx

Hi guys! I haven't been abducted by aliens but I have had a baby Grin

Daniel Jacob was born at home Smile on Sunday. 6lb 10oz, 8hr labour (more painful than giving birth to the twins tho which was a big surprise!) and we are all doing well.

The DTs have taken to him really well. He sleeps in our room atm and Esther ran in this morning, pointed to D in the moses basket and said 'that's a baby!', then she toddled off doing her normal thing. T is a bit more interested, he likes to stroke his legs and say 'baby Daniel, baby brovver' Smile. DH and the grandparents are looking after me and the twins so it is easy street so far cos of course D doesn't do anything yet! He is feeding well and sleeping OK at night (as long as he is lay on our bed Hmm) but you just have to do what gets you through the night at this stage don't you. It is so much easier than having newborn twins obviously!

You might remember my SIL was pg with twins - she had them on july 31, 2 girls, 5wks early and a vaginal twin breech delivery! Shock She knew they were breech and she was booked in for section at 37wks but went into labour at 34+5 but didn;t even realise it was labour - she thought it was BHs. Got to hospital and she was 10cm dilated! The first twin was born 27mins later, bum first, then DT2 had to be pulled out by her foot. She wasn't breathing so well so went straight to SCBU. They are both in SCBU now but doing well, off monitors etc just got to get feeding going properly cos she is BFing but they are a bit weak and don't suck so well yet, so they are getting about 25% from breast and 75% top-up of ebm at each feed. Prob will be home next week Smile.

shabbapinkfrog · 11/08/2010 12:14

Congratulations on the birth of little brovver - Obviously, because I am biased I adore the name Daniel - I love it in all ways - Danny, Dan, etc etc. Well done you - hope you are all bonding together and enjoying each other. I showed Lew, Daniels photo and who he 'belonged to!' He said 'Awwwww Anma, Teeto and Tester got a baba!'

Congratulations to your sister - sounds like she had a difficult time - Your family are growing by the day Grin

Trips - the post just came... you are a good friend - so thoughtful and kind - thank you sweetheart xxxx

Neenz - yahooooo! Fanflippintastic Grin

I am, like Shabs, biased, but Daniel is a wonderful name, as is Jacob.

And it will be so wierd being able to do stuff for just one baby at a time. Obviously, life will still be completely manic, but when you're making tea with one hand and juggling a baby in the other, unlike most harrassed mothers, you'll be so excited about actually having one free hand!! Grin

JBsmama · 11/08/2010 17:06

Just wanted to pop in and see how Shabs was feeling... saw the sad news yesterday... Robbie Williams is married :o

D'you need your hand held? Or something a bit stronger, perhaps?

:o

shabbapinkfrog · 11/08/2010 18:31

Grin I'm bearing up - but thank you for your kind thoughts LOL!!! He couldn't handle me anyway - to be honest!!

Shabs....you are welcome xx
So whats up with me, all I have done for days is work, I have turned everything out that could be turned out inc the kids:o I have chucked out stuff left right and centre, if it hasn`t been worn or played with in the last year its gone! Now I have tidy bedrooms cos they have nothing left:o H is very very fed up, went for his pre chemo blood test on Mon, if its not good they call us same day by 3pm, no call. So over he goes today for his 6 hours of chemo, sends me a text to say they are not giving him the chemo as his white cell count is too low again, will only give him the antibody!! This means he now has to go back again next Mon for another test, and if thats ok he will get the full chemo next Weds. This means now that the last chemo will be on the 8th Sept..........seems to be going on forever. Went out last night to the pub with some girlfriends, it was quiz night, ten teams, we came 9th Blush
Right.......who is bringing out the drinks trolley cest soir?? Mines a Tio and a diazapan with nuts on the side:)

triplets · 11/08/2010 23:12
