PMSL Rubester......it already has a strange coloured poo stain from the Lewmeister on it I just did the big shop at Asda - all the way round I could smell 'cheesey rusks.' When we got home I just noticed cheesey rusks drool all down the back of my tshirt!!! Im sure they dont make cheese flavoured rusks - its just that Lew had both of them today!

Hoochie, I can't believe it's 18 months already! My lovely girls will be 4, yes 4, next Wednesday . I have often boasted of the sacrifices you have made food-wise to continue feeding . Have the DTs had any allergy tests done or are their reactions lessening as they get older?

BTW a friend has some reins she'd be happy to sell to you. Sod's law though - they'd been lying around for ages till she got her DH to do some clearing out at the weekend and they went in a box in the loft! So she'll have to dig them out - I'll ask her how much she wants for them.

Oh god, the days of weird and foulodd-smelling stains appearing from nowhere on one's clothes...I still relish the fact that I can wear things two days running without having to check for rusk/milk/indiscriminate orange stains .

thank goodness my hangover isn't as bad as it could have been considering the size of the vat of sauvignon blanc i glugged yesterday.
thank goodness it's raining here today as that means I can totally justify a whole day of sitting on the sofa and watching Nemo and Chicken Run with the children.
my husband got drunker than me last night so is battling hard to cope with his morning. Lucky he has a day off today. It was so lovely to go out together and have fun. What a treat.
Today a family friend from Lytham St Annes (where my parents live) arrives here in Mount Maunganui where I live and she has a parcel of things from my mum for the children I am sooooo excited! AND i will be able to converse with an English person. I hope she says 'oooh I'd love a cup of tea' then I really will be transported home momentarily.

frumpygrumpy · 05/03/2009 22:09

LOL!

jenny, class act doll hope your parcels brings many treats from home. Its a lovely feeling that.......and I have only ever had it in a much diluted form. How long have you been away from home?

I'm off to bed. Can't shake the tiredness these days.

shabster · 05/03/2009 22:29

FG
I have been living here since November 2007. It's really lovely, we live by the beach and have a nice house with a garden which we could never afford at home. But there is nowhere on the planet further away from my family!
A year ago i was telling someone here how homesick i was and they said 'well it's not like it's the otjer side of the planet'. WHAT???! that's EXACTLY what it is you geographical buffoon.
Yesterday while i was out in the afternoon at a friend's party drinking wine my mother in law appeared at my house. when my husband told her i was out and that we were going out fpr dinner that night she started having a go at him saying 'how can we afford it, didn't you know it;'s a recession, we should be saving our money blah blah blah'. She is lucky I wasn't at home or I would have given her what for in the vein of 'keep your sticky beak out of our financial affairs - about which you know nothing because it's none of your blinking business!'
gggrrrrrrr

Just done the school run. Three people have stopped me and said 'Oh you kept that baby quiet' and then, and then, and then the worst line of all 'HE'S VERY SMALL ISIN'T HE' Find myself defending him - 'he was just 6lbs 2ounces born and he is now 19lbs!' Why dont people just say 'Awwww look at his beautiful eyes?' I used to get that line all the time with all four of my boys - This morning I just replied, to the last person 'No, he's not!' [tumbleweed emoticon] Stupid, stupid people [grrrrrrrrr emoticon]

Have one for me Trips. I make myself snigger because I stand there defending him - LOL - he's 9 months old tomorrow.

frumpygrumpy · 06/03/2009 10:07

How can a baby who is healthy, pink, laughing and 9months old be 'small' I don't get that at ALL!!!!!!! He is gorgeous and exactly the way he is meant to be! And thriving!

FIL has been in hospital all week. Yesterday we got the phone call that he is to have an 'emergency' triple bypass today. About lunchtime, 5/6 hour op Problem is that he has so many other health issues that its a big concern. He was told a couple of years ago that he could never have an op because his body wouldn't survive the anaesthetic. But the docs say this is essential. He is currently doing dialysis 3 times a week and only has half a lung on one side as well as emphysema. Mmmmn. DP is very upset today. FIL made a phone call to MIL this morning and it was very emotional. He is not a man to say things like he did........oh dear. Fingers crossed.

frumpygrumpy · 06/03/2009 18:48

Just got the call. He's just out of theatre. Managed the op! Straight to ICU for next 48 hours and fingers crossed.

dingdong, that is fantastic news! And if you really don't feel its working.....you can go back to teaching again. There is nothing like a complete change to shake things up. It might not feel quite right at first but just hang on because it will settle again. I feel good about you chucking it in. Is DH supportive?
