Going to have to give myself a talking to I think Trips. I am sooooooooo tired I could cry at any given moment. I have lost interest at the moment with all of it....I know that I will get myself out of the way I feel - but I cant be 'doing' with it all right now!

Hello multiple mums! I hope you don't mind me jumping into your thread but can I ask you all a question? I am 14.5 weeks pregnant with twins and I had a private nuchal scan. The sonograher asid that he recommended twin pregnancies are scanned every 4 weeks and so I should have another at 16 weeks. Is this right or is he trying to make a fast buck? I know you have extra scans but I thought they were after 20 weeks. I'd be very glad of your informed advice! (Also what does anyone think of the first wheels city twin !)

shabbapinkfrog · 03/08/2010 10:48

Hiya Amber - congratulations!

I had my twins in 1981 - no scans at all then, unless you had a history of problems in pregnancy. My boys were found (by x-raying) 10 days before I delivered them at 38 weeks!!!!!!!! ROFL - so, sorry I cant help you.

HarrogateMum · 03/08/2010 12:08

AMber you should get them on the NHS - go and see your midwife!

MarsLady · 03/08/2010 14:55

Amber... what HM said. Get your scans on the NHS. It's up to you how many scans you want to have (the hospital/mw will tell you how often they scan) and they will scan more frequently if the DTs are ID.

triplets · 03/08/2010 21:56

Welcome Amber.............jump on board.....lovely to have a newbie.......did you bring nuts, cake and wine??

Shabs.......you do need a talking to, it will be ok, may I ask why you are going peak time this year, isn`t it alot more expensive? Is it more difficult to take Tom out of school, what year does he go back too, is it 9? Wish I could help you my friend, you need this break xx

triplets · 03/08/2010 22:57

House finally quiet.........bed settee again tonight, just finished off the last of my Californiam smoke house almonds Kale Nits me amigos

shabbapinkfrog · 04/08/2010 01:45

Oh Trips - going peak time this year because of school....last year the headmaster (who is such a wimp) refused me permission to take the last few days off school. Really, really wish we had not booked for this year. I know we will make it - I really know we will but it is just not worth the worry...really not worth the pissing worry. Both my DH and I have always worked our whatsits off....then DH had a bad accident at work and is now classified as disabled....we have both always worked our whatsits off to provide. Everything I touch turns to crap....I know everything will be ok but I dont hold out much hope - if you get what I mean xxx

Morning Shabs, I feel for you, life is crap and unfair, 2 weeks of happiness and sun isnt much to ask for, I would have taken Tom out of school, they really cant deny you, after all some kids have weeks off skiving or sick, Tom doesnt. I have just got to the stage with our lives that I will just take them out, time tog is more important, and lets face it the last week of school is a complete waste of time, mine watched dvds! Just going to check my lottery tickets for you!! xx

shabbapinkfrog · 04/08/2010 11:09

I have slapped myself around the mush with a wet smelly kipper - normal service will be resumed asap LOL

You are right Trips about school. BUT Tom said 'please dont go in school time Mum, I would rather not go at all. It didn't go down well last year with the teachers.' He's in the top sets for all his subjects and they have enormous pressure on them. They spent the last two weeks of the school year doing 3 hour exams in every subject

Anyway - the lottery is mine, all mine, tonight!!!

Mind if I muscle in? Just found you all - Shabba , ditto about scan etc way back in the days of steam births. Had my DTD's end of 70's, bit luckier than you, they discovered my two at 16 weeks - still bit of a shock - had to go and buy everything all over again. Hubby (now ex) wanted to emigrate - alone. Always very supportive type...

Anyhow, my new DP refuses to let any wimpy teacher dictate when he can take DSS's out of
school - he just tells them. Send me to jail he says .they're my f......g kids......Mind you he is a bit of a large chunk of a man and tends to get away with things like that.. in the nicest possible way of course.

HarrogateMum · 04/08/2010 19:47

aww Shabs - my DT1 (the ginge) has that jumper on that Lew is wearing!

Alright cantseeforlookin! Nice to meet you (and your lareg chunk of a DP...)
