just interested to know... sorry if this has been done many times before just feel like my boys were delivered with a huge time gap 2 hours apart and the only reason it was 2 hours it would have been longer was because i started to panic that we were heading towards midnight and wanted them to have the same birthday so they broke my waters again, is this normal?????????????

As a m/w IME its between 10 and 30 mins on average. 2 hours I would say is longer than normal. Your 2nd twin must have been taking his time to find the way out!

LongStory · 15/11/2009 10:34

I had 1hr 50 between the two, and wouldn't care to go through that gap again!

mamadiva · 15/11/2009 10:40

My mum had 22 minutes between her two.

I have friends who are twins and have seperate birthdays as one was born at 11.49pm and the other at 12.55am they love that even though they are twins they have their won days which I guess makes sense

I had a natural delivery with mine, they were born 6 mins apart, first was head down, second was a breech delivery, they were in a hurry though - it was coming up to Midnight on St Valentines Day

curiositykilledhaskittens · 16/11/2009 17:41

Only 15 mins between my two. Don't think I got any contractions for the second though, just pushed and she came out in her waters!

dairymoo · 16/11/2009 17:50

5 mins between my two, born naturally. Think there were about 2 contractions between the two pushes!

magnummum · 17/11/2009 15:01

27 minutes - think Alex was relishing the space!

LargeGlassofRed · 17/11/2009 20:08

9 mins both head down,
Freddie came flying out then Stan's waters came out in a balloon,
followed by his head, so he looked like a deep sea diver lol

lulururu · 21/11/2009 00:18

1 hour between mine. looked down at my tummy after the first and thought so thats how small i would have been had i only been pregnant with one!

readyfornumber2and3 · 21/11/2009 20:06

13 mins for my 2
1st one head down 2nd feet first

ciforjif · 21/11/2009 20:13

I had a c-section but DD1 born first DS1 born 2 mins after. DD1 was head first and ready to go for ages but DS1 was breech and at the time C-section seemed the best option.

oooggs · 21/11/2009 20:21

19 minutes, both head down and delivered naturally - glad it wasn't any longer!

jennyroper · 22/11/2009 00:22

20 mins, i pushed hard for the second, heard a pop and thought 'brill I've done it' - WRONG it was just the waters of the second baby.

Tortington · 22/11/2009 00:24

13 v. short minutes

dwpanxt · 22/11/2009 00:34

10 minutes both breach 7lbs + each - epiduraled and assisted out.

Not to be recommended but I was't bothered at the time.

End product was healthy babies

e3chick · 06/01/2010 16:03

Well I am tops so far with 2hr 50min. Contractions just didn't start again, and baby stayed high. Not fantastic as i really wanted to be with no. 1.

HarrogateMum · 08/01/2010 16:43

12 minutes.....one was 12.07 and one 12.19....if I'd pushed harder I could have had the separate birthdays thing!
