Oh Rubester - you sound like me!!! I watch our Tommy go into school and try his best - he is academically amazing - he struggles a bit with the social side of stuff....he hates the girls in his class cause they go in for the social life....the boys in his class he can take or leave. The worst of the kids are rewarded with FREE LAPTOPS - WTF????

Boxing????? OMG not boxing!!! Tom went to wrestling club for ages but ended up doing a major flounce cause the trainer was belittling the chubby kids. We did a 'Im going home and never coming back here again because my child hates this atmosphere' type moment.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND EDUCATION IN GREAT BRITAIN TODAY...OMG I am SHOUTING.

Could I also just point out that Man City (my team) beat Man Utd 2-1 in the first round of the semi final of the Carling Cup tonight ROLL ON THE DAMN FLOOR LAUGHING!!

OH MY GOODNESS - yes Luke is 1 today

ds1 at school, dts at nursery so dh and I off to the pub for lunch start him early

yes I don't understand the school education system either

estar · 20/01/2010 11:27

Morning all.

Hope you're ok Neenz and that the worrying will come to nothing - I totally convinced myself in the 3rd and 4th pregnancies that something was going to go wrong because I already had healthy children so therefore I couldn't keep being so 'lucky' - what's with that??

LargeG&T, we decided not to find out the flavour of this one but I have only ever thought of it as a boy after four others! I had always said I would have four, then after meeting our most scrumptious DS4 we got greedy and decided we could never have enough - but this pregnancy has cured us now! Can't possibly ever carry another child without doing irrepairable to myself so my poor DH is going through the process of getting an appointment for the snip

He is (bless him) currently at Blackpool Hospital with DT1 who has really suddenly developed cross-eyed vision. I noticed it on Monday, then got a phone call from school yesterday so I made an optician's appointment. Then last night DT1 (aged six)casually mentioned that he has been having headaches for the last few days, has to close one eye in order to read now, and can see two of everything if he looks at it with both eyes. I made a doctor's appointment for him but DH ended up being up most of the night worrying about it, rang the NHS hotline this morning and was told to take him straight to the nearest A&E with an eye department. Oo-er It's a good job he's around - I am the opposite of a natural born worrier and tend to wait till people show signs of critical illness before seeking medical help .

Still waiting for news though and they must have been there nearly two hours so there's either nothing happening or lots of activity so he can't phone me!

neenz · 20/01/2010 12:18

Thanks everyone . I felt a bit sick yesterday afternoon and a bit today so am more reassured. The sickness is definitely much better though which has made me realise just how awful I did feel. And with my SIL falling naturally with twins and realising now how dreadful my ms was it has made me more worried its twins again!

I am so excited for my SIL but am glad I had my twins first and then (hopefully) a singleton rather than the other way round. Her DS will be 2.2 when the twins are born and she has been pretty soft with him so he still doesn't sleep through. She doesn't believe in leaving him to cry and still gives him a bottle and as much cuddling as he needs to get back to sleep. Not sure how she does it with working four days a week too. It is the complete opposite to the way I do it and obviously her choice but not sure she will have that luxury when DTs arrive! I am keeping out of it - I want her to go through her own multiple experience without me butting in going 'ooh, you should do it this way' or 'I did it that way'. I will only speak when spoken to!

Estar, any news from the hospital? Hope he is OK - I am a bit like you, when the DTs were tiny and used to cry most of the night DH would always say 'shall we take them to hospital?' and I'd be like 'and say what? My baby won't stop crying? It's what babies do!' I fear I am not one of those mothers who 'just knows' when there is something terribly wrong. Hopefully I would though, for their sake

largeginandtonic · 20/01/2010 13:02

Rubes i missed that! Poor ds There is no justice anymore. I would say something tbh, it is cruel.

Estar at poor dt1, hope he is ok. Surely dh will phone as soon as he can, must be still waiting to be seen? What a worry.

I too am of the wait till it is dire emergency before doing something. If i jumped at every bloody thing i would live in absolute terror

So possibly another lovely boy. The name situation must be getting tricky! My bf just had her 5th boy in the Summer, she knew it was a boy. She just say's "I don't do girls"

Let us know about dt1, will be thinking of him

estar · 20/01/2010 17:30

Spoken to him since - he's left his phone in the car and parked miles away so he to wait to get a bed set up before he could ring. Although DT1's symptoms are not severe, because they've come so suddenly, they're a bit concerned. He also has an inflamed spleen (don't know how they know this or what the connection is!) so they've done loads of blood tests and given him a CAT scan, so he's getting a thorough going over!

So my brother's come up tonight to give me a hand and we will see what tomorrow brings.

As for names - we're always ok for boys and struggle for girls - another sign that it will probably be a boy! And that's what I say when people tactfully say 'Oh, you MUST be desperate for a girl!' I always say either 'Oh, I wouldn't know what to do with a girl' or 'Well, we do boys so well though, don't we?....' and wait for their reaction

Turkelton · 20/01/2010 21:12

Hi everyone have not posted on here in ages DTs are 16 weeks old now ! will try to catch up with everybody soon, wanted to say a huge congrats to curiosity on the birth of her dt's , very late I know

triplets · 20/01/2010 22:53

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr remember the child who used ds1 credit on his phone? Well he was here this evening, chased Thomas downstairs spraying him with Beccs deodorant, Thomas slipped half way down, nad smacked his phone on the wall..........ruined
Not what we needed tonight, DH at hospital at 9.30am to see the oncologist to get lates ct scan and blood results.........
£60 phone, he`s had £30 worth of credit since Christmas Day...........strange thing is I feel quite calm...........

shabbapinkfrog · 21/01/2010 06:50

Good morning girls xx

largeginandtonic · 21/01/2010 07:52

Blardy hell Estar my lovely you must be worried.

I hope they get to the bottom of it quickly. Will be thinking of you today.

Trips no more phone for the boy then! That lad should be off the playdate list i think.

DD2 is poorly sick all night and teamp. I have just been sick too, fabbo. School run to do...

estar · 21/01/2010 10:08

Update: From the CT scan, they think he has inflamed sinuses which are pressing on his eyes which explains the sudden change in his sight, so he is currently on intravenous (sp?) antibiotics but may be home today or tomorrow - phew. I hope that's all it is, because that sounds straightforward and short term.

In the meantime, I've had the doctors out to me this morning because I have a spotty rash all over my body! No other symptoms so he thinks its an allergic reaction to being pregnant! Is there anyone more pathetic at carrying children than me? Still sick, can't walk, struggling to breathe and now I'm covered in spots! You'd think if I was allergic to pregnancy it'd show up before the fourth time!!

LargeG&T hope you're not feeling too bad. Has the sickness stopped? Is DD2 being quiet and cuddly or fidgety and whiney? Hope the former.

trips, that child sounds deLIGHTful .

Hi turkleton, hope everything's going well for you and the miniturks xx

shabbapinkfrog · 21/01/2010 10:28

Estar I bet that was a massive relief - hope he is soon 100% better.

Allergic to being pregnant ROFL I used to feel like that each time I was expecting.... think I am probably very allergic to DH

largeginandtonic · 21/01/2010 16:34

Thank goodness Estar what a relief.

DD is mostly being cuddly. Velcro baby. Like being pregnant again.

lol at you being allergic to being prg

I bet you cant wait to have this bundle of joy out. Just think of the snuggles. What are your names then [nosy]

Shabs is Lew happy to be with Grandma again? Any more snow?

Hi Turkleton, glad things are going well

Estar, lol at being allergic to being pg. How crazy! I am feeling sick again (10+4 now) - I blame you let for slapping me the other day . I have ordered a Doppler... I know I know, it is daft and you can't always find a hb and it will probably just make me more worried, but I am sure it will help settle my nerves throughout the PG. I think being on MN makes you think problems/MCs/SBs are more common than they really are . I am just a worrier where pregnancy is concerned.

Trips, Grrr at that boy! Why do they have to be so mindless?
