ARM with twins?

I'm nearly 39 weeks with my fraternal twins. Had a sweep 36 hours ago but no signs of anything happening yet.

Have been offered ARM next week if labour hasn't started by then, (cervix starting to dilate already so consultant did not think any pessaries etc needed) but am reading very mixed things on mumsnet about getting labour started in this way. Lots of people saying ARM itself is painful and then, if it works, the labour itslef is much worse. These are my first babies so I don't have any previous labour to compare with.

Has anyone with multiples gone for the ARM option? How did you find it?

I had one with mine.

They did the ARM and 4 hours later nothing had happened so they put me on the drip it took an hour for the contractions to start but from 1st contraction to both babies was just 47 minutes

I have an older ds who arrived after spontaneous labour and I can honestly say that the 2nd labour was no harder or worse.
My 1st labout was only 3 hours though lol

I was desperate to have my twins as I had had enough of being pregnant but if you are happy to wait it out then I would x
