Has anyone tried this or done it successfully? (17 weeks pregnant with twins and considering everything!)

hi fredericsmum

co-sleeping was the only thing that worked with my two during the first few weeks - and it was the breast-feeding nurse who told me to do it

it was a god-send! just chuck your husband out - put the little ones on the inside of the bed and lean over to feed them whenever one cries - then there's no need to get up a million times in the night and they sleep better too!

if i had another one i would definitely do it again (at the beginning at least)

we gradually weaned them off it when they were a couple of months old i think (hard to remember now as it was all such a blur!!)

good luck!

Thanks for that. It's just good to know it is possible, and it can be an option.

There is a yahoo group called apmultiples that has lots of discussion of cosleeping with twins. It seems that it can be done, but you have to be more inventive than with a singleton.

I didn't manage it as the babies weren't happy unless they were next to me, which meant having one either side, which meant one was behind me when I fed the other and I felt very nervous I would roll back onto her. Even at the teeny tiny newborn stage they seemed to somehow snuffle their way closer to me, so even if I placed them about a foot away from me they somehow sniffed me out and wriggled closer.

I did and it was wonderful.

I current co-sleep with iden girls in a single bed! It's the only thing that is keeping me sane at the mo. I couldn't deal with getting up and to the cot everytime they needed to feed (i'm breastfeeding)... It is lovely having them in the bed you!!

Best thing to do is try it and see if you and your babies are comfortable with it and take it from there
