Twins starting school in sept.

My babies are starting school. What am i going to do? Where has the time gone?
Has anyone else have twins (or more)!! stating school???

Hi Lucylady - my twins start school in September and I feel very emotional about it. Like you say, where has the time gone .

My two - non identical girls - are being put into separate classes. Are yours?

Hi Sandyballs,
I have DD and DS. They will be put in the same class at my request. My DS has a speech delay and I felt it would help him settle in if his sister could be in same class.
I do not mind them being apart when they go up to y1.

My dd's start nursery in sept they will be together untill they start reception then they will be parted dont know how they will cope when that happens they stick together like glue.

Well I have nearly completed my shopping for school uniform. Just school socks and plimsols to buy. Cant wait to see them all dressed up, I will have to have plenty of tissues handy!!!

long way to go for me before school, my twins are only 18 months.

My DT have just gone in to year1 and have been separated at our request.

One is fine but the other is having problems settling in and said today he was sad that they were not in the same class.

He is in a mixed yr1 reception class and said he doesn't like being with reception children.

Have any of you experienced this.

My two start in September & I have to say I am really looking forward to it & I hope they are.
They are ready for it, school holiday's will be difficult though as my employers don't give enough holiday for me to take time off.
A bit worried about my son though could either be the making or breaking of him.

My DTs are only 22 months so a while yet but my DD started last august. I found it so sad and I still prefer the days when it didn't matter what time we got up, the days we could decide what to do on a whim . However, DD is doing tons of amazing stuff now and I'm so proud. Wait til the first school nativity - it killed me and I'm sure I was the only one with eyes like swimming pools.

By the way, current research seems to indicate that keeping twins together in the same class is the best thing for them. I don't remember where i read this, but I'm sure if you do a google search the articles will show up.

My two start in August and we'll find out next week if they have been placed in separate classes as requested by us. I think studies are fine but never take into account the individuals and twins in a class together are always that, twins. I know for a fact that put in different classes where they will still be able to be together during breaks and lunch will be better for my dts.

Together they tend to ignore everyone else around them. This way their concentration and development into individuals will improve rather than everyone just saying "the twins."

I don't know how many other multiple mums on here feel this way but at nursery school they already have their own groups they like to hang out with. They will always have each other but to be together 24/7 would stifle them, they are already close and have a really good bond. By separating them it will add to this, I hate when people say how cruel it seems when they don't know the situation.

My DS twins are going up to Junior school in September(yr3).However,I remember their 1st day very well.DH was so worried about ME that he took the day off,so that we took them together.
I felt as if someone had cut off my arm or something.After being so busy all the time it was strange to have an empty house all day.
I soon got into the swing of things and managed to fill my days off work very wellGrin
I'll always remember it though,people must have thought we were mad,we were the only ones taking photos of them at the school gates.Blush
