Feeding twins out and about

Hi

I picked up some great tips on how to bottle feed my seven week old twins here. I found that laying their heads in my lap while I sat on the sofa worked best for us, but clearly this method won't work while we are out of the house.

As the Easter holiday is fast approaching I'd like to be able to take my two older DS out and about without having to rush home to feed the babies every four hours.

Can anyone suggest an easy way to bottle feed two single handed while out and about in a Maclaren double buggy?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I'd love to be able to help with this - but as of yet I haven't been out on my own with my 2 and managed to feed...so I'm going to hang onto your coat tails with this one...here's hoping!!!

I used to go to a cafe, put a chair in front of the buggy and stick the bottles in their mouths and feed them that way. It does hurt your back but beats staying in all day! Will you be out with friends - once they see you struggling they will surely offer to help feed a baby? I think I heard about a wonderful contraption on here that was for hands free feeding of twins, some kind of special bottles made by Podee I think - would they help? Remember wishing I'd known about them before my DTs could hold their own bottles. Good luck!

i go out alot on my own with my 13 week old twins and my 4and 3 year olds. i tried the sitting them in the buggy and feeding together and it works but i do get a bit of sick as i cant wind them together. i find it easier to feed one and then feed the other. i looked at the podee bottles but the reviews said they are hard to clean and some bits cant be steralised using a steamer.

I did the same as twinmam, leaning over the pram, and I also managed to prop up the bottles with muslins/hats/clothes to give my back a bit of a break. If you're not going far, keep them in their car seats and that way you can put one on either side of you and don't have to lean too far.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a couple of Podee bottles but I think they are more suitable once they are a bit older than mine, also a bit scared as they do look very complicated!

I am still too scared to give it a try, but plan to have a go next week as I can't stay in for two weeks with four boys at home I will go doolally...er.
